I wouldn't bother comin here. Not even if it was the last place on earth, coffee is burnt so DEFINITELY not worth the price they put it at and food is mid. It tastes better when you make it at home yourself. Service is TERRIBLE as well. Loved swinging into this coffee joint while in town. Very upscale and unique menu options, including gluten free pastries, lavender syrup and oat milk - nothing I'd expect to find in the UP. The staff was super friendly and service was quick, which was nice because we were with a fussy toddler. I got a caramel iced latte and it was delicious! Some of the best coffee I have ever had!! Igor an oat milk latte. Seriously so good! Stopped in on our way up to camp for the weekend and was so impressed with the cleanliness of the spot. I was welcomed right away and didn't feel rushed as I thought about what I wanted. The menu was not too big and they had many seasonal items to choose from, along with some food items. I was in town for a very short visit and only had a chance to stop in on my way out of town this morning. I wish I would have had time to sit and relax, but had an 8 hour drive ahead of me. The place was very inviting. The barista had a huge smile and was very friendly when I walked in the door. I had an unusual request-to fill my thermos to keep me fueled up for the drive home. Without missing a beat she filled it up with dark roast-and the cost was very reasonable. It must be a popular place! Before I knew it there was a line behind me, and I missed out on buying a sticker-I want to put it on my thermos! At any rate-it was not what I expected to find in this small town and was pleasantly surprised. Please support small businesses like this one! You ate encouraged to linger, because water is available on every table for you before you even arrive. They should add a maple drink! On a recent trip up to Iron River to visit my dad, we noticed there was a new coffee shop in town to try. I have to say, this place is impressive! The drinks we ordered were excellent and the menu featured proper coffee drinks -- not that Starbucks type crap. I live in Chicago, so I get spoiled with Intelligentsia, The Wormhole, Dollop and other high-quality coffee shops. I would say that the beverage quality of Contrast Coffee is a good contender especially in such a rural location. The interior is welcoming, clean and had an excellent vibe. When we were there, the place was packed and I assume locals love it, too. This business was a pleasant surprise and I really hope it does well. read more

This place is expensive I ordered a black tea and it was 5.95 and it had the tea grounds in the bottom of the cup. I love supporting local business but not when they rip off the local people. After reading the reviews, I was expecting a really great coffee shop experience, and Contrast Coffee blew it out of the water! Their fall menu - I got the Brown Sugar Latte - was perfect for the season. The place has a modern rustic feel and was perfectly decorated. The coffee was fantastic and the baristas were wonderful. My family made almost daily trips here during our stay at Crystal Waters Resort. The coffee is delicious, especially the Almond Maple Latte! In fact all of the signature drinks are delicious. The teas are yummy and they have a lovely berry hibiscus tea concoction for when you've reached max-caffeination. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the decor is rustic but not kitschy. for being located in such a small town, i am blown away at the quality and expertise of this cafe. from the machinery to the decor and most importantly, the coffee-- this place is killing it. the espresso was smooth, full bodied and seemed perfectly extracted. i had an iced latte with honey as well. love that they serve oatly!! they have blended options, tea, breakfast and other goodies too. love the variety. this was my third time visiting, as i'm from rockford, il, but i can't wait to go back! keep up the good work guys! see ya soon! read more
