Who doesn't love a bowl of pozole and menudo on a Sunday lunch? The restaurant was full! Good sign that it is good! We got seated and they told us they are out of chips and salsa they are preparing some. We ordered the pozole rojo, pozole verde, menudo and the birria quesadillas. My favorite was the red pozole! I vanished that bowl in few minutes! What caught my attention is an older man walking in and it is his birthday. He was by himself so all the waitresses made sure he was well taken care of. I'm here because the Yelp scores are misleading. Service and Ambiance: awkward and uncomfortable. I will withhold a lot out of respect for any local business. I would have explored more on the menu, but the sub-par Health Score was staring at me while we waited 20+ minutes for anyone to look our way. It's tough when other customers arrive after you and are pacing ahead in the restaurant service order of events. They get their tea, even their food, and you're still just sitting there hoping someone see you ::smiles:: Ah, it occurs to me now, this place is best for the regulars. Con Amor Cocina came to our attention while looking for a good Chile en Nogada plate. We were also impressed by other regional menu items that are hard to find elsewhere. The waitstaff were prompt and attentive. The Chile en Nogada is a very special dish and requires extensive preparation. it's a September special- a labor of love to their craft. The dish was excellent, and served with poblano sauced pasta on the side. They also feature a Chile Nogada enchiladas plate, very clever. We're looking forward to many other return visits! read more

I am so glad we have finally been able to visit this amazing neighborhood restaurant. We have made it our breakfast spot because it is so good! Our favorites are the chilaquiles rellenos, the chicharrón prensado, and the sopaipillas. I wished they made cafe the olla because that would make our breakfast experience even better! Con Amor Cocina has been open for about a year now and the food is fantastic! Their menu features many different options that you will not find at other Mexican restaurants. A true "hole in the wall", you'll find Con Amor Cocina tucked away in a residential area but it is a gem! I had the Chicarron Prensado and it was delicious. The salsa verde has a nice amount of heat to it and pairs well with the spanish rice. My girlfriend had the Asado De Puerco plate and loved it. The meat is seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor! My wife and I enjoy this place and eat here often. I had family come in from out of town and I had hyped the place up as I find it delicious. It was embarrassing. Not only did we find a white curly hair in the salsa, we also found a fly in the sugar. Things happen but it was very disappointing as I vouched for the place.
