Super store of chocolates, gelato, and other sweets in Lucerne, Switzerland. The "hometown" chocolate shop. Good chocolate! Place was very crowded, especially the gelato bar on a hot afternoon. Well worth the stop to see all the variety and candies available. It's impressive! Obviously a fav with locals and visitors alike.

If its swiss sweets you are craving, fret no more, these guys got you covered. Prices seemed reasonable. Great variety. Staff was nice. They also serve coffee.

Touristy but good for quick stop. Food is exactly what you expect. Quick service type of place, Lucerne style

What an amazing bakery and chocolatier! While there are a number of Bachmanns in the area this location is one of the bigger and busier stores with a cafe in the back that we visited. They have a larger variety of baked goods, sandwiches and other sweet goodies than the other stores. When you first walk in you feel overwhelmed as you don't know where to start or what direction to look! We picked up some chocolates and other Swiss goodies to try and to take home for family and friends. You definitely need to stop by here and check it out

Best place to get chocolate and visit when in the heart of Lucerne. Best place for chocolate, desserts, souvenirs and ice cream. The staff there is very helpful and will speak to you in English if need be. This shop is on a hot spot of within walking distance to all the stores and river bank of Lucerne. So it's always crowded here with people coming to check it out.

Great candy & chocolate store located right in the heart of Lucerne. We came to see the chocolate wall and then returned later to purchase macaroons for our daughter back in the states.

Good ice cream here! We really liked the gelato we tried. Mango and coffee.

Nothing special about the flavors and tastes

For such a famous chocolate chain, their pastries and chocolates are very mediocre with expensive price tags. I grabbed a few pastry items and chocolates boxes and they didn't even taste as good as any pastry items you can order from a Dunkin Donut store in the US. We were disappointed.

Lugano, Switzerland was amazing! The art, the food, and the scenery was just captivating. It was a dope birthday trip. After a wonderful morning cruise on lake Como, I took an afternoon lunch tour in search of some culinary delights. Bachmann is a chocolate lovers dream! Definitely Put Switzerland as a bucket list travel destination. It's stunning!!

Highlight of the store: the chocolate fountain Wall! Of course the largest chocolate fountain in the world is at Bellagio, Vegas, but this one is very cute and stylish! Another highlight: the chocolate moose and hot chocolate. I am not sure if it's just coincident or what, Swiss people like to make their food firm, I had the firmest tofu here, and this chocolate moose is a lot more firm and dense and thicker than the usual ones you would expect. But, it's surprisingly great in a different way! The hot chocolate is super thick and sweet as you can see that the milk is on the top, and you need to mix them up together. Sooooo good and satisfying! One star off for the service here. Workers are very numb to tourists, and they don't have the typical Swiss friendliness or at least Luzern's friendliness. Price wise, let's say, you can get it for half the price in the States, and this is confirmed by talking to another American couple I ran into. However, they do seem to have a lot more choices, I would buy some if I am going home after Luzern, which is not the case unfortunately. :p

Yelp Review 2026 #96:…read more I went to Laderach in different cities everyday while I was in Switzerland. This location is in Luzern Bahnhof and it's actually better than the location in Zürich Bahnhof. They have more selections here. There were two Frisch schoggi kinds I was trying to get but didn't find while in Zürich: Dubai chocolate, and vegan cashew. My favorite Frisch schoggi slabs I get all the time are vegan cashew (tastes and melts just like regular chocolate), hazelnut, and cornflakes. Add their Dubai chocolate to that list - you won't find it at all Laderach locations though. They have limited/ seasonal Frisch schoggi. In May, they had banana split. It's delicious so, I got a slab of that too. I got some truffles and mini mousses. I grabbed individually-wrapped chocolates for my friends. On my first day in Luzern, I went to this location twice. I first came here in the morning before going to the hotel. I was minding my own business taking pictures of the chocolates. The employee behind the counter was like "don't a picture of me". Girl, I have no reason to take your picture! I left. I came back in the afternoon for my chocolate break and that employee wasn't there anymore. I took pictures and the afternoon shift employee wasn't giving me samples left and right and was super nice and helpful. So, I bought chocolates from her.

Yelp Review 2026 #109:…read more Max Chocolatier is one of my favorites. They started here in Luzern so, I had to grab more chocolates here. This is a much bigger store than the one in Zurich. They have two employees here and they both will take their time for each customer in the store. Clearly, they want everyone to have the best and most focused experience while in the store and I appreciate that so much. It shows how much they care about the product even though the product speak for themselves. They'll give you free samples of whatever you want to try. They recommended their mate (South. American drink) truffle which I would not try on my own and I'm glad they did because I absolutely loved it and bought some. I had a clear plan on what I want to get from here: a box of passionfruit dragee, a box of pralines and a few truffles. I like how they put the truffles in a box. Most chocolatiers don't have boxes for when you pick your own truffles. You can pick a message tag for your chocolate boxes. There's many to choose from - in English, German and French. Since all the boxes I bought are for me and my sister, I picked message tags that resonated with me such as "I love dich". They also have blank tags if you want to write your own message. They have a coffee kiosk on front but it closes earlier than the store. They have espresso, cortado, cappuccino, latte, matcha, hot chocolate, etc. If you have time and want to create your own chocolate bar, go to their studio across the lake. You have to book your appointment though and prepay.

A Bakery with good food at the Café…read more This is a place I visit frequently. It's inside one of the bigger malls around (Emmen Center - easily accessable by public transportation). It's part of a bigger franchise with lots of stores in the town of Lucerne. They do sell pastries, bread, sandwiches and much more here. The pastries and desserts are average, but the bread really good. But we always come here to have lunch in the attached Café / restaurant (dogs allowed). You wouldn't expect much from it, but it serves really good food. Easy stuff like Nuggets, fries and hot sandwiches. But very good are the Pizzas and the Pasta. Service is fine. You order at the counter and you pick up your food yourself when it's ready....and it's ready pretty fast, even when the place is packed. Pizza with the hot salami (hot peperoni) is mostly my choice. Sometimes I go for the a bit more adventurous Pizza with Pineapple and Curry. But also the pasta is very well made. Pesto Ravioli for example....great choice. Comes with the nice pesto sauce, permesan cheese and a good load of pine nuts on top. Small portion (about 10-12 pieces) cost about 12 CHF. Pizza are between 11 and 13 CHF. So it is actually a pretty cheap place to eat....and it's better than many restaurants around (or in Lucerne). Like I said, we come here frequently....and the quality is always good, they have a good standard and you won't be disappointed.
