No explanation, no heads-up -- just a surprise change when I walked in. The new dentist recommended a deep cleaning, which apparently requires insurance approval. Fine. But instead of offering me a reasonable alternative, I was basically told to wait until someone calls me back once the insurance situation is figured out. I explained that I was more than willing to have a regular cleaning today and begin the process for a deep cleaning in another six months. My teeth needed to be cleaned, I had already taken time out of my schedule to be there, and I was sitting right there in the chair. Yet I was told they couldn't -- or preferred not to -- perform a regular cleaning. So I walked out with my time wasted, my appointment essentially accomplishing nothing, and absolutely no resolution. And I have to ask: WHO decided to switch my dentist without notifying me? After three years of seeing the same dentist, I should not have to walk into my appointment and discover that I'm being treated by someone new -- especially when the entire experience felt like I was being used as a training opportunity. The lack of communication, flexibility, and basic customer service today was incredibly frustrating. I understand that insurance approvals and treatment recommendations are part of the process. What I don't understand is why a paying patient who has already taken the time to come in cannot be given a reasonable option to receive the routine cleaning they came in for. I left extremely disappointed and honestly questioning why I've been a patient here for the past three years. Audubon -- DO BETTER. If they are unable to answer your question, they would talk to the Dentist, Dr. Williams to find an answer immediately. There's a high level of comfort there knowing that you will be taken care of. During my visits, I was constantly asked about my well-being to make sure that I was comfortable. Dr. Williams is also extremely kind and has great "bedside manners". She focuses on her patients which means that her patients can trust her. I believe this is an asset because that level of comfort makes me more likely to follow any recommended treatment plan. The staff here are very detailed when explaining your procedure and while working on you, they continue to detail what the next step is so that you don't have to worry what they are about to do. They listen intently, are very empathetic and very observant. I also found that contacting them is very easy because if they are unable to answer at the moment there's an automated text that you receive and can respond to, and they will contact you very quickly. He literally was done in 10 minutes. Who does a 10-minute teeth cleaning/exam? I have never heard of such. That makes no sense and there is no way that can be a thorough job at all. There were no x-rays, nothing, just a rushed job. It definitely was not a thorough exam. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My cleaning and X-rays were completed in a timely manner, but I was told at the beginning of my appointment--and again after my cleaning--that the dentist would be available in 10-15 minutes. Despite this, I waited approximately 30 minutes after my cleaning was complete. During that time, I observed the dentist see a patient who had arrived after me before attending to my appointment. My appointment was scheduled for 2:30 PM, and by 3:30 PM I had completed everything except the dental exam. By 4:00 PM, after continued delays and no clear update, I chose to leave. I understand that delays can happen, but being told multiple times to expect a short wait, only for it to extend significantly--and to see another patient taken ahead of me--was frustrating and disappointing.
