Great job on data recovery and transfer! I had an OLD Windows XP desktop (2004) that didn't boot up anymore, and I wanted to retrieve the contents of the hard-drive. CompuSolve picked up my old computer and new external hard-drive from my home, transferred the data, and dropped them back off. They took the hard-drive out of the old computer, and gave me the option to recycle the rest of it. Great service!!! The reason I gave 4 stars, not 5, is the lack of data privacy policy. I initially was going to transfer the contents of my old hard drive to my new Windows 8 laptop. They told me they would need the password, but I didn't feel comfortable giving them that info. When I asked about customer data privacy, they said they have been in business for a long time. (implying they wouldn't be if they were messing around with the computers). I wasn't impressed with that answer. So, I decided to transfer the data to a external hard-drive instead. And I'm happy with the work they did. read more

Based on how they treated me I reported them to the Pennsylvania Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. Worst business experience I've ever had. They failed to repair my laptop and refused to give me a refund of the money I gave them when I thought the repair was completed. Stupid me. And this was a company I'd used before. Needless to say, I'll never use them again. read more

I called the compusolve office to get a quote for fixing my computer and someone named Mark (the CEO?) picked up the phone. He asked me to hold and I did...For 15 minutes before the phone disconnected! Now I understand businesses can be busy so I called back right away. The phone continuously rang until a young lady picked up the phone and attempted to answer my questions. I asked to speak to the person I was previously on the phone with and she told me he just left the office. The young lady who I spoke to seemed to be preoccupied and the prices were insane ($115 for the first hour!). I was also really disappointed with not being able to speak to the owner after wasting my time on hold. I usually don't judge people on first impressions but I would stay away from this one, at least for now. read more

Techs are friendly but the owner is a whole different story. Knowing Dustin when he started this business it was great, responsive, and I was always in the loop. Now having my computer service is worst than getting open heart operations. $115 for the first hour because of this hidden "diagnostic" fee?! NO SHIT SEE MY COMPUTER DOESN'T TURN ON. GREAT JOB SHERLOCK! the technician was nice but the rates are beyond a "small business" should charge. and after the three times I've called to speak with the Owner (Mark) he was always magically "busy" or not in the office at all. I don't recommend ANYONE using these guys. I'd have better service from Geek squad and staples even though they charge a fraction more, they at least they get the job done quicker than these guys can with a guarantee on their work without any hassle. Now $200 down the drain, might as well save everyone else the trouble. STAY AWAY! read more

I can not thank Mark enough. He was helping me with some pictures to upload for holiday gifts. It did not work out with that company. So he redirected me to another company and he uploaded all my pictures for different gifts. He did all the work in getting the pictures to look perfect. I thought that I would have to go searching for new gifts for my staff with their pictures, but he saved the day. Thank-you Mark !!!! read more

I had used Compusolve once before and had been satisfied with the service. One of the problems they fixed was a loose power input jack on my laptop, and less than 90 days later it was loose again. I called to have it re-examined, and co-owner Mark looked at it for me. He promptly informed me within an hour that the problem with the jack was unrelated to the prior service, and it would not be cost-effective to fix again. He offered to back up my data, or sell me a new laptop, but I told him I'd just like the laptop back and then would weigh my options. Mark told me that after I pay my $50 bill (the 'diagnostic fee'), he'd have the laptop dropped off. After we'd hung up, I must admit it didn't feel good to be told I would be charged $50 to get my computer back in the same condition in which I gave it to them, with the problem not fixed. I called Mark back and respectfully asked him if he could waive the diagnostic fee since I am a recurring customer who had used Compusolve before ($200+ at the prior service) and planned to use them again, and since my problem was not rectified. Before I could get all of these words out, Mark interrupted and said this issue was unrelated to the prior service and he wouldn't waive anything unless it was due to something that was the fault of one of their technicians. I told Mark that this was not about being the 'fault' of anyone, but rather just a courtesy to a customer. I asked Mark multiple times if he would please 'hear me out' but I was cut off several times before finally having the opportunity to fully explain my stance. I was calm and courteous throughout this conversation, but` did tell Mark that this fee was not disclosed up front. Mark then told me maybe, but he was "not going to make a decision today", that he "needed to sleep on it", and that I would need to call back the following day. When I got a hold of him on the second try the next day, Mark told me that it wouldn't be right for him to waive this fee, since he 'has overhead', and that he actually did me a favor by not charging me their additional $65/hour fee. He agreed to reduce the fee to $40. I told him that I was disappointed in his decision, and that I would never use Compusolve again. (Mark didn't seem the least bit bothered by this, which was odd to see a small business owner so unconcerned about a lost customer.) I understand Mark's point that the business has overhead, but I was more disappointed in the arrogant and unfriendly way that this was handled. Mark simply did not care to look at this from the customer's point of view: that to charge a customer an undisclosed $40 fee without providing any value in return is bad business. In my prior interaction with Compusolve, I had found Dustin (founder and co-owner) to be competent and customer-focused. I had spoken with him for a few minutes when he dropped off my laptop at the prior service, and he told me about the company's background. I had enjoyed dealing with a local business whose founder is actively involved. I also found his staff (Justin and Ross) to be capable. Unfortunately, after seeing the company's attitude toward customers, I would never use Compusolve again and would not recommend them. I would tell anyone looking for a computer repair service specifically NOT to call Compusolve due to this poor experience. read more

I posted this 2 days ago and somehow it's not showing... Not too happy at this point. I took my Gateway all in one to them because it wouldn't turn on. They replaced the hard drive in it. I took it home, set it up, went on FB. got off of it. Went to go on a couple of days later and it wouldn't turn again. They told me they would give me a $243 credit towards a new laptop...fine. I pick up the laptop (that not all of my things were downloaded into properly), paid another $410.00. over $600 in total. We leave directly from there to go on vacation. At our vacation house, I want to go online and set up and play with the new computer, I couldn't get it to sign on, said the signal strength was too weak. In the mean time, on my old laptop, I'm sitting there watching television shows, my kids are signing on with their laptops, everyone's phone is getting wifi. I take the laptop back to them, tell I want to return it , it's lousy First they tell me "I can't return this, you were given multiple discounts on this" I said no I wasn't , I was given a credit (I paid over $600 for a laptop that costs $380 at Walmart) Then told "well, we can't resell this because it's used", and that's my problem??!! Your computer dosen't work, I want to return it. I told them, look, forget the $243, I'll call that a wash, I just want back the $410 I just gave you. He ended up telling me they were going to check the computer and determine if there is a problem and let me know if they'll return my money. ......I'll keep you posted. read more

Dustin and his team do a great job. Prompt, professional, and really know what they are doing. I wouldn't use anyone else.

They are not at all clear with their billing process. they do not tell you how much it will cost until after the work is done. very poor communication between the people that work there . they need to have their policies written up and sent out. i specifically asked the tech if there will be a charge for today; is this covered under my cleanup agreement with them and he said yes when i told him the agreement that i have. the tech that came out today said they do not have a system to do that. really??? they are a computer tech company; surely they should be able to get a business program(s) set up. totally disrespectful to their customers in this respect. they need to get their act together administratively. the technicians know their stuff but dealing with any other aspects of the company has been a nightmare read more

Dustin took the time to give me some feedback with a computer problem I was having even though I do not have a contract with him. (He was honest enough to advise me that it wouldn't be worth my while to contract with him to fix my problem. Honesty counts for a lot in this kind of business.) I intend to keep Compusolve contact information on hand should I need computer services in the future. read more
