We all loved it! Big picture.. The prices are pretty reasonable and they have a great variety of options on the menu. Ordering is easy and straight forward. But, most importantly the pizza is great with a crust on the thicker side and a healthy portion of cheese (ok, it's not exactly "healthy"). As a bonus, the staff seems awesome. I purchased a $30 discount certificate for Uncle Spike's Pizzeria so I ordered a large cheese pizza…read moreand a small thin crust cheese pizza for takeout; ordering is easy and efficient. The menu is pretty straightforward, plenty of pizza options, calzones, a single salad and a couple of beverages. Uncle Spikes is half of a small building just East of the center of Aurora, the shop is takeout only, a simple counter, one cooler and the kitchen behind a wall in back. My pizzas were ready and nicely cooked; the presentation is simple the pizza boxes are just plain, no logos or writing which is fine. The pizzas are very good, the crust is excellent, the cheese near perfect, and the cooking was the way I prefer it a bit well done. The only problem I had was that there was almost no sauce on my pizzas; with a good sauce these could be some of the best pizzas in the area. I did enjoy the pizza over the next couple days, especially since I could add some toppings including chopped and sun dried tomatoes; the reheated pizza is excellent. The large pizza with the regular crust is big enough that 1/4 of the pie makes a good meal; the small thin crust is also very good since this makes for an even cheesier taste. Uncle Spike's does a really good pizza, the portion size is generous, the quality is excellent, the only issue for me was the lack of sauce, I don't know if this is their usual approach or if it was just a mistake. I do appreciate the nice and simple approach, no frills, no hype just good take out pizza.

Bought a salad to split and 2 drinks too. Great lunch for $12. But it got us here. So that works. Day after Christmas so not many people moving about in general. We went in around 12:45p. They had a few people waiting for pizza and other take out orders. The dining area was open and clear. They have a dozen or so booths and some tables. You go to the counter to order. Then sit. They bring the food out to you like it's take out but you're eating there. I have to say the dining area was freezing cold. We asked for the heat to be raised. It is seriously cold. But they said it was broken. So bring a jacket. It's cold. And you should fix that. Salad came and it's large definitely big for 2 people. Lots of onions. My partner is not an onion person so she had to pick out lots. Salad was good. Pizza came out next. We got a sausage pizza. Nice and hot. Their pizza comes with a thicker crust, topped with cheese and the toppings, crispy top, the sauce is not sweet. It's not bad. Not my favorite but it's fine. It's all about taste and this was just OK for me. Pizza wasn't bad. Making that clear. Just not my taste in pizza. To me it was just OK. This place has been around for a long time time and they are nice local shop. So plenty of people like their pizza. We ate a few slices and took the rest home for later. It was a good lunch. Cold... LOL! But fine. Staff was nice. Prices are good. No real issues. Try it for yourself to form your opinion.

I walked in, saw the sign that said to order at the register, so I did exactly that... and then stood there for about five minutes looking like I was waiting for someone to tell me I was in the right place. Nobody said hello, nobody acknowledged me, nothing. I honestly started wondering if I had missed a step. And I'm not exaggerating when I say five minutes. I stood there waiting to be acknowledged before anyone came over. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like when someone walks into a business, a simple, "Hi! We'll be right with you," goes a long way. I work in hospitality, so that's just something I naturally notice and appreciate. The funny part? As other people came in, I noticed they were greeted, so I couldn't help but wonder... was it just me? Oh well. Now, credit where it's due ....the food was actually really good! I ordered a pepperoni, sausage, and banana pepper pizza with a small drink, and my total was about $21. The pizza was a great size, and I really enjoyed it. I honestly would have given you guys 5 stars because the food deserves it. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the lack of acknowledgment when I first walked in. A simple hello or "We'll be right with you" really does make a difference. Other than that, I'd definitely come back for the pizza. Hopefully next time I'll get the greeting too.
