Amazing place! My 7 yo son learned to swim faster than the other 3 places we have tried. Definitely recommend!

Why 5 stars? Because our experience with Bonnie was the best case scenario…read more --- --- --- Our three year old son is kind of a crazy person. He's Olympic-level stubborn and is pretty far behind with certain aspects of his development. So when we decided to take him to swim lessons, we were pretty nervous that it was going to go like most other things we attempt to do: poorly. The first day, he didn't really know what he was getting into. He likes going to the pool, but he quickly realized that this was not just play time. Bonnie put him to work. So the next 3 lessons caused a massive meltdown and he put up a pretty major fight each day. But then he got sick and we had a trip plan, so our lessons were put on hold for a while and we re-started them about a month later. Miraculously, he was not mad about lessons at all during Round #2. He loved going and he quickly turned into an excellent swimmer. I write this a couple of weeks after he completed his lessons and he seems to be getting better each time we go to the pool. He always gets compliments from other people, especially when they find out that he's only 3 years old. This summer began with me having to either force floaties on him (surprise, he hated them), or I had to be holding him the entire time we were in the pool. Now, he is basically self-sufficient in the water. His swimming is very good, and he knows how to roll on his back and float when he's tired and needs air. I don't really understand how Bonnie teaches them to hold their breath under water - I assume they just figure it out the hard way after they get water up their nose a few times. But that might be the best thing swim lessons taught him. The only negative about these swim lessons were that they were at 3pm Monday-Thursday. And with both of us working, it was a challenge to have him home early from daycare, 4 days a week because he's not the type of kid that can just go entertain himself. But making sure he knows how to swim and minimizing the chance at any water-related disasters in the future is easily worth a few weeks of schedule inconvenience. The lessons are only 10 minutes a day and are held in someone's personal pool. Ours lasted 5-6 weeks. The routine was very similar each day, other than he had to wear regular (non-swim) clothes three times and I had to go in the pool with him once. Besides that, we would just sit off to the side and watch while he did mostly the same routine every day. And you know what? That schedule/routine worked amazingly! Bonnie is a true miracle worker.
