And they promptly pulled the permit and were able to schedule the city inspector the very next day. So far, so good. But the plumber who came out showed up in a badly damaged van that had been sideswiped by another vehicle and which was quite dirty and haphazardly packed with tools and supplies. But the plumber was friendly and so I gave him the benefit of doubt. But, right away, he had great difficulty draining the 6 year old water heater being replaced due to a slow leak. After several trips to his van for more tools, he brought in an incredibly filthy shop wet vacuum to help drain the water heater. I even commented to him that it was incredibly dirty and looked to be in disrepair. In turning it on, this wet vacuum began to dump large amounts of dirt onto the floor and spray dirty water that got all over everything including my white walls. He tried to keep that from happening by applying rags to stop the spraying. But, he clearly should never have used this incredibly filthy wet vacuum. To his credit, He did try to clean up the mess with a roll the paper towels that I supplied him. But I clearly needed to bring in a housekeeper just to clean up the stains on the floor and the walls that he had caused. The other thing that happened was that he kept having to go back to his truck to get tools that he admitted he had forgotten. Because we were in a high security condominium building, I had to escort him every time, burning up my time and his on a "time and materials" job. To his credit, he deducted the time that was wasted in these multiple trips and in attempting to clean up the mess he had created from the final bill. And he was very pleasant with me during the entire job which he did fully complete.

Scheduling was easy, and the customer service rep clearly explained their time-and-materials pricing, which I appreciated compared to other plumbers I contacted. They arrived within the scheduled 4-hour window and gave both a call and text when they were on the way. Jesse, the technician, was courteous, professional, and ready to tackle the issue right away. He did such a great job on the initial repair that I had him fix an our second unit as well. It's clear he knows what he's doing. Overall, I think I've found my go-to plumbing company in Clearwater

I needed a repipe after learning about a massive slab leak. It took a few days without water before…read morethey could make it out to start the work. Due to previous remodeling, they were able to get one bathroom functional in a couple of days. That was the good part. The rest of the work was sloppy, running piped ON the laundry room walls, kitching piping on the outside of the house. They were sloppy in cutting access holes in the walls and while they had indicated they would fix all that, they did not . They left drywall dust and insulation, tracking it through the house. Dirty hand prints on walls, doors and ceiling and cigarette butts everywhere outside, even after being asked to not drop them. I was pressured for final payment before it was all finished, probably why they didnt finish after payment. I would NOT recommend them under any circumstances.

James was sent and my girlfriend and I found him to be very friendly and knowledgeable. Trying to track down the problem (a foul sewer odor) when the washing machine was used was a process of elimination. There was a washing machine drain installation improperly done years ago that James saw and the thought was that the sewer gas was backing into the utility room particularly after doing a good number of loads of laundry. James corrected the problem and brought it up to code. His work was extremely neat and precise. Sadly for us the problem continued and James spent a good amount of time trying to snake the line and drop a video camera down. The drain line wasn't freeing up and the camera showed that there was still waste in the line which should have passed with the snaking. The thought was the perhaps the line broke somewhere down the run and we decided to take a few days to explore the options. It turned out the sanitary line in the complex started overflowing and what the property manger claimed was my girlfriend's problem was really the landlord's problem. I brought this to the attention of Jennifer from Jones and Sons, even though James had invested his time and materials on the job Jennifer was so pleasant and understanding. She asked for me to be patient and she would call me back the next day. James called me the next day and he was as nice as can be. Mind you his business card has him listed as "Uncle James" and lol that what I started calling him from the beginning. His words to me were " I want you to be happy, what can I do to make you happy? " We spoke and he really listened and we came to a very fair resolution. In reality James is like your uncle, your favorite uncle! Jennifer and James are the nicest people! I highly recommend Jones & Sons for who they are as people.

Seeking a second opinion, a competitor diagnosed the issue in just 15 minutes, replaced the thermostat, and vacuumed the duct--all for under $300 and completed in less than an hour.  The stark contrast in service and pricing made me suspect that the first company's assessment was overly pessimistic and potentially a scam for a quick buck.
