I was recommended by several friends to go in to this store. They are creative problem solvers. So far I ordered a special case for my smartphone & told it would be here in a day or two. My week got crazy so I left a message w/them today, Sunday, to call me when I could come & p/up. As I listened to their recording they gave hours. They are open M-Sat but what floats by boat is that they are also open on Sunday's by appt only. Seems like my most serious problems occur on Sats & Sun so good to know about Sunday. Most likely I'll hear from them tomorrow, Monday, since my issue is so insequential but I had to ask them if by some chance miracle, they could accommodate me due to my erratically crazy schedule this week. In the wild chance I get it today I will definately share that here. In any event, I'm going to recommend them because of the great things I heard from a few trusted friends. Whatever you do, DO NOT bring your devices to this company for repair. They charge more than double what Apple charges and they do poor work. They replaced the battery in my laptop and for some reason left the plastic on the battery. Bad customer service and communication. Dodgy vibes about their competence and their approach to pricing. Let me tell you my epic tale. My USB ports stopped working. Tech quoted me $50 for the part, and also said it would be 1 hour of labor. Couple of days later I got a call from the owner saying they had the part but it cost almost double what I'd been quoted, and also it would be two hours of labor because it's a difficult job (really?) and the labor price I had been quoted was their summer special and the second hour would be more expensive. I made a mental note to not go to them again, but they already had a bunch of my money so I proceeded. Got a call when it was ready, but before he would get off the phone the owner grilled me about whether I do backups and tried to sell me a backup system, and I finally had to say, "All the features you just mentioned? The system I use does all of those." He backed off. Went to get the computer, and they had lost my my computer case and had to hunt all over the store for it. Later I discovered that some papers I had in there were missing. (Not important, just printed them out again, but that seriously should not happen!) Got home, discovered that charging was not in fact happening, and also that a couple of my browser windows had been closed. One of them had a lot of tabs that I needed, but it was no longer showing under "recently closed" so it was gone. Went back, they tested it with their cord, it worked, but then it didn't work, then after more plugging and unplugging it worked again. They explained in an overly patient voice that it takes a few seconds for it to go from the "plugged in" icon to the "charging" icon. I explained for the second time that I had used it for half an hour at home and it never charged. They told me it was probably my cord. I explained why it definitely wasn't my (multiple, high-quality, quite new, working-perfectly-up-till-now) cords. They told me it might be that my board was bad, but that it was "very unlikely" that it was a dud part (even though they use refurbished parts--which, by the way, you only find out if you read the little sign that's down at knee height). Throughout this exchange there was never a "sorry it's giving you trouble!" or "let's see if we can figure this out for you." Just stone-faced and clearly wanting me and my problem to go away. We did the unplug-and-plug-back-in thing one more time, but this time using the other port and . . . it wouldn't charge. So apparently they did not test both ports after they "fixed" it? They said they would order a new part and it would be in on Monday. But now that I've read some of the other reviews, I regret having left my computer in their hands at all. I've got one USB port that works most of the time, and if it starts to go bad again I will take it elsewhere. read more

When I walked in, I showed the employee my phone and how the screen wasn't working. He took it from me and started looking. He told me it'll be this much for looking at it, this much for a new screen, and this much for the service fee. The total was around $300 for a new screen! And it wasn't even an official Apple screen. I told him I'd like to get a quote from the place around the corner. He then tossed/threw my phone across the counter back towards me and didn't say another word. I just grabbed my phone and left. Horrible customer service and terrible prices. Update: Yes. What an absolute rip off this place is. I brought a laptop in here, knowing exactly what was wrong with it. I had opened the laptop up, and accidentally tore a ribbon cable. I never turned the laptop on again after doing this. I brought the laptop to them, hoping that they would have easy access to this ribbon, cable, and perhaps be able to Take better care of it. After bringing it in, telling them exactly what was wrong, and even telling them the specific part that need to be replaced, they quoted me $99 as a basic service fee to look it over. One week later I get a telephone call from them Letting me know exactly what I had told them was correct and asking if I wanted to pay for the cable. Absolutely. This was just going to cost an additional $30. A week after that, I get another phone call from them telling me that they had been having difficulty getting this cable and that this was going to take a little bit longer. As luck would have it, before I decided to have them fix it, I ordered the correct one ribbon cable, and it actually already received it. I offered to bring them the part to fix the problem. I brought that part in dropped it off and hopefully I would get my laptop back soon. One week after that, a total of three weeks following the point where I dropped my laptop off in the first place, I get another phone call from them, letting me know that they had been trying to fix the problem, but that somehow the left the motherboard on the laptop seems to have shorted out. Now the laptop had been fine before I accidentally tore the ribbon cable, taking the laptop apart, and never tried to power the device on after having done that. But now they say that the laptop came in that way And that the entire repair cost was now going to be the $99 deposit., An additional $99 worth of labor, the price for the part that I gave them because they had ordered it in addition, and $400 for a new motherboard This is a laptop that I had spent $300 buying used on eBay just six months ago. So to get my $300 laptop back I was gonna have to pay them about $500-$550 provided they don't break anything else in the process if I want my laptop back in a broken condition I have to pay $250 which is the two hours of labor that they've sunk in plus the cost for the part that they didn't need. Please try and find a more reputable repair place if you can. Even taking this laptop back to Apple itself would've cost me way less. [Update: despite the comment below, what they fail to understand that after two weeks, I had to order and deliver the part to them, and after three they gave me a quote of $99 (evaluation) + $99(additional labor)+$379 (refurbished motherboard) = $579 to repair what was originally a torn ribbon cable that cost me $15. After their quote, I ordered a refurbished laptop of the same model for $240 (with warranty), less than half their quote to fix. This is probably what they should have recommended to me in the first place. Keep the broken laptop, I won't be back for it. read more

Few days into the new screen an error message popped up saying it wasn't supported. Then a few weeks later the screen went black then the screen completely fell apart. ZERO STARS. I wish I would have looked up all the BAD REVIEWS before I spent $600. I took in three computers and an old hard-drive to get old pictures off them. Two of the computers worked when I last used them, but it's been years, and the hard drive was formatted for Apple and I now had PCs. Long story short, they were only able to get info off the hard drive, which wasn't much as we switch to PCs. Went in to get my iPhone 12 fixed. What caught my eye was that big yellow banner that says something like $49 for phone repair. A young gentleman helped me out and explained everything very clearly to me and I was able to fix the screen on my phone in like 2 hours. The screen itself wasn't too expensive and for $50 to fix the phone its honestly such a bargain. They obviously also do computer repair so I'm thinking of bringing in my macbook in since its been running kind of slow and see if they can help me with that. Took my laptop in to get fixed and when I got it back part of the screen was chipped. He said it was like that when he got it but it's very hard not to notice. I honestly wasn't even going to write this but with how badly my experience has been I felt obligated to warn others. I was leaving for a summer trip when my screen broke 5 days before my trip, after telling me they could have it done no problem I left it and paid $220 to get my screen replaced. When I picked my phone up they gave me some jumbled excuse saying they could only temporarily fix the screen and it would probably come off the phone soon. I thought I was paying to fix it, not even 10 minutes leaving the store my phone was telling me theres a foreign part detected in my phone and the top part of my screen where the battery is displayed doesnt show because it's not the right screen. My biggest inconvenience happened after I landed over seas the screen started peeling/falling off the phone and I thought I was going to be stuck without a way to call my parent. Luckily another phone shop in Paris could put it back together but in the end it was a bad job with a bs excuse for the poor work I won't ever bring my electronics back here and wouldn't recommend!‍ read more

First, the person working was so rude. Then, I was charged a service fee for them to look at my phone - which is fine. Then they charged an additional fee and told me they could do nothing. So they charged me extra money, provided no service and told me to come back and try again on Monday, where they would charge me to do the same thing they just did! Don't come to this place under any circumstances. So not worth it. I first called them to ask how much the price would be for the repair I needed and when I went in, they charged me double what it originally was going to cost. I went in for a simple fix on my laptop and it came back with so many issues. They charged me so much for what was a simple fix and told me it would only take 2 days to repair and since I'm a student that needs my laptop for school I figured it was worth it. After two days, they hadn't contacted me at all and when I called to check in, they were extremely rude and yelled at me over the phone simply because I asked if it was ready when they said it would be. They kept delaying the repair and every time they said it would be ready by a certain date, they would tell me that it was still not ready and they needed more time. At this point, I just wanted my laptop back and to get it over with. Once I finally got it back, my touch ID on my laptop was broken, some of my files and folders were deleted, and my laptop glitches every now and then and shuts down. 6/27/17 - Update RadMax 380W PSU that Computer Zone installed in July 2014 finally died 6/26/17. The technician at the new shop (see my excellent review for the new place) discovered that the vibration noise that the RadMax PSU was making shortly after it was installed by Computer Zone, was due to the fact that the power supply harness was missing. The PSU was being held in with three screws, making it unstable and causing it to vibrate against the metal side panel at power on. The rest of the screws were missing, as was the plate covering the PSU on the outside. I wonder what else they stole from my computer while it was there? The new PSU installed today 6/27/17 has MORE power, and costed less than the $79 Computer Zone charged for the cheaper RadMax PSU that clearly didn't fit my machine as evidenced by how it fit in my tower! Expect to be over charged here, and hope that your machine doesn't come out worse than it went in. Be prepared for the run around, phones calls not being returned, and BS lies when you question what doesn't add up. Informed consumers are their worst nightmares! I encourage you to file complaints to the following agencies to help prevent these unethical business practices and start holding these types of businesses accountable for their actions: dca.ca.gov/webapps/bearh... oag.ca.gov/contact/share... Better yet, take them to Small Claims Court and let him explain in front of a Judge. Perhaps they should be audited if they have such poor bookkeeping practices, and fail to note accurate inventory on customer invoices. STAY AWAY FROM THESE LIARS AND THIEVES! read more

GREAT experience. Had an iPad that got disabled. They explained what they would do, how much they would charge and that it would probably take 2-3 days. BUT less than 24 hours it was fixed, is back in our house and working just fine... and all for less than $100 which they told me upfront. Truly appreciate.
