I had a rodent problem due to the negligence of a tenant living a real life episode of hoarders with disgusting and filthy conditions (prompting the landlord to immediately process an eviction). Upon explaining to Eddie in great detail of the situation, I gave him the number to make an appointment direct with the tenant. Not ONCE but TWICE the tenant stood him up on both appointments travelling from the Bronx. At this stage, most exterminators would be truly annoyed traveling to the destination to perform a job only to get cancelled/stood up from the tenant/customer, wasting their valuable time and losing revenue! Eddie didn't charge me any appointment cancellation fee. He was patient and understood my very difficult and frustrating situation. Eddie assured me when the eviction is complete, he will come and perform his duties once I have full control of the apartment. Once the city marshall gave possession of the apartment, he came and performed the job the following week. Eddie reassured me that he will come again to inspect the entire property to make sure the situation was fully resolved, giving additional assurance and peace of mind. On a closing note, his pricing is very fair and wasn't charged for the revisit to make sure the job was fully completed. I am very please with the services and now have a go-to exterminator for my needs ^_^

At that time they came out and placed boxes filled with chicken and wax poison throughout our apartment. Not knowing any better, we thought that would solve our problem. And it did, for a few months. It turns out that the boxes were placed where the mice were entering our apartment--we were essentially paying At Last Pest Control hundreds of dollars to feed mice! I just hired a new exterminator (Affordable NYC Exterminators), who let us know that wax poison is outdated and simply putting boxes throughout the apartment is a bandaid solution. In order to eliminate the problem, you need to eliminate the points of entry. I paid At Last Pest Control WAYYY too much money for them to not get a better handle of the situation. As alleged exterminators, their conduct was simply unprofessional. When I reached out to them prior to getting a new exterminator, the first thing I was told was that I would be charged again since it is "a new month." Bottom line: save your money and DO NOT use this company (unless you like giving money away and still having to deal with a rodent problem). Another piece of advice: whichever exterminator you use, ask to see their license!

First off, they require full payment up front, which is already an issue, but hey, I had a rodent emergency that seemed... somewhat straightforward, so I figured it'd get resolved quickly and went with it. Second, they can't adhere to any kind of schedule. While setting an appointment, I was dealing with "Steve" who said I wouldn't need to be present when they made their first inspection of the our house and the problem. As a result, I didn't set an official appointment and when the next day rolled around, I got a phone call at 7pm on my way home from work asking, "Where are you? We've been waiting for an hour." Their "inspection" then occurred at 8pm in the dark with a flashlight, when no one could really see anything. Two nights later they put up a couple of traps over some holes that were in spots completely unrelated to where the sounds in the house were coming from and... that was it! No additional searching (particularly in the area of the house that I indicated the noises were coming from), no checkups beyond what was done in the dark at night. And no visits. I finally needed to get some repairs done and asked them two days before the repairs began (around 3 weeks after the traps went up with no success because... they weren't in the right place) to remove the traps so work could begin. No response. So I had the repairmen remove them. Steve went ballistic saying that "his property" had been removed and I "let someone touch his traps." and ended it with "This case is closed." So. Customer service = 0. Value = 0 (They got a LOT of money up front for a total of around 1.5 hrs of work). Success = 0. Avoid at all costs.

Steve was super responsive and professional during the two weeks of waiting and trapping. I was impressed that Steve responded to my call and gave me an appointment on the same day especially it was the day before Thanksgiving. Ugh, worst experience of my life but at least EZ Bed Bug Exterminator was there for me…read more They're a family owned local business and as a native New Yorker myself I really appreciate that. Both Henry and Matt were patient, understanding and super informative. Their communication was amazing - they even got back to me super late at night when they coulda just messaged me the next morning or something, but I appreciated it. They were super prompt, clear and quick when they did come and also super flexible with my schedule. They explained everything in detail, listened to my concerns and requests and were really a breath of fresh air to work with. They also have the best prices in town, at least from the research I did. The price includes their initial spray and the second spray a couple weeks later. It also comes with a 90 day warranty which really brought back my confidence and let me feel some peace of mind after my entire life was tossed upside down and the paranoia took hold. Anyhow, I'm several months after the initial experience and knock on every piece of wood in this world there are still no more bugs. I hope to never see Henry and Matt again (you know how it is) but at least I know who to call if I have to.

Note this change of tune carefully. If your house is spacious and well organized enough to appear in a glossy magazine, you may get away without the "typical hassle of preparation." But if you have clutter, there will be trouble. We had E-Z-Pest recommended to us AFTER we'd already spent months packing books, papers, clothing, and paraphernalia out to the garage. They came and sprayed the house...and sprayed a second time...and sprayed a third time...and sprayed a fourth time...and still we had bedbugs. On the occasion of the fourth spraying, they started making excuses, alternating between (a) saying the place was STILL too cluttered, and (b) blaming our neighbors and recommending that we sic the city health department on them for not wanting strangers to come in and turn their place upside down during the pandemic lockdown. We finally got rid of the bugs by discarding a few pieces of furniture (that no one from E-Z-Pest had ever identified as problematical) and doing a lot of spraying ourselves. Five full months after the fourth spraying by E-Z-Pest, we had the bug-sniffing dog come in and verify that we are now bug free. To be fair, other exterminators demanded even more prep work before they'd even start treatment--effectively telling us to strip every room to the bare walls and live out of a suitcase until we could be sure the bugs were gone. With E-Z-Pest, we had access to things like clothing and most of our furniture during the eight-month ordeal. And on the plus side, the dog was cute.
