Took my initial CCW course with them, and learned a lot. These instructors do it right. They go through the classroom stuff and the "what you need to know" and then get you on the range. If you take this seriously this is the right class to take. You'll end up drawing from holster 50+ times to get real muscle memory which other classes don't even draw from holster (THATS THE WHOLE POINT RIGHT?!?) aside from the solid serious and safe approach they also take the time to have fun when appropriate to do so. This is my second initial CCW training course, as well as the many other firearms safety courses I've taken over the years and Michael and Peter are by far the best I've encountered. The classes are small and the instructor student ratio enables outstanding personal attention, instruction, and most importantly - SAFETY! I was dreading the 8 hour class, however I was pleasantly surprised at how much I learned and the class was over before I knew it. Peter did an outstanding job and made the class interactive and enjoyable. At the range, there were 3 instructors for 11 students which provided excellent personal attention for every student. I am a new resident in California and my wife and I just attended the class to qualify for our CCW certification. A class mate was a little weak on being able to hit her target to qualify and was really nervous about it. Peter, the firearms instructor took the time to work on her weaknesses and was able to get her to shoot like never before. This guy is amazing and goes the extra mile to help others. This course was great and I stood awake the whole time Peter was talking on day 1 in the classroom. We all know how classroom training days can be but I can honestly say it was pretty enjoyable as a refresher! You can never get enough training as a CCW holder. If you're looking for quality CCW/Firearms training, this is a great place to go. Originally, I attended their CCW addon course and was very happy with out they conducted the training & qualification. I just finished up my CCW renewal training and I couldn't have been happier with the course. For renewals it's 8 hours of training, so it was broken up into two 4-hour days. The first day in the classroom with a very comprehensive review of gun safety, law review, etc. The second day consisted of the range reviewing much of what was covered in the classroom. Safety is paramount and that shows in the way they instruct. Comprehensive drills were conducted throughout the range day, with practice on drawing from the holster, dealing with malfunctions, and various other techniques. I have to give my trainer Peter 5 stars as well as Mike for being awesome! First of all I'm trying to get my ccw for California and I took an 8hour course in riverside shooting range. Once the course is over the instructor Tom stated he will be leaving for vacation and can't qualify anyone until June 5th. That's like 17 days of waiting and I don't want to keep this application just pending. So I call 3 other vendors that are listed on the application my investigator gave me and all 3 shops stated I can't finish my qualifying as I have to finish it where I started my 8 hour course. Well I decided to give one more shop and try and I called Mike from FDFT, respectful man, stated he would call the sheriffs office and inquire about what I can do. A few hours later he calls me back saying hey I got good news, yes you can take the qualifying with us. So to me the other shops were just lazy or didn't do enough to give me a proper answer. Well I thank Mike, i pay the course and he squeezes me in for today at 9am with instructor Peter. Peter greeted me very professionally, he said " let me teach you a thing or two and you will pass ". I absorbed all of this man's knowledge and implemented it on the shooting range, 100% passed.
