We had a new HVAC system installed in June; by March of the following year it had already failed. We scheduled a technician that was supposed to arrive between 12-5; he arrived at 6:15. Two hours later he still had not fixed the problem and said he was going to need a senior technician. The next day we called and they said they would send someone between 12-5, but again they could not give us a more defined window of time or even let us know if we were near the beginning or end of the route. This time we waited til almost 7pm for them to arrive. After working for an hour they decided they needed to order a part. ETA unknown, I will say that they have been responsive hence two stars rather than one. Otherwise not a great experience. read more

Purchased the warranty and filed a claim for my refrigerator. Tech came out, said he couldn't source the part and it needed to be replaced. Within 30 secs I located the part for sale online at numerous outlets after demanding the part number. Tech refused, and left. After I finished working (from home) I realized the tech left all of my frozen food on the floor. New tech comes out with replacement parts after weeks of arguing with management. The initial diagnosis was incorrect. All of my newly purchased food went bad. New tech orders correct parts. Comes out two more times and eventually fixes it. I try to cancel after the poor experience and I am told I was locked into a contract and cannot get out. They bully me into a $300 buy out. After an entire year, I speak to a manager on the phone who admits it was all wrong, yet gives me only $100 of the $300 back. From top down, this company is full of crooks. read more

Complete A$$ This service company is the worst. They might have been good 7+ years ago when got them but they've gone down hill dramatically. I had them install a new water heater. We've told them we don't have hot water and every time they sent a tech they say there's nothing wrong. The water is still cold and we have to wait 10-15min before it gets warm ... not hot ... warm. After a year we got BGE HOME to come back and they charged us $99 to figure out that THEY INSTALLED the water heater incorrectly and now they want $600 to fix THEIR INSTALLATION. Meanwhile, water is still cold. UPDATE: Had a great conversation with Antoinette who broke down the problem for me. We had a duplicate account with no plan information and she merged them for us. She also told us that unfortunately, while we have whole house coverage including plumbing and electrical, that only allows us to have a 15% DISCOUNT on repairs. Since we're paying over $600 a year I still find that rather unacceptable. We just can't afford to have that kind of expense dumped on us out of the blue .... which I thought warranties were supposed to ameliorate. Instead, BGE(Constellation) Home is acting more like a middle person. The $100 we save in repairs is a spit in the eye vs the $3000 we've paid them since having them install the water heater, which we had to pay for (unit and installation) as well. read more

This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. They appear to be running a scam business. Representative visited my house for attic insulation and we agreed on a service. I provided a 1/3 deposit and rep said I would be scheduled by end of week. It's now a week later and I can't get anybody at the office to schedule my service I was denied a request to speak to a manager or supervisor. I inquired about a deposit refund, but customer service said there was no one at the office who could do that. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told none was available. I was advised to contact my sales rep, but he doesn't answer or return calls. An automated phone system states no ones is available and hangs up on you if you try to call the billing department. read more

I have been a member of this Home Warranty program since 2018/2019. It use to be BGE HOME until it changed to Constellation Home. I became a member only when my water heater, which was purchased from BGE home by previous owner was still under warranty. I called for them to come out and was informed that it was still under warranty. The customer service advisor then, waved the service fee. The service was beyond great, it prompted me to become a member. The services that they render and the cost is remarkable. When I call for service, I am given prompt service appointments and the techs that come out has always been respectful of my home and self. Im big on customer service. Today the tech came out after the original service call last week; in which a part for my washing machine was needed. My washer was still full of water as the drain pump died. The tech drained the washer with shop vac but instead of empting the water in my grass, without me saying anything,he carried it to the street. He had to make several trips. Terrible. I had a home EV charger installed last summer. The process was very cumbersome, involved taking pictures of my garage to show them where I wanted it installed, and they never replied. They never confirmed my appointment and just showed up at my house, and then told me that they couldn't install it in my chosen spot, because there was a shelf above that area - They had my pictures for weeks, so I don't know why they couldn't tell me this earlier. They cut through some drywall in my basement, but then told me they don't fix that. Lastly, they signed me up for some protection plan and I started getting bills a few months later. I have called to cancel it three times, but I'm still getting billed. Absolutely the WORST! read more

I Reached out to the company on April 2, 2026 about a discrepancy in what a technician told me and what customer service told me. I was promised a call back by the supervisor Mr. Fuller the next day by 11am. He has not call me to date. Wow, its been over a month and I can't seem to get a person out here to fix my heat. I'm not sure what constitutes as an emergency to you guys but 3 kids live in my house I have no heat and we've had 14 inches of snow dumped from a raging polar vortex blasting single and teen digits but this has been since before the snowsince then ive been driving by twice saying no parking and they can't get down my alley to my private driveway. I make it down this alley with 22 inch rims having low profile tires on them and seem to manage this with no issues from the first day and on. Nevermind none of my other neighbors seem to have troubles either. I'm tired of excuses and will be filing with the attorneys General,Consumer Affairs Division (PSC/CAD as well as whomever else i find along the way this is ridiculous and at this point constitutes as inhumane.... read more

I made one appointment, they came and charged me for two appointments. They sent an apprentice and the master was on the phone the entire time. They found everything perfect but the next day I had to call for emergency services because they disconnected a drain and water came into my house. I think they forgot to connect it because everything was fine the day before. I am left with many charges and they won't fix that. Not recommended. It seems cheap but then it is very expensive and nasty. read more

Beware of using this company. Back in 2017, when it was known as BGE Home, I cancelled my policy and thought that was the end of it. Then in 2022 I received a past due notice and had to call a couple of times to get it sorted out. Again, I thought it was fixed but it was not. I recently received an email from them with that canceled account number and a $0 balance bill. I'm not sure why I am receiving anything from them when that account was initially cancelled in 2017. This company is a MAJOR headache and untrustworthy. I'm really not sure how I can resolve this if the company refuses to practice ethically. Do not get an HVAC system from Constellation Home. I purchased a $12,000 HVAC system. It was installed Summer of 2024. The system broke the second day. A technician came out within 2-days and repaired it, but the system has NEVER cooled my house effectively. I called and the same technician came out again, and told me to cover my upstairs return vent, but my house is NEVER comfortably cool during the Summer season. I now have a window air conditioner in my bedroom after paying for a $12,000 HVAC system. Do your research, get 3-5 estimates, babysit your installers and NEVER get an HVAC system through Constellation Home. Please learn from my very costly mistake! read more

I was promised two free preventive service visits annually upon sign-up a service plan. When I called to schedule, I was told the plan only covers one free visit per year and I could cancel it to get a "prorated" refund. I cancelled the unused plan after less than four months. Despite expecting a 2/3 prorated refund, I only received 25% of the annual premium back. Their invoices are extremely complicated and confusing. The charges are disorganized and virtually impossible to decipher without significant effort and numerous phone calls. The service plan terms are misleading, and the billing is baffling. Avoid this company to save time and money. read more

Our heat died last Friday. the soonest they could get someone out to look at it was Monday. they ordered parts which are in but it is another 4 days until they vacant install them . so much for placing a priority on longterm service contract customers. I've had a service plan since 2012. I've used the service 15 times. Every time that I need to use my plan, I am offered an appointment 10-12 days out with unreasonable service windows. One window is from 7:30 to when the technicians are for the day, which can be after 7pm. Expecting customers to be home all day for a service appointment is unreasonable. I pay for this service plan and waiting over a week to have issues fixed is unacceptable. Hire more technicians to be able to service clients in 2-3 days. Based on these recurrent scheduling issues, I wI'll no longer be recommending this business to friends and family. read more

He does not know how to talk to a customer like me and keep talking while I am constantly requesting to stop talking over while I was explaining amount of bill is well above what supposed to be. Peter, you are not realizing that you are working at a big public serving company, and you shouldn't be the supervisor or any management roll. Why do I have to give them a star!!!?!?!?!??!? You phuquers came out Dec 1st, diagnosed a bad motor. Simple. Then you didn't order the part. WE had to call to find that out a week later. Ordered? NOPE! WE called to find out you closed that ticket too. 3rd time is a charm, right? Part is in. WE called 4 times to "fit: into your schedule. Mind you we've been without heat and have 2 small kids but for some reason, we're back in line like it was OUR fault. Finally get a supervisor that moves us up a whole day. AM appointment. Nah. You jerks break that too so we cancel our plans to wait for a technician in the PM. He's great. Problem: you idiots ordered the wrong part. Seriously?!?! He tries using a generic truck-motor. Burns up. BTW, all of our OEM cables are now sliced and this is no longer a DIY solution. Called today - 2 weeks without phuquing heat now - and are told there's still no ETA. It's 14 degrees outside and my kids are literally chattering their teeth. I truly hate you. Plumber called saying he was on his way. I asked how long, he said "I'll see you when I see you". 2 hours later he called again saying he couldn't help me because he couldn't find a place to park. I asked for a few minutes to have a neighbor let him use their driveway. He reluctantly agreed, then was annoyed when I had it done. Tried to convince me to wait another week. Once entering my home and tracking lots of snow and salt all over my floors, gave me a price to fix a hot water valve at over $600.00. I said that sounds high and he stated: "It's a flat rate fee, do you want it or not? I have things to do." I am 61, alone and in poor health. I had no choice but to freeze to death if he didn't fix the valve that works with my radiators. I had other questions, trying to learn how to maintain my radiators and what he was doing to them. He ignored all my questions and refused to answer other than to say, "I'm doing something". I will never use them again and if it wasn't 9 degrees overnight, I would have kicked him out of my home. They have my money and that's all they will care about. By the way...Heat still not working correctly and the Furnace guy from this same company was here the day before. read more

Update: Today is 3/7. I am unable to respond to Constellations Yelp response. I have not received any direct messages through yelp. I called again today and was given another false promise that I would receive a call back from John Palmer. If you want to make this right, reach out to John Palmer and have him respond to me or my attorney' letter by 3/14 or my review stays up and I'll see you in small claims court. I canceled my policy with Constellation Home in February 2021. However, in November 2024, I received a letter stating that billing would now be direct through them rather than BGE. This prompted me to review my BGE account in detail, and to my shock, I discovered that despite canceling my policy in 2021, Constellation Home had continued billing me every month. Since I use paperless billing and autopay, I hadn't noticed these charges sooner--especially since they were discreetly placed on the last page of the PDF statement. In November 2024, I contacted Constellation Home to dispute the charges. Several representatives have confirmed that my account notes reflected my 2021 cancellation. However, as of March 6, 2025, I have yet to receive any resolution. Despite numerous follow-ups, I have only managed to leave a single voicemail for John Palmer in the retention department, who has never returned my call. Given the lack of response, I have now hired an attorney to issue a demand letter and will pursue legal action if necessary. This experience raises serious concerns about how Constellation Home conducts business. If they cannot properly handle a simple cancellation and refund, I cannot imagine trusting them with a home warranty claim. It was time to have a new gas water heater installed and I called and they indicated they could send an installation crew out the next day. I was in no hurry and preferred a date the following week. Lou was the installer and very nice, polite and explained all the items that needed to be changed and to bring it up to code for Baltimore County. Lou was efficient and the installation went off without a hitch and had it arranged for Baltimore County to inspect the system in a few weeks. Very satisfied and would recommend them for this type of service and it was priced very competitively. I have already passed on my experience to my neighbors. read more

Constellation customer for years. No heat for over 20 days. The first technician came out on 12/19. He expressed that he did not work on propane heaters and left. The second technician stated that new burners may be needed. The third technician arrived on 12/29 to install the burners. He made no attempt to test the new burners but stated that the previous technician should have known a new system was needed. We were advised that the expected parts would arrive on January 5. No response from the company. We called and were advised that the parts might be in the boxes delivered to their office, and they would confirm. No response. We called again on January 7 and left message. Received a friendly call back from CS Rep and was advised that only 3 of the 4 parts had been received and that we should expect a call from the Expediting Dept within 24 hours. Twenty-four hours later, - CRICKETS. I called again. Now told the number I'm reaching is for new installs only. CS Rep checked anyway. She tells me the burners are on order. Ugh!!! I explain the above to her. She sends me back to a previous number that sent me to her. Now working with another CSR. All Reps were kind, but No ETA to share. Reached out to BBB. Constellation responded to complaint saying a technician was schedule. BBB closed ticket saying Constellation acted in good faith by responding. Technician came and repeated what technician said on 12/29. Still no heat. So far, 25 days without heat and very poor communication from Constellation. NO ETA in sight! Don't believe the 'A" BBB rating. It's time to move on. Obviously, they don't mind losing $$$ to install new equipment and renew their service plans. We're moving on!!! Goodbye Constellation!!!! If you haven't noticed by all of the negative reviews for their new Constellation Home name AND their previous BGE Home name, these guys cannot be trusted. I am a licensed HVAC tech and I recently got a call from my father in law who is not in my area. He has a service contract with BGE / Const Home, and he said they're saying his coil needs to be replaced. He's a plan member so he's getting a deal at $1700.00. They also said refrigerant level was good to go. I go over and look at photos he took of the circa 1980 gauge set the "tech" was using, and based on what I was reading the system was low by a pound or so. Also, looked at the coil, which does not need to be replaced. We can replace the drain pan for $100 and he'll be good to go. Lucky for my father in law he was able to call me for a second opinion. Not everyone has that luxury. I think most people would just trust these idiots and move forward with the $1700 repair. These guys are out for one thing...money. They don't care about their customers and they simply can't be trusted. Beware of these guys!!!!! read more
