Pretty discouraging I walked around the store looking for a a ktm1390 to buy that's is a 21600$ bike I walked around for 15 minutes literally with nobody to ask me so much as can they help me . Once I told them that I was looking for help they want to tell me ohh well we have 2 people looking for bikes right now and even though it's 5 people on the floor we can't help you right now . You would think people would want to sell a bike in these times . In this store I would not recommend. My husband and my son spontaneously decided that now was the time to purchase new bikes. My son wanted the CRF450 RL and my husband made a mature decision this time and decided on the CRF250 F. It had been years since we had been here. He called and then visited the showroom. The 450 was in stock and they were able to get the 250 from another location the next day. He told me to just come on down on Saturday morning, it's first come first serve on Saturday. Got there about 8:30 in the morning. Was 3rd in line they had the recall completed by 10:30. The lack of knowledge, and decent customer service is appalling. Employees ignore you and when you try to get someone's attention they are rude off bat. I was gonna buy a bike here today at Contra Costa Powersports but y'all just do not know how to talk to people. I was skeptical when my bud said this wasn't his first option but I now see why.. Just to put it clearly those reps only pay attention for people who "look like they have money or are a particular demographic". That is the impression I got today. I had 20k in cash and you guys were rude, all you had to do was play nice n take my money. I'm writing this as I am now in sac at a different dealership about to cash out on the 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX SE that I ORIGINALLY intended to buy from your dealership today, I know its petty but business is business and you guys suck at it lol I'm gonna enjoy this ride home. We got rid of my husband's bike recently and I had the occasion to reflect upon my bizarre interactions with Contra Costa Powersports. And then I realized that I had only done a review for the first bike explosion!!! Let me be clear- when I referred to his bike "exploding" I was NOT exaggerating. He was in the carpool lane on Hwy 4 when a piston rod broke and shot though the engine. Fortunately he was able to maintain control but he could have easily been thrown off at 70 mph and run over by morning traffic. This was when construction was still going on and there were no shoulders at all. The "only" injury was a few small burns from boiling hot oil seeping through his jeans. That was the used bike that THEY- Contra Costa Powersports- sold him and it was their inspection that "missed" this life threatening problem. I would love to believe that it was just incompetence but their pattern of behavior is malicious. I don't know how to put this but it's as if they don't get that this is "real life" and that skimping on a repair, saving themselves a few bucks, or an hour can literally kill someone. They really don't get this. So of course, the repairs were terrible. They did not complete them. When my husband took it back to have them complete something that Kawasaki thought they had already done, my friend Dave initially refused him service. That is, he said that they would not touch his bike UNTIL I TOOK DOWN MY YELP REVIEW. There were vague threats about taking action about my review. After telling them that I was not going to adjust the truth and reminding them that they had already pretended to have done the work, Dave relented. I was done talking to Dave at this point. Ugh. So, fast forward to the second explosion. Yeah- Contra Costa Powersports almost killed my husband twice. Again, not exaggerating. It is heart dropping to get a phone call from your bike riding spouse that just starts out "I'm ok- I'm fine, I wasn't hurt." This time, the engine exploded while he was on the Bay Bridge in morning rush hour. He was that guy- blocking a lane and making everyone's commute longer. This time, while our experiences with Dave had been so enjoyable, we had it towed to a shop in Hayward. Major shout out to Ryan with the service department!! I was rude to him at first because I was so anxious about dealing with a bike shop again after the insane fiasco with my pal Dave. But Ryan was wonderful and repaired the ENTIRE bike. See, Contra Costa Powersports had ONLY repaired the parts of the bike that were destroyed in the first explosion. They did not repair things so that the parts that work in tandem would have the same wear. It's like putting a new brake pad on one tire and leaving the worn ones in place on the other three tires.... it's not going to work as well. Or at all! And wouldn't you know it? Major parts need to wear at the same rate. So if Contra Costa Powersports had actually done the work that they billed Kawasaki for, my husband's bike would have (probably-they still do bad work with other things!) not tried to kill him a second time. read more

My lady bought my motorcycle here and later decided riding wasn't for her. The bike had only minor damage from a single drop, and she never rode it after that. When she brought it back to sell, they gave her a very low offer but told her to come back during motorcycle season when they could supposedly offer more. she trusted that advice, but each time she returned, the offer got lower -- not higher. By the third time, they gave her the lowest offer yet. Each visit, they tried to justify it by saying how much it would cost them to replace the same minor damages. The thing is, the damage never changed. It was only an excuse to keep lowering the price. She wont write the review but I will. At the end of the day, I felt they dragged her along because she is female. When she would question them, the answers were inconsistent and bull.. If you're thinking about selling a bike here, be aware. Our experience was frustrating, inconsistent, and left her feeling taken advantage of. read more

This dealership went above and beyond to help a traveling biker. We were traveling from Maryland to San Francisco. The temperatures coming from Nevada to California reached 116 degrees at some point. When we arrived at the hotel I noticed my 2018 Goldwing Tourer had a very bad wobble. We inspected the tires and found out I had a separated belt in my rear tire causing a bubble in the tire. The next day (Friday) at 9am we got on the phone trying to find a tire. It was challenging to find a dealership open because many opened at 10am. We were unable to find a tire. Every dealership we called didn't have a tire until we call Contra Costa Powersports. Ces Morse in parts heard the despair in my voice and he said let me see what I can do. He check his inventory and YES!! HE HAD ONE. Then he connected me with service manager Erick Hulsey who told me if I got it there he would get it installed when I arrived. We made the 35 mile trip with no incidents. When we arrived Ces had the tire waiting and Erick got me right in. Yes, they took a bike off the lift to get me back on the road. (I ended up getting both tires) Let me say this. I too own a Harley Davidson and when it has had problems on the road Harley gives you TOP PRIORITY when traveling. I can now say Contra Costa Powersports gives Honda owners the same courtesy. They give travelers TOP PRIORITY. I want to say thank you to this dealership and ALL ITS EMPLOYEES. Took my bike in for a carbeurator tune, it still ran bad when I got it back. I took it back to them and after getting it back again it was the same. Took my carb apart and found metal shavings inside the bow from what looks like someone jammed it onto the carb. I will not do business here again and do not recommend it for your 2 stroke dirtbike. read more

Was pretty disappointed coming into the store. I was walking around the sales floor for about 25 minutes and not one time did any of the guys greet me or asked me if they could help me. I noticed that 1 salesman was helping a family of 3 Buy 3 bikes. All the other sales guys were hovering over that transaction. At one point one of the sales guys came up to another customer and said "sorry for ignoring you, when you have a transaction like that, you give 100% of your attention to them." And this guy wasn't even the salesman getting the sale... After 30 mins of waiting to talk to someone i finally got approached by someone, only to be told to move my keys so they wont scratch the bike i was sitting on. My keys were on my right hip belt loop completely out of the way... then the dude walked away. The next time a sales guy came to talk to me was to tell me not to shift the transmission. I guess making sure the bike is in neutral is a bad thing at this place. I just came from SoSo cycles and the moment i walked in the store i was treated like family. Arrogant staff!!! Salespeople are not knowledgeable, and not at all helpful. (The parts guys aren't terrible.) Generally, sales staff are dismissive and terrible at communicating and have a hard time returning phone calls. Basically, I would avoid this dealership and look elsewhere for better service. When you're buying a motorcycle, you're going to have to maintain it, and you might want a dealership that will support your ongoing needs. ... And one day maybe you going to think about trading that bike back in. This group is very short sited. They carry cheap new offers, like CF moto, which sound nice, until you need ongoing service or want to trade it back in. Which they are not really interested in. (I don't own a CF moto but thought it was telling choice of manufacturer to carry.) CF is relatively new to the market a lower Chinese brand, they started importing in 2002 and are best known for their relationship in 2017 with the now failing KTM manufacture. I do own a KTM. ... A nice brand that is getting sucked under by bad associations. Be careful who you deal with. read more

Bait & switch at the parts counter. I called for a very specific fluid and the parts person told me they had it. I came in the same day, two hours later, and the parts person had no clue if they had it or where it would be. He and I both looked on the shelves where the fluids are but neither of us could find it. The person went into the back, returned, and said they don't have any. I said when just called, someone confirmed it was in-stock, but they just looked at me with a blank stare. I asked them what alternatives they had and got an overly enthusiastic recommendation for something much pricier. Another parts person, who was standing next to us the while time, suggested that maybe they sold out (in the two hours) between the time I called and came in. But the shelves were full--there were no empty spots or labels where it would have been--it just sounded like he was trying to dig himself out of a lying hole. So I drove almost 4 hours to check out my dream bike, which was Kawasaki ZX10R with my family But I was treated very disrespectfully by Lance the Sales Manager, and he told me to get out of the dealership when I literally had a whole cash to buy out the bike. I gave them $300 below offer on $20000 bike without saying anything, he just told me to just get out of the dealership and disrespected me. When me and my whole family came within an excitement to get a new motorcycle, I had a five year old kid and my wife waiting in the car for a good news. This is the most disappointing experience I ever had noone has ever treated me like this I bought a lot of cars and motorcycles in my life currently have dodge Challenger demon, and Harley davidson oldschool. I always shop for price, quality and service. My wife wanted a Honda 520 as her "wheelchair" around the ranch. I called around and got several arrogant dealers that wanted MSRP plus a lot of add-ons. I bought a '22 Suzuki V-Strom 640XT last year and had a great experience. Bikes like this were in short supply and they kept me informed about the status while I worked out some other challenges. There was little bit of discoloration on the rear rack, which I didn't even notice, and they insisted on replacing it. PARTS/SERVICE PERFORMANCE (minus 2stars) Pls read before purchasing parts and getting service. Super friendly people and they tried hard (thus the 1 star) I got my 2021 Indian Scout Bobber on Aug 2020. End of Sept 2020 I decided to get. 1. Pipes 2. 500 mile svc 3. Smaller lights (front and rear) 4. Larger grips. I met and ordered through Sam (parts mgr) all of the above. He made recommendations, I agreed, I paid in full. 2 weeks passed. All other parts confirmed receipt, No pipes. Ok call back in a week. +1 week I call back, problems w vendor. Ok call back in 1 week. +1 week I call back, vendors have a problem, manufacturer has them. (I offered) "shd I cancel and reorder direct?", (they say) nah we will lose our spot in line and have to wait for additional weeks if we do. (Insert a few more calls to Sam and now also Tim w parts) we are now at end of Oct (Happy Halloween). Multiple calls till mid November and nothing, just more "dunno what's happening" etc.. Well finally after pipes came in just before Thanksgiving. Super excited!! After almost 8 weeks!! After Thanksgiving I bring my bike in dropped it off w Brent. He says 1 week to get pipes on, lights, grips and svc. Coo!! I am stoked. 1st week of Dec. Oooops! #1 The lights ordered only came w 1 light not 2?? (Hmmm??? Ok.) We have to reorder. +1 week. Pipes are on and service done. Ooops#2. The end handle bar lights we ordered wld take some major work and wiring CANNOT do it. (Hmmmm I asked day 1 after Thanksgiving drop off if we can do it, I was told "yup, no probs".) Smh. Ok neva mind. I'd like my bike back pls. 2nd week of December, Oops #3. oh! We can't get the brake lights to work, we have to order a relay? (I said, you guys have ordered the parts 8 weeks ago and just found out now?) Ok. Pls order. I will wait. 3rd week of December. "We cannot do it", "we do not know how", "its not something we have done on an indian or this model before??" I am thinking...they were lights? and I thought these guys were the pros? I initally asked, "if you cld do" I was told yup. them, now, seems this is not something they've seen or done before ?!?!? Hmmm is this is a real service shop or my neighbors garage? (My confidence = low and digging) I say to Eric (Svc mgr) its like me going to a doctor for a simple tonsil removal and appendectomy and you guys forget to get blood and order the wrong blood type and then telling me this is the first time you've done this?!? Not very confidence instilling. CHRISTMAS came and went. (3rd Holiday gone) finally my bike was delivered Dec 30th..just before New Year !! If you are asking, was everything terrible? Then why the 1 star?? Well here are some good stuff to mention, just to be fair...... Sam took responsibility/accountability for ordering incorrectly, the service guys seemed really nice guys, just confused and maybe "new" at installing or working on my type of motorcycle??? Brent was nice, Tiffany (took my payment over the phone was also nice) Dave shop manager was apologetic, offered options, finally, he just offered to bring my bike to an Indian dealership, bcuz no one in the "shop" knew how to do it ?? ( guess thats better than them trying and f'n things up ) and they delivered my bike to my front door free after 3 months + since I started and 1 month + after my drop off......at the end of the day I JUST WANTED MY BIKE BACK!! Seems they did a good job w pipe, grip and oil service....everything else was a fail. Lesson: Nice people. Parts ordering terrible and unreliable. Service is adequate, Service knowledge suspect. NOT very versed with anything outside of common normal work. Oil change, instal of pipes = good. They try. Thus 1 star. After reading all that, and you still go...I say. Good luck. I hope my experience was a fluke and not the norm (although, you might read some of the Google comments also) you have been advised. FIRST TIME BUYER BEWARE!!! UNHELPFUL AND RUDE STAFF Walked in to look at some bikes and ask some questions, got a super cocky vibe from the 2 salesmen from the get go. One of them asked if he could help me, I then told him I was looking to get into riding and wanted to know what a good starter bike would be. His demeanor immediately changed from "overly helpful salesman" to speaking to me like I was a child or someone with a learning disability. His so-called "advice" was telling me that I should watch videos on YouTube to educate myself first. Little did this guy know, I have been researching bikes for months and they had 2 of the specific models I'm after. I was still trying to ask him some questions when he abruptly said "thank you for coming in to take a look have a great day". I went in there with the intentions of asking about financing options with a good chance of making a purchase. This guy definitely lost out on a sale because he was so quick to rush me out of the building. I was in the market for an EV motorcycle and reached out to Zero about test rides in my vicinity. Next day I received an email from Rob who told me about the Zero Motorcycles they had in stock and available to test ride. I informed Rob that my justification for an EV moto was that as long as the monthly payments are less than what I'm spending in fuel per month, then I would technically be saving money (as long as I ride the EV motorcycle throughout the week). After crunching some numbers on the brand new Zero Motorcycles they had in stock, Rob informed me that the monthly payments would be higher than what I was paying in fuel. Knowing what I was looking for, Rob sent me information on a pre-owned 2016 Zero SR that they had in stock that met my criteria, correct pricing, EV, decent range for commuting. When I eagerly walked through the doors of the dealership Saturday morning I was immediately distracted by the brand new Zero SR, SR/F, SR/S, and DS. I forgot all about my plan to save money and was trying to justify buying one a new one. Through our conversations over the phone and via email, Rob already knew that the main purpose of my visit was to spend money to save money, and ride an EV motorcycle for the first time. Knowing that I was excited to test ride one of their Zeros, Rob immediately got me setup to test ride the pre-owned Zero SR that he had sent me earlier. After the test ride I was amazed with the performance. The Zero SR had similar power to a 2 cylinder 600! I liked it so much that I wanted to buy a newer Zero, which Rob was supportive of, but he reminded me of my main goal (to save money) and why I walked through the door that day. The pre-owned Zero SR made the most sense and I ended up purchasing the bike along with a 2 warranty. With the warranty the SR came out to be less per month than what I spend in fuel alone. The bike fit perfectly into what I was looking for. The entire purchase process took a few hours (due to communication errors with the financing institution), but during the down time I got to know Rob and had great conversation the whole time. Personable, knowledgeable, professional. Rob is top notch, caters to your Moto wants/needs if you mention them, makes sure that your comfortable, doesn't try and force you into anything, and is extremely helpful. Highly recommend Contra Costa Powersports, purchase from Rob if you can. If not, I'm sure everyone else is great too! This place is THE BEST! I had a bike I had to move ASAP, but I don't live in Contra Costa County and had few resources around me to help me out. My Shorai lithium ion battery was dead enough that the lights on the bike wouldn't even turn on, and I couldn't find any bike shop that sold the charger (Shorai has a special connector). The awesome people at Contra Costa Powersports came to the rescue and offered to charge it in the shop, and even told me a great sports bar to wait the next couple of hours. 100% great service with the friendliest people ever. Decided to give the service dept a try since the sales dept was a bad experience for me. Came to get new tires and they delivered a MUCH better experience. Got a nail in my rear tire with about 500-800 miles of tread left on it nd decided to just get 2 brand new tires. Called Friday and got a quote for all my bikes recommended tires. Then called Tuesday to set up a appt to get the work done. Parts had to order the tires and told me they could have it by Wednesday. Service dept said they could see me Wednesday. Brought my bike Wednesday dropped it off and went the the near by mall area. They had the work done in less than 2 hours. They even charged it to 75% (when I got there it was about 45-50%) Parts and service dept were a solid experience. read more

Worst service department I have ever dealt with. Please read before having the CCPS service your motorcycle. I am not really a person to write a review on any service. Since the service I received from CCPS is in the negative stars, I thought this was necessary to show the future customers and the future service department to use this as a tool. I took my CB500X to be tuned, serviced, and have a few parts installed on the motorcycle. Before I left, I made both Brent (Assistant Manager for the Service Department) made sure that all the parts are set and ready. Brent told me that that all the maintenance needed, and installation of extra parts will take about 4 hours. I dropped off the motorcycle on Wednesday at noon of 6/16/21. I was told motorcycle will be ready for pick up on Friday the 18. I called the service department on Friday the 18th and this was the beginning of all different types of excuses used why the motorcycle was not ready. Not only that, but there was also a list of additional projects (wire in the GPS that I already installed) that I wanted done to the bike on the day that I dropped it off and it was not relayed to the technicians. This was the time the I lost all confident on their ability to even service my motorcycle. Listed below are the list of reasons why there were delays. -The tech is having trouble with the electrical systems. That can happen specially if you are new. -We have the wrong parts (even though we (Brent and I) checked everything before the project began). -Some technicians called in sick. That can happen. -And then 6 more days later, they were still having trouble with the electrical. On 6/24 (6Days later), I requested for them to stop whatever they were doing. I told them that I needed the motorcycle because I had a trip planned. On 6/24, 4:00PM when I picked up the motorcycle from service department both Brent and Eric were at the desk. Neither one of them wanted to make eye contact with me. Brent somewhat looked busy with the computer and Eric had his feet up watching a video on YouTube. As a matter of fact, he even paused for a sec and called one of the technicians from the shop floor so they can share a funny video. I just sat there and waited for Brent to be done because Eric was busy having fun sharing funny videos. After my initial inspection while motorcycle was still at CCPS, I observed that the center-stand and the engine guard that I requested were not installed-not surprise at all. I had my tires changed from road to dual sport. I asked for the front road tire back since it still had plenty of tread. That did not happen since they threw it out. How many strike-out will this service department get in one day? With minimal confidence on service department ability to do things correctly, I had to inspect their work once I got home. This is the last list for this review, I promise. -The heated-throttle looks like it was glued shabbily. -GPS Unit wired directly to the battery -The heated grips were hot-wired directly on the battery. Anyone who worked on any 12V DC will know that you need a relay to prevent any battery damage. These guys are supposed to be pro-technicians. In conclusion, I am not putting the whole service department of CCPS on blast. I am sure that they have good motorcycle technicians working there. The people I dealt with in CCPS service department treated me like a second-class person. With that said, I will avoid going there again to get anything done to my motorcycle. read more

My husband and daughter just went in to purchase a bike possibly 2. He really wanted to get a new dirt bike for himself and a 50 for my daughter. My husband has really been antsy to purchase but his work schedule has been crazy so today was the day. Unfortunately it will not be here at Contra Costa Powersports. When he went in no one greeted him and there were several sales people on the floor. Instead,he was embarrassed when a sales person loudly yelled at him from across the store for putting his leg over a bike, instead of coming up to him. This bike did not have anything on it saying not to sit on. He's been there a couple times before so he knows the drill. My husband is very very familiar with dirt bikes and motorcycles. He went to Motorcycle Mechanic Institute, worked at several bike shops, and has helped wrench at Supercross several times. He's not just some random schmuck off the street not knowing anything about bikes. It's just such a shame that he felt so humiliated when he was yelled at that he walked out without purchasing a bike he's been wanting. There might not be a lot of places around to purchase a bike but we will drive out of our way not to purchase here. *This happened a couple weeks ago. Went in for a Suzuki gsxs1000gt+, wanting a blue one. They had black, told me they could get the blue and had it put aside at another dealership. After the deal I anticipated to have it soon. I did buy it on Friday and it took until the next Friday. But then it came with the bags which are hard to come by and thought I wouldn't have them for a while. That was a nice surprise. Overall not a bad experience. I recommend them for sure. read more

I brought my 04' 525EXC KTM in. It was having a idle and sputtering problem. I asked them to do a deep clean on the carb and check the fuel needle that was leaking, no big deal. Was told it would take two weeks. After three weeks it was, this needs replacement (accelerator pump), then that needs replacement (air fuel mixture screw- asked for this already). I was not paying attention to the adding up cost. Long story short after 2 months, $800+, I now need a new Carburetor because a bolt is stripped out. It was not that way when I brought it in there. I feel like when they took the carburetor out they should have informed me of this right away but waited until the week of pick up. I was SOL. Just a fellow heads up, unless you bought your bike from this place do not take it here. Very unhappy and frankly considering taking this further because I am fairly confident whoever worked on my bike stripped the bolt out for they worked on the carb putting it in, then taking it out. Like I said this was not reported within the first diagnostic and took 2 months to be told now I have to replace the whole carb after they charged me labor and parts on the current one. TOTAL BS. Worst part is they did not even offer a solution, just, come get your bike and it will cost you about a $800+/-. read more

I purchased a used 2021 Honda PCX 150 that had never been serviced. Having been a motorcycle owner for many years in the East Bay area, I had heard about Contra Costa Powersports and had visited once to look at a new PCX, but had never used their service department. Since they were the closest Honda motorcycle dealership, I decided to have them do the necessary service. I made an appointment with Eric Hulsey, Service Manager. He said that the service would take about 1-2 hours. They completed the service in 1.5 hours. The job appeared to be complete and thorough, but at about $250, a bit expensive. (A sign of the times?) When I picked up the bike, Eric and another service technician gave some advice on the care and feeding of the bike and ended the discussion with their recommendation to ask questions and get their assistance if I need it. That attitude is good service and good for business. I recommend this company. read more
