Really nice over the phone, and genuinely helpful. I could not believe the price I was quoted either.. I know this stuff goes for $25 everywhere just about, and here its $14 a bag. I'm sure I have been to this store a hell of alot more times than all the low rating trolls. I have purchased nutrients, dirt, trellis and misc stuff for a sizeable garden many times and I never experienced anybody glaring at me. Really? Go back to the city with your crappy attitudes and unrealistic expectations. You probably grow in your apartment closet and think you know everything. God, just because an employee didn't say have a nice day when you left, your going to give a low rating. My experience has been that my questions got answered, advise was given and I got decent prices. ALWAYS look at the date on nutrients you buy. Absolute WORST customer service. Not ONE person working here has any knowledge on cultivating anything. DO NOT go Here to Constantly Growing in diamond springs. I repeat, do not go there. I have had many experience at constantly growing over the past couple months. None of them have been very pleasant. They may have a few over priced products for you but not one person working there will be able to tell you about the products you're buying.! The owner of the store(dark haired lady) is one of the rudest store owners I've came across. Her and her team aren't the best either. It appears that I'm not the only one who has noticed the nasty glares and stares from the younger blonde girl working there. She isn't the friendliest to say the least. Most importantly, not one person working at this store knows whole lot about cultivating plants! I have asked very simple questions regarding priciest that that have on their shelves, and the employees had no idea what I was talking about. After going a few times, I came to conclusion that This was absolutely not the store to go to if you're a new grower because they have zero interest in helping or leading you in the right direction. Every employee has very minimal knowledge about basic horticulture...I've never been asked if I needed any help finding anything or even have I been acknowledged when coming into the store. NEVER BUY A PRODUCT YOU MAY NEED TO RETURN FROM HERE! Wow, not sure I've ever ran into a business that operates with such a lack of ethics. They refuse to stand behind the products they sell, they are misleading with their "sales pitches" and outright rude if you try to reason with them regarding their lack of service. Products are overpriced compared to other shops and according to the employees they don't have some key product lines because "the owner doesn't get along with some of the distributors". Overall if you have a choice, or need some knowledgable advice, I would seek out a shop that cares about their business image, and customers. read more

Just read all the reviews and was surprised to read so many negative reviews concerning customer service and employees lack of knowledge on products. I've been going to Constantly Growing for 5 years now and have not encountered any of those above mentioned issues. Not the first bad experience, but it will be the last. Pulled up today for some soil. From previous purchases we know to park at the loading door. I went inside to pay while husband talked to loading attendant. I saw a blond women in the parking lot but didn't know she was an employee. She might have just had an unfriendly face but she seemed to be glaring at us. I walked into the shop and saw no one. Stood there for a few min and walked back outside, saw no one. Walked back in to the blond women asking me "what do you need", she should and could have said " good morning how can I help you"? After paying and leaving, my husband told me his interaction with her. As I was waiting in the shop and the dirt was being loaded she asked him "are you going to pay for that"??? She could and should have said, "Hi Sir would you like to follow me in to the register I can take care of your payment" He responded with yes my wife is inside, which the lady already knew because she was in the parking lot when we pulled up. The zinger. My husband was wearing a poltical t-shirt which the blond misunderstood as being against her own poltical views. Once she realized it wasn't she felt it nessacary to say if it had been what she originally though she would have kicked us out. We live in an extremely red county. If you want to ban those customers from your store you won't last long. Good luck. read more

I will say they are always changing employees and one employee smelled of alcohol a couple of times he helped me. Which I think is unprofessional. Overall a good store and is in town. read more

I visited this store with high expectations. There are three of them from Sacramento to Placerville, and they carry some of my favorite brands. Unfortunately I was sadly disappointed. I was looking for a microbial solution for my outdoor garden and am very passionate about gardening. The clerk I found gave me very short answers and seemed to have very little knowledge about gardening. If he did have knowledge he definitely didn't have any passion. He first tried to sell me a product that you mix with the soil before you plant your garden. I explained why this didn't work for me and then he showed me the Tea Microbials they had. I said that would work and checked out. After I paid for my product there was an awkward silence where the clerk would usually say have a nice day or something. Instead he began to get back to unboxing his products that just came in and left me with no parting words. Now that I am home I noticed that there is a date on the cap of my Tea. The date is two days old. Is this the expiration date or the date it was made? Given their lackluster service I am hesitant to even call and ask. They may still be trying to stock the shelves and may not have time for paying customers. read more
