A Bakery with good food at the Café
This is a place I visit frequently. It's inside one of the bigger malls around (Emmen Center - easily accessable by public transportation).
It's part of a bigger franchise with lots of stores in the town of Lucerne. They do sell pastries, bread, sandwiches and much more here. The pastries and desserts are average, but the bread really good.
But we always come here to have lunch in the attached Café / restaurant (dogs allowed). You wouldn't expect much from it, but it serves really good food. Easy stuff like Nuggets, fries and hot sandwiches. But very good are the Pizzas and the Pasta.
Service is fine. You order at the counter and you pick up your food yourself when it's ready....and it's ready pretty fast, even when the place is packed.
Pizza with the hot salami (hot peperoni) is mostly my choice. Sometimes I go for the a bit more adventurous Pizza with Pineapple and Curry. But also the pasta is very well made. Pesto Ravioli for example....great choice. Comes with the nice pesto sauce, permesan cheese and a good load of pine nuts on top. Small portion (about 10-12 pieces) cost about 12 CHF. Pizza are between 11 and 13 CHF. So it is actually a pretty cheap place to eat....and it's better than many restaurants around (or in Lucerne).
Like I said, we come here frequently....and the quality is always good, they have a good standard and you won't be disappointed. read more
