I took my iPad to Computer CPR because my power button jammed. I was told by the manager that it was a simple repair and I would most likely have my iPad back within 1-3 days. After several days, without hearing from them, I contacted them. They told me that they had to replace my power button and were waiting on a new one but it should be within a few days.
Midway through the next week I had still not heard anything back on my iPad so I contacted them back. I was told that it would still be several days. After almost another week, I called back. I was finally told my part was in and I would have my iPad back the next day.
Instead, on the next day, I received a call from their owner and was told that the tech had broken another my part of my iPad. Because of that, she told me that they would refund my payment and fix my iPad for free. At this point, I was irritated but said fine.
I waited another five days before calling back about my iPad. I was once again told they were waiting for my iPad part. Several days later, I was called by the manager and told my iPad was ready for pickup. As it was too late to pick it up that night, I went in the next morning to get it.
Then I got even more bad news. Half of my screen was darkened. I showed the manager, who apologized profusely. She said she couldn't understand how the technician didn't notice that. She told me that because it was the weekend, I would need to wait till Monday. If she couldn't fix my iPad, she said she would personally get me a new one.
On Monday, she called and blamed me for the darkened screen. Although it was not darkened when I brought it in, and she could confirm it, she said it must have been caused by me. When I reminded her that HER tech had broken a part of my iPad she said it was not related to the new problem. When I went to get my permanently damaged iPad, I noticed that my home button was now also broke and turned sideways as well as the top of my iPad and bottom of it were not properly sealed. Once again, she said this was my fault. So now, I have a barely functioning iPad that I was told I should be thankful that I wasn't charged for. My ipad was like new and only needed a new power button. They scratched all round the casing at the button, soldered the left corner haphazardly, and replaced my original screen ( that her techs broke) with a cheap plastic after market piece. read more
