After having a negative experience with a swim school, I decided to give Aqua-Tots a try. I walked in and asked staff a specific question. Is there an additional price for a child with a disability (mind you, I left my son in the car due to what we had just experienced at the previous swim school). No further questions were asked by the staff, she simply answered not and proceeded to show me the price list. She went straight to individual lessons. My son is 6 years old and autistic with no physical or cognitive disabilities. The media has spiked with autistic children drownings, and it is terrifying as a parent. It's been very hard and challenging simply trying to find a place if feel like he isn't judged or treated differently. read more

It's VERY disturbing to receive a call from my daughter regarding my grandson almost drowning due to the instructor (Trang) not being attentive. This is actually the second incident! The first was with me and now with my daughter. When the issue was presented to Management (Mitchell) he made excuses and didn't seem like it was a big deal!!!!! When asked if I could have the number for corporate he said "I can only give you an email address" which I found to be strange! He finally was able to provide a phone number to which I was able to speak with someone regarding my issue! Mitchell (Manager) actually hung up in our face b/c he said we weren't allowing him to speak. Well Mitchell if you had your kid to almost drown wouldn't you be upset!!!! Luckily you're dealing with mom and grandma because if you had to deal with Dad it wouldn't be so mild! There's NO EXCUSE PERIOD! NOT A HAPPY CAMPER! read more

I recommend Aqua-Tots Swim School on Cypresswood. My two granddaughters have only been going there a short time but they love it. The swim instructors are very knowledgeable & are very good with the children. They'll come & tell you how your child is doing & if there's anything they need to work on. They have showers where in the children can rinse off before changing into their regular clothes. The dressing rooms are nice & clean. They also have a device you can put the swimsuit into & it will ring it out. At the moment they're remodeling. That will be completed after Labor Day. I bet it's going to look fantastic. Very pleased with the skills being taught at Aqua-Tots, and with the progress my grandson is making due to lessons he attends here. Aqua-Tots' first concern is teaching its students water safety. When I first visited this location to inquire about lessons, you can clearly see that this is their mantra. The sequence of instruction was further explained, and observed, when he began formal swim instruction. Children are first taught how to breath in the water and safely navigate back to the side, particularly if they are pushed in (or fall in) a pool. After these skills have been mastered, instruction regarding proper use of legs, then arms, then those two in conjunction begins. They are also taught how to properly float, primarily on your back due to the availability of air when in that position. Each child is first assessed to determine their initial level of lessons. Their progress is tracked on a large lesson/progress card that is given to them each time they come in. Once a skill is mastered, they receive a green check, and once all green checks are earned, the child is moved up to the next level of more challenging instruction. Lessons are always promptly begun and the instructor is always very positive. Lots of "high fives" are given during the lesson, which absolutely delights (and encourages) my grandson. He is much more confident and able to navigate himself in the water, which was the real goal in signing him up for formal swim instruction. This facility is well maintained, clean and very child-friendly. It's also geared toward parent observation, with multiple comfortable chairs placed outside of and facing the pool to allow observation (a clear wall of windows from floor to ceiling encompasses the pool). Lessons can be done on an individual or group basis. The choice is yours, with group lessons being less expensive than individual ones. Make sure you read and fully understand the enrollment/cancellation policy and you are fully aware of the costs involved. Multiple waiver forms are required, as well. Sign up for email notifications, and you'll receive a reminder the day prior to a scheduled lesson. Make up lessons are available if you are unable to attend a scheduled instruction time. Again, I'm very pleased with the instruction my grandson has been receiving here. For his own safety, he needed to learn how to handle himself in the water, and he is certainly learning that here. read more

My son has been going here for a few months and it's great. He really loves it. They have an area for my one year to play while we wait for he brother. The staff are always polite. Their customer service is great. Some of the instructors (all depends who is teaching your child's level that day) ends class 5 or so minutes before it's supposed to be over. I dont know if the instructors are told to do that but most of the time the classes are exactly 30 minutes. read more

I would not normally suggest to deter away from a business, but we have been paying for a membership since the beginning of the year. My son should have graduated with an a few months, but I feel as though they were dragging out the level three for an extended monetary gain. As any parent knows with a three-year-old , sickness and interruptions in the schedule is reoccurring. Within a few months of signing up They changed the policy for make up classes. I am a rule follower, so that is not the problem, but I had two weeks left in our membership and aqua tots called to cancel one of my classes, forcing me to reschedule the make up. I had two classes left and I asked to move the rescheduled make up due to my sons schedule. One of the make- ups was on Aqua Tots lack of personnel issues. The staff that works the front desk is 100%, professional and awesome but when they asked the manager for permission to move one of my make up he refused. My son lost out on his last two classes before his membership ended because the manager would not reschedule at least one of the classes that his staff didn't show up to. I have a problem with the thought process on a management standpoint and business standpoint. Which is why I felt convicted and telling anyone who wants to go to this location to look elsewhere. read more

I have a million and one good things to say about aqua toys, but I'll keep it simple. I've had 3 children take swim lessons here and we all love it. We have had just about every coach there and I've had nothing less than stellar experiences with each and every one of them. Such friendly and professional staff, and they are truly superb with children of all ages. My older two were swimming unassisted faster than I expected but we keep coming back because we love it. I recommend them to everyone. Pricing is phenomenal, quality is excellent. Management is lovely. Customer service is great. My kids look forward to swim class all week. read more

We enrolled our daughters (4 and now 2 as of 5/8) on April 5th. We originally only signed them up for 1 class a week. Immediately after the first free class we added an additional class per week and haven't looked back since. The instructors are so attentive and really get to know your kids! They love their job and make sure to tailor their service to the children's needs. My daughters have flourished and are so much more confident in the water!!! My kids (2 and 3 years) have been going to weekly swim classes for a few months now! They are always so excited for classes and love their coaches. The staff is always very friendly and special shout-out to Mike who has dealt with the brunt of one my son's bad moods with a smile on his face as well as Coaches Alyssa (she's awesome!) and Sarah! I especially love that the coaches are consistent (as much as possible) which is great for young children so that they are with a familiar face!! Well a while ago my husband and I were searching for swim classes for our 6 year old and 3 month old at the time. We found Aqua-Tots and were very excited, were explained that the classes never expired so if we had to ever cancel a day they can put it in system as a make up class and that would never expire. Based on how hectic our schedules are I confided in the idea that if we ever had to make cancel a class I would have the ease of making it up on a different day, so we went all in. Prepaid 6 months for both our kids-- worst thing I could have ever done. Based on the fact that we were moving and my son had other activities we weren't too excited that they set all our classes on saturdays which of course they missed cause i couldn't always call in on time, but the times I did call I seriously confided that I could eventually make those days up. We're finally settled into our new place and able to final get the kids back on board and I call to set up their make up classes for this week, I get a call this morning saying I need to pay a whole set of classes, basically repay another plan in order for my kids to be able to access almost 3-4 months worth of classes they had in make ups. I kind of found this to be some worth of money scam. I'm truly dissatisfied, I didn't think they worked like this so I'm very disappointed. They should make it very clear from the beginning that if there's make up classes then the kids MUST make up during the time they have paid up to or until their renewing fee is up or whatever. I called another Aqua-Tots that stated they didn't work that way which is every more disappointing because you can't trust what these people say. The website says otherwise as well so I'm just over it. We will definitely search for something that will be honest from the very beginning, money lost and lesson learned... read more

I absolutely love this school the staff is so kind and personable the front staff always greets my son by his name every time we walk in. My son loves every instructors that he has had so far they are all so patient and kind. The place is always so clean and nice looking and the manager is always very attentive and always gives my son a high five when we arrive. I recommend this school to anyone looking for a great place where their child can learn how to safely swim at their own pace and in a fun way. My son has advanced so quickly the instructors are very knowledgeable I definitely feel a lot better taking him to a pool or swim park because I know that my son has been taught well. He does not panic in water and knows how to float and swim he's only two years old and already is very good at being careful around water. Took my almost two year old last Saturday for a trial class, he loved it. Due to the fact I left my wallet at home I was informed to call back with payment information in order to get him scheduled for class. When I called back on that Saturday, they had closed for the day. I made it my business to leave a message for a callback Monday to schedule my baby's class and take care payment. NO ONE BOTHERED TO CALL! I then was able on Tuesday to speak with an associate, but was encouraged not to schedule a class due to class times were being rearranged. I called back on Wednesday and left a message, again, ONE BOTHERED TO CALL ME BACK. I then called back today, finally spoke with someone to be informed that there were no Saturday slots available for my son! I am beyond dissatisfied at the customer service, who knows, I could've had my child booked for a Saturday class had someone,anyone took the time to return my phone call. Then, when I called and expressed the lack of professionalism to the manager, no responsibility was taken and no accommodations were made, he felt only the need to explain to me, classes fill up quick, really sir, really? I have now move my membership to the Aqua Tots in Cypress, and would not suggest this location no matter how close it's to your home. Not impressed with the level of customer service, other locations were left to apologize on their behalf. Sad. read more
