Staff: The team here is nice. I did the online course to…read moreallow shooting of rifles the night before. It was $20 and took about 30 mins. When I checked in they asked for my proof of completion which I provided and was given a lane with my buddy. I passed my qualifier and spent about one hour shooting. Quality: This spot is huge with about 16 lanes along with another area that is I believe for law enforcement use only. They have tons of rentals, related stuff, and used firearms. Everything is very organized, clean, and they have great communication. The bathrooms are spotless too. Overall: Come here several times over the years and will definitely come back again. Value: My brother has a membership so it was only $5.00 for me to join him on a lane. The cost comes from ammo. We brought our own so it was less expensive.

Fast forward to today, 12 August 2026. I was invited to a "class" ultimately I was handed a loaded firearm to shot. Sad real sad.

It is not easy to ease into a firearms training class especially when it's one on one, but ADS made me feel confident very early on and made the learning process more productive and fun at the same time. Starting off with the basics and easing into training was smooth, and as a visual and imaginative learner he helped to make me understand scenarios and situations easier. Something that I enjoyed about the session was, even though it was structured, he went at my pace and made sure I understood what I was doing and made sure I did it correctly. I never felt rushed or that the questions I asked were "dumb". I highly recommend ADS to all who want to learn or who have a firearm(s) and want to learn new techniques because you will learn something new and have a good experience at the same time!!

That is until I saw a free seminar Dan put together to inform people on how to obtain one. So I attended the meeting and later signed up for his CCW course after feeling very informed about the process. Dan I found out is a 20 year veteran who instructs Marines in live fire training, if that doesn't instill trust I don't know what does. Our original date for the written and the firearm qualification was put on hold until quarantine orders were eased, so Dan came up with a solution to do virtual online classes and then when the range opened again he set up a date to go to Camp Pendleton to take our written test and the shooting qualification. We wore masks and practiced social distancing which put us at ease during this strange time. I was so nervous about both tests and Dan assured all of us that we had nothing to worry about. After all was said and done he was right, there was nothing to be nervous about at all. Dan made the entire process very easy to understand, he went over all the topics for the written test, explained the shooting drills and answered any questions we had. Overall I would recommend highly recommend South County Firearms Training! Thank you again for all your help.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. It sounded like they made special accommodations for myself and some other shooters, by opening up the "tactical" range, since there were no members shooting at that time. That was awesome, because it got me on the range sooner. I also brought with me a new firearm - Canik Mete MC9LS with a new optic. I forgot my regular range bag with my tools; however, the range staff allowed me to use one of their tools to adjust my new optic. I don't know how the targets move on the regular range, but on the tactical range, you can push buttons to automatically set the targets at a specified distance, move the targets manually back and forth, and automatically have the target return. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable. $20 per lane and $0.50 targets - WAAAAAY better than prices in the Bay Area. If I were a resident of the area, I'd definitely become a member. (I overheard one of the staff members informing another customer of the benefits and price.). Top Notch outfit in my opinion.
