Baked haddock much better than the salmon.

Saturday my wife and I decided to go back to the Continental to try the weekend buffet. We arrived just after 1 pm as the lunch rush was slowing. Everything looked to be refilled with only the prime sushi showing signs of shortages. I miss some of the good choices to a customer before me who "loaded up" leaving only the rolls behind. Luckily the sushi chef came back and started restoring the sushi section while I cruised the hot food. Best of the hot food were the ribs, fried chicken wings, chicken teriyaki and baked haddock. The steak and rib eye beef were alright as long as you grabbed them when they came out. Cold shrimp were okay. Our total bill with ice water came to $55. The staff were friendly enough but tended to be distracted. My wife was very happy finding the hard ice cream section! All in all better than expected. So if you shopped the selections you can get your money's worth.

    Delicious food

Good food nice friendly people that works there. Definitely coming back again. This will be easy decision to do.

Had a wonderful time tonight at the Continental Restaurant! My sister turns 65 on Tuesday so I took her out for Mai Tais and appetizers - we didn't get the buffet because we weren't that hungry. The food was excellent - we got Peking Raviole - pan fried - and the best I ever had! And an appetizer platter that consisted of yummy chicken wings, boneless spare ribs, and chicken and beef teriyaki ! Everything was delicious including the Mai Tais - strong just the way I like them! Our waitress Jasmine was excellent - very professional and friendly - she was happy to answer our questions. I hadn't been here since Yangste closed but I can say that I will definitely be back. We had a great time!! Thank you!

1st visit since opening. Smelled weird inside of restaurant. Mediocre foods. No difference from great buffet in Newington. Don't think I'm coming back.

Owner treats customers as an inconvenience rather than a guest. Service is slow. Drinks are good but smallest in town.

Two days prior to writing this review, a YouTube channel by the name of "Company Man" posted his…read morevideo essay called "The Rise and Fall (...and rise again) of Golden Corral." Which prompted two things in my brain: 1.) I haven't been to a Golden Corral in years (not since living in Texas, at least); and 2.) I should look to see where the closest one is to me. Lo and behold, turns out...my original assumptions of the nearest one most likely being somewhere in northern Mass were incorrect. There is, in fact, a newly renovated GC right in our midst - in good ol' Manch Vegas! And man, have they upgraded! It would seem there is a great deal of truth in that video essay by Company Man. Because it appears over the years, the management at GC have been hard at work upgrading the ever popular buffet restaurant. Not only are both the dining area and buffet room completely contemporary by 2025 standards; the payment system is updated as well. See, in the past, I usually had to endure the "joy" of making sure to have small bills on my person so that I could aptly tip the servers. But now...GC did something I *never* expected. In addition to facilitating contactless payment options, they allow you to charge an additional dollar amount of your choosing for the specific purpose of getting cash back to tip your server. This concept is awesome on so many levels that I can't believe more places that charge dining up front don't do this. I've often pointed out in past reviews that if cash tip only restaurants made it easier for customers to tip servers (be it via credit card or cash back), we'd be more willing and able to do it. So, why aren't more places doing it this way? Don't know! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Now, as you can see from the photos, the dining room and buffet area have been drastically updated. Or at least....since I last visited one years back. The aura is generally brighter as a whole and the tables don't seem as crammed together as before (I suspect, in part, due to the Covid years). Another thing I noticed almost immediately is how the buffet size seems slightly scaled down, whilst still offering a generously vast selection. But again, I'm comparing this to the one I used to visit frequently back in Texas so....take this with a grain of salt (no pun intended). And for those who were wondering, yes - the breakfast still slaps! I didn't notice an omelet station anywhere. Though, I honestly didn't look for one either. It's possible I could have missed it. Oh, GC evidently did away with their traditional trays, too. Just as well, considering they served no purpose in the first place. You still get your drinks immediately upon entry. But I mean, you could always just double fist it if you desire multiple beverages. Since I'm not a huge buffet person these days due to an aging metabolism, I can't say I'd come back here *too* often. But they still are the #1 place I'd visit as far as buffets are concerned. Still holding the top spot in their respective dining category, I'm giving Golden Corral in Manchester 5 generous plates of bacon and eggs out of 5.

The food was good but surprised there are more deserts than vegetables hot to choose from. Seeing…read morecotton candy after a buffet was sad ....service was good.

My friends' son got a cheeseburger - without cheese. I think our server misunderstood when he said, "I would like a plain cheeseburger". He didn't want tomato, lettuce, or onion, but he wanted a cheeseburger. The kids menu didn't include the same veggie sides - the kids wanted corn but that wasn't allowed? I got the baked stuffed haddock, a baked potato, and squash. My friends all got the turkey dinner. You didn't get butter with your baked potato unless you asked for it. (Maybe this was a way to save money and supplies?) One friend ordered the baked potato with butter and sour cream. Perhaps they didn't have sour cream and just didn't want to tell us. I found it interesting there were no dinner rolls. We ordered dessert around 1:10 pm. We waited; and waited. Come to find out - our dessert slips had been lost. My friends' daughter ordered chocolate ice cream with whipped cream and she got chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. My bill was correct. My friends - not so much. This review is challenging because I always spend the holiday with my family but I just moved back to the area and was graciously invited to lunch with my dear friends. They were so busy and I know we are all grateful to have had this option of eating out on this holiday. I felt bad for all those people waiting to be seated because they were so behind schedule. We were seated at 12:10 and left at 14:00. Maybe this was a test run for the owners of the restaurant. Practice makes perfect! Thank you for your kindness and meal. The seafood stuffing was very good. I enjoyed the grape nut custard pie, as well. I wish you all a happy holiday season. The staff were kind - just overwhelmed. We had a great time, though. The atmosphere was fun and relaxing for us.

I think they should have a few other American things on there besides broccoli and asparagus, carrots would be nice, maybe some stuffed mushrooms., street corn. The honey cheese we tried we tried the honey cheese was not that great. I do have to say probably the best thing is the pineapple.. there should be other options for salads. When the buffet isn't available during the day, I sometimes order off the menu, and the food always comes out hot and fresh--I've never had a complaint. My family and I have been coming here for years, visiting the buffet hundreds of times (pre COVID shut down) when it used to run day and night. While I believe the restaurant was better under the previous owner when it was always busy, the new owner is very caring, and the buffet is often excellent. That said, the quality can be inconsistent. If you go an hour or two after the buffet opens, the food can sometimes be lukewarm, soggy, or dried out. There have been times when I've even questioned whether certain items were fresh, or left over from the previous day and reheated. On one occasion, I even complained about a few items that were cold or tough, and to their credit, they made a fresh batch, which was fantastic. The biggest challenge with any buffet is that if food is prepared around 5 p.m., but there aren't many guests, it sits for a while and loses its freshness. Naturally, if you come in later, the quality won't be the same as when it was first put out. Despite this, I love Chinese food and appreciate the variety a buffet offers. Even if a couple of items aren't at their best, there are still plenty of delicious options to enjoy. If you ever come across something that isn't up to the usual standard, I recommend politely letting them know--they seem willing to bring out fresh items when asked. This restaurant is located in downtown Rochester, New Hampshire, and not the nicest of neighborhoods. Often times there are people hanging around the front or the parking lot who may or may not be homeless. I've even seen a a person or two that were clearly drunk before. (There is a separate bar attached to the restaurant. Inside the restaurant is very clean. The men's room is old, but usually tidy and clean. And the buffet is well-maintained keeping it clean and presentable. If you've never tried this restaurant, I recommend trying it on a busy night like Fridays. It's best to be there right around 4:30 or 5 PM to get the food as fresh as possible when it is first brought out to the buffet. As always, you can order off the menu and be assured that you will get fresh hot food.
