They thoroughly prepared my driveway and patched about 100 cracks... they resurfaced the whole thing and they did a fantastic job! They cleaned up all of the cement remnants and packaging. I commissioned Gonzalez to pour concrete on my backyard and part of driveway. Work was completed within a span of a week. What they did well * Cost: It was reasonable. I got quotes from half a dozen places. Gonzalez's quote was right in the middle. * Concrete itself: I am happy with the result. Then again it's just concrete and I'd expect anyone else would have been able to accomplish the same result. * Schedule: pretty fast turnaround. The work started within 2 weeks from the original contact. The work itself was done within a span of a week. What they did not do well * No Written Agreement: everything is done verbally. I asked Gonzalez to write me a written contract, but he says he doesn't do it. I understood it as due to his difficulty with the language. I recommend you have some form of written agreement as later I find him trying to use this in his favor. * Miscommunications: Gonzalez comes and you talk to him. He then sends out two crews who barely speak any English, and they would often carry out work not according to the original agreement. From that point it becomes increasingly difficult to get a hold of Gonzalez so that corrective actions can be taken. Example - originally I asked Gonzalez to leave one foot gap between the board and the fence so that concrete is not poured onto the fence post. The workers would nail and screw the board directly onto the fence post. When I pointed this out, Gonzalez protested and complained that they had to redo the work. * Lack of courtesy and common sense: the workers would come and go whenever they are pleased. On the last day, they showed up at 6:45 in the morning and started running compacter. This woke up the entire neighborhood and I got an earful from all my neighbors. The funny thing is that they finished it in about an hour, and didn't do nothing until noon. I find it was just a lack of common courtesy and respect. During the whole week they would leave a mess in the work area (they would just toss things out on the lawn). I had to clean up the trash from their lunch a few times after they left. I caught Gonzalez peeing on my lawn, even though I made our restroom entirely accessible. * Screw up in the type of concrete: On the last day the pump came, and the concrete truck came. The pump could not push the concrete out through the pipe. It turns out the type of concrete that Gonzalez ordered was not going to work with the pump they brought in. So they had to haul the whole truckful of concrete with wheelbarrow. This delayed the schedule for 4+ hours, and they had to stay and finish it out until 8pm. * No clean up after the job: When they left, I find the concrete slabs and residue all around the property. My entire front lawn is killed as they dug around the pipe, wheeled the wheelbarrow, and washed their equipment on it without proper protection. The sidewalk was filled with concrete water that later got hardened and won't come out. They did not even pick up the trash from the job, including soda cans they'd thrown out. I pointed all these out to Gonzalez. He came a few days later saying he'd clean it up. When he showed he started making excuses here and there, and did almost nothing to address it. At that point I got too sick and tired of dealing with his shenanigans so I paid the remaining amount and told him to leave. Overall Verdict In the beginning he'd claim that he does not get paid until the customer is fully satisfied. I find it a hyperbole, or he just likes to use that phrase. If you can make sure that things I experienced can be worked around with him, he could be an option when you are on a tight schedule. As for my recommendation, I do not think I will recommend him to my friends and neighbors. read more

I hired Concrete Masters to create a cement pad with rebar for a hot tub base. For that specific part of the project, they were great and at a very reasonable price. Similar to the other reviews though, the guys left a bunch of mess everywhere. Pros: - Cheaper and more responsive than anyone else for the quick turnaround job. - The crew was nice and respectful - Gonzalez responds very quickly - For what they do (laying down concrete), they were knowledgeable and did a good job Cons: - The crew was not prepared to do the prep for the base. I mentioned there were going to be tree roots and a slight slope but when they got here, all they had were pickaxes. They had to borrow my chainsaw, wheelbarrow which they put cement in, and my tamper to tamp down the gravel. This should be standard but I'm sure not all homes wouldn't have that handy. They also charged me a little extra since the guys were struggling breaking apart the roots. Then they left ALL the roots and dirt. So now I have a giant dirt and root pile I need to figure how to dispose of. - There was cement liquid all over the place. I'll probably need to hire someone to pressure wash or remove the stains from my driveway. -Random water bottles were left. Not a big deal but just something that aligns with the other reviews of leaving stuff. - They literally dumped the water mixed with concrete on my lawn, right in front of me. They didn't dispose of it in a corner or somewhere away from the site - just right in the middle of my lawn which killed my grass in that spot. Basically, if you have the site completely ready and they just need to pour the concrete and don't care about a little cleanup, they're great. If not, be prepared for them to use your equipment and leave some mess. read more

We hired them to come create a wrap around aggregate concrete pad from the side yard to around the 3rd garage so we can store our trash and recycle bins out there. There were 2 mistakes made by some of the other crew but he made it right, which is so rare these days! It did take a little over a month for the fix to be made but I think that's really understandable considering the rain we've had and covid impacting everything. He's super easy to work with and has creative solutions for weird angles and ground grades. I look forward to hiring them for our next concrete project and I'll recommend them to all our neighbors! read more

They arrived on time, did an excellent job clearing the debris (including pulling old fencing) and doing basic levelling of the area and laid down the gravel level to the alleyway. I needed a 19' x 10' slab put into my back yard. They offered the lowest price and so I took it. They showed up on time and had the work done within 24 hours. They left a mess for me to clean up, but I also expected that as we didn't talk about it at all. I was quite satisfied with everything up until I was able to really look at what they had done. They made the slab to match my stairs (which they cut around) which was exposed concrete. On the first day they poured everything, and then came back the next morning. While pressure washing to take off the top layer and expose the rocks underneath, they went way too deep. Most of the rocks on the surface are now loose and there are large pitted areas throughout the slab. It's uneven and v dry uncomfortable to walk on. I asked the owner about this and he gave me answers like "Ya the pressure washer nuzzle got lost and bought new one and it was doing some weird spinning in some ereas went hard" and "It will look better when it dry". I has been nearly a month and it does not look better. It is only getting worse with loose rocks continuing to come off the slab. I have since asked him to come out and take a look at what I'm talking about, and have given him a chance to fix it, and he has refused to answer me. Now, I either have to fix this myself or hire someone to do it. Very frustrating that I can't even get the courtesy of a response. Beware with this contractor and make sure you are very clear with your instructions. Be prepared for them to ignore you once they have been paid. read more

Hired Gonzales and his team to repair a retaining wall and build an additional retianing wall. after a dispute we had regarding the quality of his work and unfinished work, we couldn't come to an agreement over the remaining 1000$ payment, I made two separate payments already one was $2500 and the second was $2000 totaling $4500, so I was definitely not going to pay until the job was completed. we were at a stalemate. WELL GONZALES TOOK IT UPON HIMSELF TO DROP BY THE PROPERTY UNANNOUNCED AND STEAL A LAWN MOWER AND A PLATE COMPACTER THAT BELONGED TO HOME OWNER. IM GUESSING HE THOUGHT I LIVED THERE!?
