I can honestly say that my main reason for loving this facility is knowing that I will not experience much discomfort when having my teeth cleaned and examined. The office is a very pleasant and clean facility. The support staff has always been helpful. And both Doctor Silberman and Dr. Barakh are very caring, friendly, and offer very helpful advice. I experienced a very painful problem with food lodged between my teeth and they saw me through Covid, I am so grateful for that as I was in a lot of pain.

I recently had a root canal done the week prior and came in to see Dr. Akinwande Kolade for a core buildup in preparation for my crown. She and her hygienist took very good care of me and made sure everything was done properly. She carefully prepared the tooth for the crown and placed a temporary while I wait to return in 2-3 weeks for the permanent crown. The procedure took about an hour, which is understandable given the work involved. Even though I had to keep my mouth open for a while, Dr. Kolade and her team remained professional, patient, and attentive throughout the process. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I would definitely recommend Dr. Akinwande Kolade and her office to others.

At no point did either the hygienist or dentist speak with me directly. Instead, paperwork was handed off to the receptionist, who briefly told me my daughter would need to see a different dentist and gave a referral. That was the entirety of the communication. I chose not to follow their recommendation and instead sought care with another provider where communication was prioritized and we felt more supported. Clear communication is essential in healthcare, especially when treating children. Unfortunately, this office fell short. I would not recommend.

My concern is that these procedures were performed without clearly informing me that they might not be covered or that I could be responsible for additional costs. When I contacted my insurance company, they advised that the office could submit additional documentation for review, but I did not feel the office was willing to pursue that option. Why after 4 years being seen at patuxent dental did they never see this decay? When I called and complained they set me up with an appointment, and then the day prior to the appointment they called and said they needed to end our patient client relationship. So if you complain about their bad dentistry practices , rather than fixing the issues they will simply drop you as a patient. It is very easy to see why two highly skilled dentist left this practice, and believe me I should have never gone there, all they care about is big money procedures like crowns, implants, etc while they let the rest of your teeth rot.
