When first passing I thought this was only a chocolate pastry shop, but then realised it has a hidden tea room in the very back. You have to fight your way through the narrow space between the two sections of the store to reach the thick cloth drapes that divide the store from the tea room. You will then find yourself transported to a Victorian red plush styled room with several tables. Hopefully, there will be an empty table, or a short wait for a table, and then you seat yourself, and someone will come to help you take your drink order. You will need to purchase any pastry or chocolate separately in the shop and take it back with you to the table. The chocolate is on one side and the pastries are all located on the opposite side of the store.
Everything looked so amazing and the store was dominated by a variety of chocolate bunnies all wrapped up and ready to be eaten for the Easter weekend. The place was crazy busy, but I waited my turn, and the lady was very nice to explain all the different types of chocolate. I selected several chocolates to share with my husband and returned to the table. My husband had a hot chocolate, and I had a speciality coffee drink. The drinks were perfect, and the chocolates very scrumptious. I especially liked the cognac and raisin filled chocolate. I wish I could have relaxed and enjoyed the wonderful ambiance of the space, but it was just to busy and hectic to really do so. There was pressure to get up and let the next person in line have our seat.
Tip: be sure to pay your drink order in the café and not the shop. The service in the café wasn't the best as there wasn't enough people to keep up with everyone. So we didn't know, and the lady in the shop bit our heads off for assuming incorrectly. They should mention this upfront. read more
