I have been using Achorn's for 20 years in two locations and have been delighted by the customer…read moreservice in their pharmacy at every visit. You may suspect I'm a mature gentleman (even an old fart), and you'd be right. So I remember when there were no chain pharmacies -- no names, please! -- and the sort of personal service those privately-owned establishments offered. I step into Achorn's and back to 1965 -- without the soda fountain, which I must admit I miss. They know my name; they know the medications I take; with a glance at the computer they know which ones have no refills left and happily contact the doctors themselves to get a renewal. If they don't have my medication in stock, they get it within 12 to 24 hours. When special situations arrive, like an extended vacation, they work the insurance company angles to get what I need to be covered during a long absence. In short, I can't imagine how they could be any better! And if you're buying medications covered by insurance, the prices are exactly the same at those larger locations. So please don't go there if you don't already because right now the worst line I experience is one person in front of me!

There's been a handful of stores I'd be a customer in in the years I've lived in this state and…read morestill sometimes go to now and then. This Walgreen's is one of them, but the closer to present day we're talking about, the less frequent my visits have been. I have yet to make a 2026 visit, but I did come just a few weeks before this past New Year when I was trying to complete my shopping for a gift exchange that was happening the next night. If you haven't figured it out yet, this place is one where while I haven't been in recently, I have been in here more than enough times that I can safely say what my thoughts about this place are without any worry they will change anytime soon, if ever. Honestly, this Walgreen's is really just a place I would go to if I really need something simple from there like a gift card, wrapping paper, or maybe even a light snack. I never pick up meds from their pharmacy because I go to a CVS for that. I used to get their soft drinks from time to time until I found cheaper options that were more in line with what I needed. It was never really reliable when I used to eat frozen meals a lot more often in the 2010's. It was always more useful for something like the ice cream bites or the like. As for the inside of the store itself, it's basically fallen in line with other Walgreen's in the state. They're a struggling franchise. While I can still sometimes get what I need from here, the post-pandemic world has certainly not been kind to this location. It also hasn't helped that ever since The SoNo Collection was built this has inevitably taken traffic away from this Walgreen's. Maybe a little too much traffic away for this place to be relevant anymore. I don't mind this Walgreen's and I'll still come in if the situation absolutely calls for it, but I don't know for how much longer this location is going to survive.

I also gave it a 2 because everyone that worked there had NO PERSONALITY. I had a hard time locating the office supplies today and I asked a woman who just stared at me blankly and said "over there." Well thanks, I could have figured that one out myself. When I went to the front to pay, the gentleman behind the counter was staring off into space and did not see me coming. A woman that worked there shouted, "you have a customer," to which he looked at me and I moved forward to the counter. He did not say "hello", he did not say "did you find everything?", he didn't even say "Do you have a CVS card or phone number you would like to enter?" I was shocked. I mean CVS does not sound like the most fun place to work in the world but come on, have a little personality especially if you are dealing with the public all day. On a side note, I went to the CVS up in Glastonbury CT yesterday and the gentleman at the front desk was so peppy and happy, it was amazing. I wanted to come back that same day. He was SUPER excited. I'm not saying that you have to be super peppy when working with the public but a nice smile, a "hello." Anything but blank stares.

Nothing but low class and lazy people you guys have working for you over there.
