I want to be as kind as I can to this company, because I don't know exactly all the facts around my experience. but they quoted me for between a 4000 to 8000 dollar job, when the solution was a 50 dollar part. I live in Bluffdale, and I was just looking to do normal yearly maintenance on my A/C unit, I called the company, they answered were friendly and sent a guy out immediately. Good deal, the charge is only 20 bucks for the maintenance. I mention to the guy that this particular A/C unit has been tripping the breaker about once a day. He says he'll look into it. A couple hours later he has taken apart my entire system, let's me know that the compressor must have gone bad and that I will need to replace it, as well as most other parts of my A/C unit, I ask "Well... how much would that cost" "Well the part is about 1500, and then it's a 6 hour job, so it'll run you about 4-6k dollars or so, I can have a guy come out and give you an exact quote, but honestly it's not that much more to get the entire system replaced... that's 8000.." I wait, look into warranty and amazingly, i still have a warranty for the part! Good news! in the mean time I get several other quotes, one shop quotes me half that 4k price, that makes sense, 4000-1500 is about 2000 dollars, the price difference is somewhat small. the price guy arrives, asks a lot of personal questions and then says he'll run my quote, I inform him the good news! I get the part for free! could they get close to the price quoted earlier? Nope, 4000 dollars. well since I have that piece still warrantied, can you show me a breakdown of the prices for labor, parts etc? nope. can you tell me what unit you would install if I went with the 8k version? "honestly they are all the same" Ok, but can I get a price break down? nope. they were vary dismayed when I said I would get some other quotes. He also informed me that this has happened all over this neighborhood So I call another company, guy looks at it, looks at my breaker and says "I think the builder just added the wrong size breaker, and this one is warn down, I can get an electrician friend of mine out here to fix it, but your unit looks perfect". thanks Copper peaks. No fee for the consultation electrician comes over,"that'll be 50 dollars for the part, 150 for the house call" it's been working perfectly fine ever since. I don't know if this is an experience problem, but I do worry that this company has been wrongfully quoting newish home owners full replacements when they are not necessary. I had a bad experience with this company, and cannot recommend them.

It went downhill from there. The cover for the drain was broken. It was not broken before they arrived. Perhaps, they broke it to place the hose inside the drain to empty the water inside the tank. They never told me about this. They left without mentioning it. I was left with a large hole in the drain cover. Anything can roll down the drain and block the pipe. Then they moved the tank about two feet. The new configuration of pipes blocks me from accessing the tank and the side of my furnace. The pipes shake violently if I slightly touch them. This is a gas leak ready to happen. They never mentioned that they moved the tank until they were leaving. I was shocked when I walked downstairs and saw the mess they left behind. I called them and the same woman answered. Not once did she say they were going to make things right. They should have done the job the right way the first time. She called me the next day and said the owner wanted to come see it for himself. Not once did she apologize or say that they would make it better. She hd already lied to me about their workers communicating with me, I did not trust them coming over again. I need to hire a plumber to reconfigure the mess left behind by 911. Heck, with this mess I will probably need to call the real 911 when the gas starts to leak, Avoid this company. I wish I could give them negative stars. I have lived in eight different decades. I am a senior. I have a limited income. I cannot afford to pay another two thousand dollars to fix the mistakes of another company.

I've lived in Salt Lake City for 6 years now and I've never had central air conditioning. It's…read moreembarrassing to admit, but for the past four years I've been propping up window units throughout my house with sticks and blocks of wood that I've found in my yard and garage and used duct tape to seal them from the elements. Looking back I don't know why I went through all this trouble when I should've just gotten central air all along. All that to say, this year I finally was like, what am I doing? And made the decision to finally install central air in my home. BJ and his team came and looked at my home, explained to me in the simplest terms what needed to be done, and were able to get started with the install the following week. I was so appreciative of how he explained the whole process, especially because I know absolutely nothing about air conditioning units. He was very thorough and direct, and I trusted him and his team immediately. I was out of town while they were doing the majority of the install, and felt so comfortable with them being in my house while I was gone. BJ always reached out and let me know when they would be entering my home, and was very communicative about when they would be stopping by. Since the install a week ago, I've had a couple of questions and BJ has been extremely responsive. I texted him a question on Sunday night and he responded right away and had his team at my house to fix the issue on Monday morning. I met with several different companies while I was looking to do the install, and BJ was the most responsive and the best price that I was able to find during my search. I put out for bids on an install of the ductwork and vents through the roof connecting to bathroom fans, and one through an exterior wall that would connect to a kitchen range. I received several responses from HVAC specialists knowing what the job entailed and providing a range of bids for the service. Manwill responded with a message refusing the service and telling me I need an electrician to do this installation. My electrician explicitly requested an HVAC specialist to run the new ductwork and connect the fans to the ventilation system. For being a longstanding business in the community, and a service that installs AC & heating systems requiring ductwork and ventilation, I was surprised they don't understand an electrician doesn't typically provide these HVAC services. I wouldn't have requested the service if I didn't know who I needed the service from. This indicated they most likely neglected to read the details of the request and assumed it was a small job they didn't want. Either way, with their lack of clarification prior to refusing the service, followed by their misinformation and misdirection to a different service altogether, I won't be requesting services from Manwill in the future. This isn't difficult because I've used them prior for annual maintenance calls and they're one of the most expensive HVAC providers in the state. Easy choice. Find another HVAC provider if you don't want to be dismissed or paying too much.
