MKC....I can't say enough good things about this store and in particular about Pete! He was awesome in the advice & help that he gave me when I purchased my new iPad. He was patient, explained everything clearly & spent a great deal of time getting my new iPad up & running. The other wonderful thing about Computer Advantage is the promptness of service & attention. I talked with Pete the day before I purchased my new iPad. When I got to the store he was ready to help me make a decision & help me. When I went to the Apple Store I had to make a reservation several days in advance. I have used this store many times and have bought things as well. Before they have always been 5 star. Friday I took my Apple computer in to have look at. I got Eric, the Service Manager! He was curt, rude and was the worse service person I have ever had. I took it to someone else. They spend 1 1/2 hour working on the problem. And they fixed it for FREE! I am in my 70's and not tech wise, but I do have advanced college degrees and am far from senile! This is a mean, unhappy person that needs an attitude adjustment.....or maybe he was unhappy with the election result. Either way,,,spare me from him again!!! read more

I spilled water on my ageing MacBookPro (2011) and even after drying it out for several days, it would not start. I went to the Apple store to see if they would service my laptop, but none were open due to the virus. They recommended Computer Advantage and a few other stores. Computer Advantage was the closest so I went to them. I chose to buy a new 13 inch MBP from them since mine was so old, and they were able to remove the hard drive from my old laptop and transfer all the data onto my new MBP. They were able to do all this in less than 24 hours. I was there in the early morning and got a call it was done by 3:30pm. And when they said all data, they really meant it. My new MBP has all the files and applications from my old laptop. I didn't have to set anything up. Even my password was set up properly. I've never had such a seamless data transfer before, even from my work's IT team, when my work laptop died. And their salesman, Peter, was very helpful in helping me choose a new laptop and he even gave me a quick how to of the new MBP, keeping social distancing, of course. I highly recommend the Computer Advantage store. I would definitely take any Apple device that needs repair to them. read more

These folks are idiots. They made me bring in my macbook pro with screen de-lamination issue twice - once to run a software diagnostic (which is not required for a de-laminating hardware issue), then a second time to place the order for a new screen. "Austin" told me that the part would be ordered and arrive in the next day or two, and that I would receive a phone call to bring in my laptop. They were adamant that I had to bring in my laptop for service within 5 days, otherwise the service would be cancelled. After waiting a week of not hearing back, I had to call back and ask what the part order status was. I was told that nothing had been ordered and that I would also have to replace my battery (which was never part of my request. These guys are either liars cruising for extra fees from the customer or from apple, or just incompetent. Stay away. read more

Been a long time customer and unfortunately I will not go back. If they can treat a customer of 20 years like this, imagine what can happen with a new customer. Brought a brand new Macbook Pro in as the hard drive had crashed making the computer unbootable. They have had the computer for 13 days now and I cant even get the decency of a phone call. I have to call in every day and am told they are waiting for Apple to call them. Well, I called Apple. I was told by senior tech at Applecare that any authorized service center should never have to wait for a phone call. They should have a direct chat pipeline with Apple techs. So either there is something fishy about their "authorized" status, or I am being told a bunch of BS. The worse part of the customer service experience is that they do not do what they say and charge exorbitant fee's for doing what would be free at the Apple Store genius bar. My advice if you need service is to go to the Apple store and avoid this place. read more

I have purchased a number of Apple accessories from this store over the years but never used them for service. When my Mac started having problems I decided to try them rather than drive to Brandon to the Apple store. The service desk ran a diagnostic but could not see anything obvious. They wrote up the repair ticket and said it would be about "a week" before they could look at it. Like all repair centers their written and stated procedure is to call and get approval before any repairs are done. However on day 9 I had not heard anything: no phone messages, no missed calls, no emails from them, although they had my home, cell, and email. I called at 5pm and left a message asking whether they had looked at it and please call. By 11:50am the next day I had heard nothing so I called. I explained to the service manager that this was day 10 and I had had no contact whatever from the store despite having left a message. He said, "We told you it was a bad hard drive so we replaced it and we're transferring data now." I was shocked! No one at all had contacted me and I most certainly had not authorized the repair! And with a HD I definitely want to know details--cost, what drive, etc.--esp. as I had successfully tested the drive and repeatedly booted it up in target mode with another Mac, and told them that and they even put it in writing. I asked how they could do a repair w/o customer OK on cost or authorization. He sort of apologized and I asked OK, how much are you charging? He answered he didn't know and would have to call me back. That was at 11:50am this morning and now it's evening and I have not heard a thing. And a call at 5:00pm to their store went unanswered. I still don't know what the charge is! They did the work w/o authorization. read more

Brought my MacBook Pro in for a replacement battery while on vacation. I started by saying I think my battery is dead because it has an X through the icon. The tech guy said an X through the battery icon isn't a dead battery with a tone like my computer was really messed up. He didn't tell me what it meant when I asked, and just had a weird tone, sort of competitive, as I said ok and waited nervously. He ran tests on the computer. After a little he told me the battery was shot and that was all that was wrong. He said they would have to order the battery and that I would have to leave a deposit. I asked how much the battery would cost and how long it would take. He went to the back and found out. The price was $189 (a real Apple store does it for $129) and the guy in charge in the back yelled out "He's gotta leave me something though!" (Referring to a deposit) in a rude manner that everyone around could hear. I said no thanks, mainly due to the time frame it would've taken. I thanked them for their time, but they were all still in the back. I basically got no response and left. Bad customer service and overpriced. I wouldn't go back and neither will my father who was with me, and he had been a relatively frequent customer there prior to this visit. read more

I have used this store many times and I have always been pleased. They did a good job when my iMac was about to crash and saved everything. Their one on one teaching is great. I prefer them to an Apple store where no one seems to want to help an older customer and generally ignore us. When I droped my iPad and broke the glass, they gave me the name of someone who fixed it in 48 hors, saving me the trouble and lost time of sending it back to Apple. Julie read more

I've been a customer of Computer Advantage for several years and have been consistently impressed. Today I stopped in for what amounted to a "favor" - help with aol on my iPhone. I'd been trying to correct the problem for a couple weeks and Juan had in fixed in under 5 minutes. Plus he was very gracious. I would not recommend this to anyone, even my worst enemy. My experience was overall pretty horrible - I dealt with an unrealistic price estimate, horribly rude employees, and tons of unanswered questions. Not only did they call me to get approval on a repair that was $200 less than what they charged in the end, they never addressed the original issue I brought my laptop in for. I have well over a basic knowledge of my laptop and the "repairs" they made were completely random with no relation to my original issue. No one would give me a solid answer and no one was willing to explain their unapproved charges. I'm just so disappointed after the recommendation from Apple support and the positive reviews I read here. If you can, make the drive to the Apple Store, it's well worth it. read more

The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is that they turned around the computers quickly. My wife's computer was pristine when I brought it in, now it has three scratches in the aluminum frame on the front of the computer, and there's a hair trapped behind the screen, which had to be removed to replace the hard drives. To add insult to injury, there is a lot of lint trapped on the screen, and a haze where the technician (sic) attempted to clean the screen. This is not the type of service you expect from an authorized Apple store. read more
