We've been blessed to have Coach Jalon coaching both seasons. Not only does he know how to connect with the kids easily, but he also knows how to provide constructive feedback and help support the kids when they make necessary adjustments in a way that it just clicks. With the younger kids having such short attention spans, that skill is highly commendable! I definitely recommend Maxpro for anyone looking for a new basketball home for their kiddo.

It is clear that they use cycle techniques here (where kids rotate between different activities than having to wait in a line at one). It became quickly apparent my daughter LOVES her time here, as evidenced by 2x a week classes AND still asking every day if it's time for gymnastics. At GymFest, an end-of-the-school-year recital, kids can sign up, get photos taken, obtain a trophy, and a t-shirt with all their names on the back. My daughter had so much fun showing off for her father and I. After this, she moved up to the next class. I couldn't be more pleased with Coach Mia. I love how she knows when to be stern for the kids' safety, when time be more nurturing, and when to let them try for themselves too. It takes an incredibly knowledgeable coach with a lot of experience with children to be able to tell what each kid responds to. I have specifically signed up my daughter to lessons with this Coach and also will be starting private lessons too! If you're on the fence about where to go, come to their open gym and explore the facility for yourself. I came and spoke to staff and coaches prior to my daughter signing up. If you're as picky as me, I'll see you soon.

I haven't used the pool, only occasionally used the weight room and have not rented a room in the community center so I will limit my review to tennis activities. I play tennis there every week. Alfredo and Ivette Rivera have a great active adult and youth tennis program. Private lessons and drills are available, usually ran by Alfredo, Ricky Serrano (great guy and strong player) and Ivette. Alfredo has all kinds of experience teaching. He has made my game better. I have friends that have their children in their youth program and they have no complaints. This is truly the best part of the facility. Tennis drills are conducted on a regular basis, Saturday and Sunday. I think they have some during the week, as well. Once you get connected the pros send out a group text for drills and emails for mixers and tournaments that are held periodically. League teams from USTA and North Houston Suburban Tennis League play out of here, ladies, men and mixed. The courts are kept in good shape and resurfaced when needed. Unfortunately, like most parks in Houston, they will flood from time to time. No one can help that. The only issue is the lights. They have started to upgrade to LED but haven't finished. I'm sure they will get to it and Hurricane Harvey may have delayed some projects. Overall great neighborhood club with skilled friendly staff and good friendly tennis players that live in the area. Try it out if you or your kids are interested. Tennis is a great social activity and you will thoroughly enjoy the sport at Forest Oaks.

We attended a trial class for our two daughters, and they enjoyed it so much that we decided to…read moreenroll. Unfortunately, the experience after that was extremely frustrating. The enrollment process was confusing from the beginning. Most communication came through an automated text system that repeatedly stated someone would contact me, but getting clear answers was very difficult. We provided all requested information, received tuition details, and repeatedly tried to confirm enrollment and class times. Eventually, my husband was told that our daughters should arrive at 5:30 PM. We drove approximately 40 minutes to the gym, completed registration, paid for the classes, and I specifically asked the front desk whether my daughters could begin training at that time. I was told yes. My daughters joined the class, completed warm-ups, and moved on to the next training activity with the rest of the group. About 17 minutes later, they were suddenly pulled out of the class and told that their actual class time was 6:30 PM. What makes this situation difficult to understand is that my children did not enter the wrong class on their own. We arrived at the time we were given, checked in, completed payment, and I personally confirmed with the front desk that they could start training. Multiple staff members, including the coaches, saw them participating in class. Yet the solution was to remove two young children after they had already started. When I approached the front desk, expecting at least a simple apology for the confusion, I received none. Instead, I was repeatedly told that our class time was 6:30 PM, as if that somehow explained what had happened. The supervisor's response was no different. No apology. No acknowledgment that a mistake had been made. No attempt to take responsibility for the situation. What upset me most is that this review would probably not exist if someone had simply said, "We're sorry, we made a mistake." Mistakes happen. What matters is how they are handled. Instead, I was left feeling as though I was being blamed for following the instructions given by their own staff. My daughters were excited to be there. After being removed from a class they had already joined, they were confused, upset, and in tears. At that point, I requested a refund and decided not to continue. The coaches seemed great during the trial class, and my daughters genuinely enjoyed gymnastics. Unfortunately, the lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service completely overshadowed that positive experience. I cannot recommend this facility to other parents.
