I called Compumatter and talked to Doug about an onsite visit for my computer / laptop interface. I had exhausted my tries at getting it up and running. I couldn't access files on my home network disk drive. I spent hours following detailed instructions I found on Google and CoPilot AI searches, but nothing worked. As a last resort before abandoning the drive I looked up our local Anacortes computer store, CompuMatter, and sent them a detailed email about my problem. My husband needed his computer updated and a new battery installed. They went above an be on, to find the battery needed. And update the computer. Because the update had changed somethings in his computer. They took the time to show him the different things and let him know that there would be other things that changed, that he wouldn't see till he used it. They made sure he was taking care of. Computer repair with a respect for the nuance: I have used Compumatter several times for problems with my PC. They have always been very attentive to the issues, while attempting to pair client needs to their wishes. Sometimes, a problem can be rectified with a knowledgeable 'tweak,' which the people at Compumatter have done for me at least twice. The result? A healthy computer with a minimal charge. Other times the problem has been more serious, when the staff has provided me with options and worked to fix the problem at the least expense. Fixing a computer takes a combination of experience, patience, and sometimes a bit of professional 'gut feel' thrown in for good measure. Compumatter does a great job of achieving all three levels. It's not always easy, thus the endless string of bad news messages propagating the internet.
