OK, I was only there once. But... I picked up an older car which I was going to be driving cross country and took it here for evaluation which needed to be done essentially immediately. *My* experience: I had gone to another tire place which recommended replacing only 2 of the 4 tires (which had chunks of rubber de-laminating). Consumer Car Care (CCC) showed me where all 4 of the 10+ year old tires were in bad shape, and sold me 4 highly rated (per Consumer Reports) Kumho tires at the same price the other outfit wanted for 2 Michelins. I really don't need the more expensive brand name. This saved me not just serious $$, but also saved me from a probable blow out. Second, they could have recommended a lot more work than they did. They only changed out the 10+ year coolant and did an oil change. For a car this age which was not religiously maintained, recommending changing out the brake fluid, transmission fluid, belts, and hoses would not have been unreasonable. They checked all of the above and rather than taking a quick profit from someone they were never going to see again, they were honest. 5 months later, no problems. Based on my experience I would highly recommend CCC, trusting both their recommendations and quality of work. read more

Took my car into consumer car care today because there was oil in my driveway. I had taken my car there previously because they have always been honest with me. Dropped it off after speaking to the owner Dave. I get a call later saying they had cleaned the area where the oil was dripping, I think he said the leak could of been around the crankshaft, and they drove the car And couldn't see the oil dripping anymore. He asked me how often I drove the car? I told him 200 miles in 5 months. He said sediment could of formed from not driving it and I need to drive it more. He said no charge. Charged me 1,000 for brakes and hoses. After that my car still wasn't running right. Started smelling like gasoline so bad like it was being pumped through my A/C. The smell was just overwhelming. My check engine light came on and my car was acting like it was about to break down constantly. Especially when I go over 40 mph. Dave wanted to charge me $387 but he'd take $80 off of i have him a good review on google. He told me it was a broken hedge cap. I ended up looking this up after I left the shop because of never heard of a hedge cap, because there is no such thing) So, I asked Dave(the owner) if that would fix the problem. He completely avoided my question. Also, while talking to him, he literally walked out the door. He told me to bring the car back on Monday(a couple days away) and he'd fix the "hedge cap" and also see if anything else was wrong. Even though, clearly, something is seriously wrong. I called another shop(complete automotive) and he told me not to drive it and that it could be very dangerous if I did. Can you believe that? Dave let me drive off the lot with a 3 year old in the car and this guy tells me driving it could be extremely dangerous due to the engine acting up and the gasoline smell. Which I thought to but I'm no mechanic. Oh and Dave double charged me for the tow truck he called. Just so happens that I called the same towing company to tow my car to Complete Automotive. It was the same guy and everything and he told me it was a flat rate. Needless too say, it was cheaper. Save your money and the headache, just go somewhere else. I recommend this new place I'm going to. Complete Automotive on Cortez Blvd. Totally different atmosphere. These guys genuinely care about customers. I also asked them about the hedge cap and they said they've never heard of it. Just thought I'd mention that. He literally just made something up to get money out of me. read more

Don't let the name fool you! I took my car there for an OEM AC compressor replacement. They used a cheap reme replacement AC compressor that each time didn't last long in the summer heat and it failed twice Getting them to standby their work was like pulling teeth! You would think that they could have gotten it right after two try's but no that wasn't the case! When they were using the same parts ( a cheap AC compressor) which failed again they refused to replace it. Even the dealer could have done a much better job by using the right parts in the first place with much less hassle. I wasted both my time and money and left there knowing that they were not friends of the consumer. Lesson learned! read more

Never again! Went here last year for an oil change and they over torqued the oil filter cap. Next change it cracked trying to get loose. Yesterday went in for a trans fluid change. Was told busy, needed appointment and out of the brand needed for my car. Set up appointment for today. They called later that day and said product was in, come early if you want. Arrived a little early and was told it would be 2 hours. Left number for them to call if finished early. Came back 2 hours later. Heard excuses about another car's issues and would try to get in soon. Didn't even bother calling to tell me it would be delayed. Took keys and told him I'll never be back. While out working in Spring Hill an hour from home yesterday, after lunch my car wouldn't start. AAA ended up towing it to Consumer Car Care Center (right across the street). David, the owner, was very gracious and told me they would get it running or they would find me a safe way to get home. After just a few minutes, David came to me and said I was all set, it was just a blown fuse and easily replaced. I hadn't even finished my coffee yet! In addition, David didn't charge me a nickel. In this modern world, it's rare to find such honesty and integrity. I recently took my daughter-in-laws car to Consumer Car Care for a check up to see if it was worth fixing. They checked it over completely and told us what should be repaired immediately and what would need to be done in the near future. We then decided to just trade it in and buy something else. They charged us NOTHING for this service and I am sure it took them an hour or two to check it out. They are honest and trustworthy and I highly recommend them for automotive service. And, their prices are about half of what a dealership will charge you. read more

I don't recommend this shop! They took 3 weeks to fix my car and when I got it back it didnt seem to run that much better, not to mention the amount I was charge. They never called me to let me know the progress of my car, I always had to call them and its was always " it will be ready tomorrow" but 3 weeks later. Totally nice guys! A rubber piece of the window frame came out of place this morning on the way to work and the window wouldn't close. Our regular car place was booked today and so we took it to Consumer Automotive. They took one look at it and got the piece back in place free of charge and asked us to come back tomorrow so they could put some lubricant on it that they were out of...I so did not expect that! read more

Honesty and integrity is what most are looking for in any business transaction. If you are looking for someone with the integrity to do the job right the first time, and stand behind their work. And the honesty to keep you informed with respect to the progress of their work, you definitely won't find it with this business! This by far was the absolute worst business contract I have ever been a part of. I took my car in for repairs. It took three days to get my car back which I had no problem with, I just wanted it fixed. The car did not perform well at all, so I again had it transported back to Consumer Car Care Center. After the car had been there two days, I called to get a progress report. I was told they were working on it and they were a little behind. Two days later I called again, I was told the same thing by the manager. Approximately FOUR days later I was passing the repair facility, and saw my car sitting in the parking area, so I stopped in thinking it was repaired. I again was told it was still being worked on. Not one time was I called and given a progress report by the owner. The last call I made, I talked to the office manager, she advised me that the owner would call me right back. After a half hour I made a return call. The owner told me that the car was almost done and they were still working on it. After that conversation, I immediately started making arrangements to have my car transported to another repair shop, When I had the car moved to the other repair facility, I discovered that NOTHING had been done to my car! Best car shop in all of Hernando county. The entire staff is friendly and extremely helpful they always show me what's wrong with my car and talk me though the process. I do not recommend this shop i paid almost $3000 to fix fuel injecter an replace balljoints anctie rods on 96 chevy this guy took almost 2 weeks an when i picked up shock fell off check engine light came back on an had to take back ...these people should not be n buisness...i feel sorry for people that dont know about this ...this so called shop is bad buisness....i this guy is not a professional mechanic...he should stick to oil changes only if they can do that right...i usely dont leave reviews but in this case i believe it was needed...it a shame how shops can rip people like us an still sleep at night read more
