Connie is a unique experience, sipping cocktails aboard an old TWA plane. It was a long ride from my Manhattan hotel room, but it was worth it. As a history buff I enjoyed experiencing this slice of history. You board in the front of the plane and can take a look into the cockpit. The bartender is in the back of the plane, and she served me a perfectly mixed double Bacardi & Coke and my friend a perfectly mixed double Tito's & Club Soda. We also grabbed some chips with our cocktails. The only downside was the price of the drinks. If the drinks were more reasonably priced I would have stayed longer and put a return trip on my calendar. read more

My husband and I visited the TWA Hotel and Connie Cocktail lounge on our 7 hour layover at JFK. What could've been just a boring layover day, turned into one of the most fun and memorable days of our honeymoon. The Connie Cocktail Lounge is super fun for one drink. Be transported on this retro TWA plane. Connie does not take reservations, it's first come, first serve, so we were sure to get on the "tarmac" when it opened at 4pm. You can also rent out Connie for private parties. A couple things to note - cocktails are $17, they do offer prepackaged bar snacks, when we went on a Wednesday there was only 1 bartender so you may have to wait on line, and some parts of the plane are toastier (or chiller) than others. It's definetly more of an Instagrammable, retro expereince than a posh one. But a fun memory and worth the spend in our opinion. read more

Definitely a cool place for photos. The bar is on a '60s plane. You can feel it rocking a little though. There were some tables outside. I tried the Paper Plane and Control Tower Sour. The sour was sweet and tasty. There weren't trash cans. read more

A truly unique cocktail bar experience. Connie is a 1958 Lockheed Constellation aircraft, located at the historic TWA terminal at JFK airport. The plane has been transformed into a cozy themed bar, serving retro inspired $17 cocktails and airline themed snacks. The interior is a well-executed time warp, and it really feels as if you are on a plane. Connie is open to the public; you do not need to be a hotel guest to enter. The space is quite small, and they do not accept reservations, so be prepared to wait for a seat during busy hours. On a Friday, the plane was bustling. If you are claustrophobic, this may not be the place for you. My husband and I tried two bourbon based cocktails. The Eero Dynamics included Demerara, and orange and angostura bitters, and the Paper Plane had Amaro, Aperol, and lemon. We preferred the latter, but neither were particularly good. What's not to love about this bar it's in a retro TWA plane. The drinks were great staff was friendly and it was so much fun!! The only thing I would change is if they provided real glasses not plastic because how cool would it be to have a nice shaken martini in a real glass served up! This is definitely the place for photo opportunities. There is not a dress code but it's fun to dress it up and have a cocktail as people would do when traveling in the 50s. read more

The Connie Lounge is located in the TWA hotel in Terminal 5 JFK. Take the elevator from the arrivals on the ground floor to the TWA and when you get to the hotel lounge ask for the Connie (the nice staff will direct you), you'll have to leave the building and take the ramp passing underneath the tunnel you actually walked in to get to the hotel. Do not be afraid by the smell of "cheese" once you get into the plane, the smell will dissapear very quick. I tried the TERMINAL 5 cocktail which is actually a good negroni. Of all the stupid speakeasy/mixology bars I've been to, this is definitely up there with the most unique and noteworthy. Connie is a repurposed TWA Constellation that the TWA has outfitted as a bar. Walking outside under the curiously low tube that connects the hotel to the jet terminal is weird, but after that the approach up to the plane is awesome. You walk up the big ass steps, and then you're in a beautiful, red cocktail lounge. Beats the hell out of a fake phone booth with a "secret" door any day of the week. Service was pretty perfect. The space isn't huge granted but it is long and narrow, and they hit a perfect balance of checking in and leaving you alone. The host also knew all the reservations including who was celebrating what. I got the old fashioned, and my wife got the margarita. Both were great and not skimping on booze at all. The drink menu wasn't particularly inventive, but it did fit the retro environment. We got prosecco for our anniversary which was a nice touch. We got the smashed avocado as well which was good to munch on. All food is run fro the same kitchen as Paris Cafe, which kind of sucks for the servers but does help with the quality. If you have time before your flight at this terminal or are staying at the TWA hotel, this is a must visit at least once. They could've easily mailed this in but didn't. I definitely will be back again. One of a kind! read more

When I heard that TWA had opened a hotel in JfK and it had a bar inside of a plane I knew I had to check this out. I went on their site and made a reservation for two. If you drive they have valet parking or you can park in terminal 5. to be honest both options are super expensive but I guess its part of the experience. We decided to park ourselves, then headed into the JetBlue baggage claim and look for signs to TWA signs that leads you to elevator. The elevator itself was super cool since the button for the hotel stated you were going back in time to the 60s. Once you exit the elevator you are inside the hotel and the first thing you see is the original desk of the president of TWA and a replica of his office. Then you take this long cool looking red hallway (This hallway was in the movie catch Me If You Can) at the end of it you make a right and then another right pass glass double doors to go outside. At first I felt like I was in the wrong place but if you continue walking towards your right you will see Connie and she is beautiful. It feels a little odd being in a runaway since usually this is a big no no. After you admire this beautiful plane and take plenty of pictures for your social media then you can go up the stairs into the plane. Once inside you are transport back to 60s. All the workers wear retro clothing and the furniture is super cool. We were seated right away and given a menu. I decided to have an old fashioned which came in a really cool small bottle that sort of remind me of what medicine used to look like. The drinks are strong which I loved. This experience was amazing and it sucks you have to come all the way to the airport to enjoy it. read more

A 1950s airplane turned into a cocktail lounge!! What could be more fun?? The TWA Hotel at the JFK Airport has really done it with this one. When you venture out back of the terminal turned into a vintage hotel there is a simulated runway that is home to the Connie in all her majestic wonderfulness. I walked up the steps and as I reached the top I turned to wave at my friends "first lady" style. When you first step inside if you look to the left you can take a peek into the cockpit. Next the friendly host staff greets and seats you. Reservations can be made on the website and are highly recommended. There are some seating areas with small tables and others that are more along the lines of traditional airplane seating. The decor is reminiscent of the past. The menu consists of mostly classic and craft cocktails and a few snack options. Waitstaff walks up and down the aisles frequently to make sure you are taken care of. This is truly a unique and enjoyable experience. If you're looking for a different type of outing, this is sure one to try. read more

The drinks were nothing special but the experience of grabbing a drink on a little plane is so luxurious. People were playing games and relaxing with friends. I went on a Friday right when it opened at 4pm, so maybe they didn't have much demand, but they weren't rushing anyone. You got your drink at the bar in the back of the plane and we're left alone to your own leisure. Drinks were typical nyc prices (high teens for cocktails, mid teens for wine). I recommend it at least once if you're ever at JFK. read more

Connie is a super cute idea. I love that it's an untouched plane from the period that has been slightly converted to a bar, albeit and overpriced bar with mediocre drinks. We also paid a small fortune for a bag of snack mix. The ambiance is really great, though and we had a lovely time. read more

This review is purely an aesthetic one, because I was only able to do a walk-through. We were filming inside the TWA hotel lobby and Connie was featured in the background. After we were wrapped, I heard the plane was open for cocktails. I wandered up the steps to see what I could learn about her history. If you walk through the back of the lobby there are posters describing how and when Connie arrived at JFK Airport. It's all very interesting! Head out the back doors, and under the tunnel to access the plane. Once inside you can check out the original cockpit, then walk through the regular airplane seating section to the lounge. It was Valentine's Day so there were only a couple of people ordering drinks. I was exhausted and in no mood for alcohol, so I decided to add this to my "must come back for a proper happy hour" list. Connie was too cool for a brief encounter so I shall return on a day where I can relax and enjoy the experience. I did take quite a few amazing pictures though, so if you're into airplane photography, it's well worth a visit. read more

Her flight was delayed several hours and it became clear that we weren't going to make our dinner reservation downtown. Instead, I decided to make a reservation at the Connie Bar at the TWA hotel (same terminal where my mom landed). Thank goodness there was one spot available at 11pm! This has to be one of the coolest bars I've been to in NYC and I think it would even be worth a trip to come here. The TWA hotel is a throwback to a 1960s style airport and hotel. The Connie bar is one-of-a-kind with the stewardess-style servers and airplane seating. It was a coincidence but it at midnight it turned into my birthday! They servers made it very special for me and offered a glass a champagne. This is a birthday I will always remember and I will be back here soon! :) read more

I was honestly very disappointed with this experience. The staff, the reservation scheduling, and Service were all great... The actual inside experience and way to get into the plane however it is not so much. We came before departing on a separate flight a few hours later during the rain and while the rain is no one else's fault... It's shocking to see that they don't have a covered walkway that leads you to the entrance of the plane, especially considering NY weather isn't so easy. The history of this plane and the brand and everything is so cool to see since I was not alive to fly it. The servers and the ambiance is very retro and feels authentic. I don't think I'll be back, mostly because two drinks cost $40 and there was no food outside of some overpriced snacks. read more

The Connie is a time capsule. Or maybe a time machine. Step inside, and you get to see what a Lockheed Constellation was like in the 50s. There's a bar inside, and a surprising amount of seating. We were there for a wedding (the ceremony took place right in front of the Connie), and I wish they would restrict rando tourists from going in and out of the plane for at least an hour before the ceremony. read more

Such a cool place! I don't think anyone would ever find this place unless they were looking for it. Even when my brother was talking about it with another passenger, I was still confused what TWA was. I guess I'm too young and non-aviation-ist to know about the "glory days" of flying. So yeah, "Connie" is part of the whole TWA exhibit under the JetBlue terminal. You're transported in time - I think about 50 years back. Red carpet, friendly charm, and just gobs of nostalgia crammed into the terminal where I think you can even check in! Really picture-sque spot, complete with a free photobooth, photos ops. and functioning bars. Back to Connie. Connie is the plane that you can go into - and it's a fully functioning speakeasy with bar. We unfortunately were too tired to have a drink before our connecting flight - but man, I would totally come here every now and then if it wasn't so difficult to get there (basically have to Uber to JFK or have JetBlue flight in JFK haha.) I do wonder what the revenue perspective of the place is - it definitely doesn't seem to make money as the whole thing feels like one big secret. But hopefully, there's enough to keep the operation going! read more

Walk through a Saarinen tube from Terminal 5 to the TWA Hotel, or get a taxi or car hire to drop you off at the TWA Hotel Grand entrance for the most amazing spectacle of walking through the lobby, seeing The Vintage Connie outside, and then walking on the faux runway and up the airplane steps to get inside the cozy lounge complete with Vintage cockpit and $16 cocktails. We had a fabulous time on the Connie! Drinks were good, service was great and the atmosphere was like something out of my retro aviation dreams. There happened to be a Pan-Am function at the hotel that evening and a real former PanAm flight attendant sauntered onto the Connie to have a look. She stopped at our table and chatted with us for a moment about the old days and asked me how I got my wings (I explained, rather embarrassed, that the wings I was wearing came with the martini I had at the Sunken Lounge the night before...hers were the real deal!). I really liked Connie Cocktail Lounge if for no other reason than just the retro coolness of the plane and its nice retrofit. This is a great place to go for drinks before or after dinner. There are a few types of seating vignettes and depending on what you choose (or what's available) seating can be comfortable or cramped or even a little awkward. I think the best seats are the standard two seaters - but only those with the table in front. Side seating can be a little too cozy if its crowded. No worries though because whatever the seating configuration is - Connie Lounge is still a fun and unique place for drinks. read more

Don't order something simple. They had to send back to Kentucky to get my bourbon. If your a young person without credit, stay away, it's credit card only. I guess they don't like people that aren't rich. Also watch out for the parking charges. We spent $200 on drinks and dinner and they still knicked us for parking!
