Get the Airthings radon detector and it'll give you short and long term readings. Radon levels change depending on the season and time. Once I realized the levels in my home were rising, I called Professional Radon Systems for a consult. The owner, Eric, came out to my home to determine where the radon mitigation system could go and showed me how and where the pipes would be routed. He sent me a quote later that day by email and I scheduled installation a couple weeks later. The install took less than a couple hours, and the crew that came were very courteous. They ran floor coverings down to my basement so they wouldn't track in or out any debris and they cleaned up after themselves. They showed me what to keep an eye on to make sure the fan was working and provided some documents. This whole experience was very nice. I'm grateful to have a liveable basement now.
