Though it looks…read morelike some other reviewers have had better experiences with her, I note that she gives patients giftcards in exchange for positive reviews. My two young children were patients of Dr. McKenzie from 2025-2026; though we have had problems with her from the beginning, we put up with her because her office was conveniently located downtown. We had made our first appointment with her for a routine cleaning, for which she charged us $398. When my children showed minor discomfort with the dental chair, instead of working with my children or giving me a chance to put them at ease, she made me take more time off of work to come back later. During the follow-up appointment, the cleaning was less thorough than the twice-daily brushing that the children have at home. She did not use a polisher or any other dental tools, and the only task that she did that I could not do myself was apply flouride paste to the children's teeth. We came back after my daughter fell and injured her mouth. I had mistakenly thought that my daughter's tooth had fallen out and wanted to get the injury professionally examined. Dr. McKenzie was so inept that, even after examining my daughter, she did not realize that the tooth was actually pushed into my daughter's gum. (I found out weeks later after the tooth began reemerging.) The last straw for us happened when we were 15 minutes late for one of the children's appointments due to a subway delay. (The children had back to back appointments scheduled at 10am and 1030am.) We had called in advance of the appointment to let Dr. McKenzie know that we would be running late and provided an accurate ETA, and Dr. McKenzie's assistant told us that we could still come in. It was not until after we arrived that we were told that both of the appointments would be cancelled, even though we had called ahead and were 15 minutes early for the second appointment, and that we would be charged a $200 cancellation fee.

I was sad to have lost my dentist of approximately 18 years after she retired. Since then, I have had 2 other dentists and I have to say there was much to be desired. I didn't feel like I was a valued patient and I was driving 15 miles to get to them. Thus my quest to find a new dentist. A friend recommended her dentist and I am very happy to have found the McCarl Dental Group. Everyone I met at this office has been super friendly and helpful. I'm happy to have Dr Lee as my dentist and the dental hygienists, Nancy and Meagan are both very thorough and knowledgeable. The bonus is they are located very close to where I live so I no longer have to drive 15 miles. I highly recommend them.

Have visited this practice over many years. Became patient of Dr Duarte. He is very pleasant and…read moreprofessional; however some of his staff are unpleasant and unnecessarily difficult. Business coordinator, Fran, is classic example. Had 2 negative interactions with her and I questioned the role that race played in it. Provided my feedback and experience to Duarte. He told me it was a serious allegation and I should find another dentist. Apparently, he expected me to back down or apologize for being victimized. I believe in supporting your staff but racism is real and refusing to accept its existence is very naive and complicity. Hope that my feedback will put more scrutiny on this employee who is probably acting inappropriately with others.

It was super easy to make my initial first appointment, and the consultation was great! Fast forward to today .... I had my first fillings done by Dr. Jun and enough words cannot be said. The front desk staff is very friendly and there's never really a long wait when you get there to be taken in the back and the dental office is really quiet and serene. His staff is incredibly friendly and has really positive attitudes, and I actually enjoy my time getting my teeth cleaned. (WHAT?!) My first visit there was a survey to fill out, which was great if going to the dentist actually freaked me out (which it doesn't) and I am sure it's helpful for his team making sure clients/patients have a positive experience. This past year Dr. Abdeen helped me get started with invisilign, and I am loving how straight my teeth are! When I first got invisilign he helped me or talked me through when my mouth or teeth felt weird. It took some getting used to, and he didn't mind when I called and asked questions and made sure to schedule me a slot of time if I wanted to stop in and have him take a look. My teeth feel clean when I have my semi annual cleanings, anything that needs to have an eye kept on it he makes note of, and then checks when I am back 6 months later. I'm really glad I found such a great Dentist and team to help keep my mouth happy and clean. I would recommend Dr. Abdeen and his team to my family, friends, and anyone looking for a dentist in the area.
