So I attended the meeting and later signed up for his CCW course after feeling very informed about the process. Dan I found out is a 20 year veteran who instructs Marines in live fire training, if that doesn't instill trust I don't know what does. Our original date for the written and the firearm qualification was put on hold until quarantine orders were eased, so Dan came up with a solution to do virtual online classes and then when the range opened again he set up a date to go to Camp Pendleton to take our written test and the shooting qualification. We wore masks and practiced social distancing which put us at ease during this strange time. I was so nervous about both tests and Dan assured all of us that we had nothing to worry about. After all was said and done he was right, there was nothing to be nervous about at all. Dan made the entire process very easy to understand, he went over all the topics for the written test, explained the shooting drills and answered any questions we had. It sounded like they made special accommodations for myself and some other shooters, by opening up the "tactical" range, since there were no members shooting at that time. That was awesome, because it got me on the range sooner. I also brought with me a new firearm - Canik Mete MC9LS with a new optic. I forgot my regular range bag with my tools; however, the range staff allowed me to use one of their tools to adjust my new optic. I don't know how the targets move on the regular range, but on the tactical range, you can push buttons to automatically set the targets at a specified distance, move the targets manually back and forth, and automatically have the target return. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable. $20 per lane and $0.50 targets - WAAAAAY better than prices in the Bay Area. If I were a resident of the area, I'd definitely become a member. (I overheard one of the staff members informing another customer of the benefits and price.). Top Notch outfit in my opinion.
