I narrowed my personal favorite dark roast to the columbian bucaramanga, Ethiopia konga, and the Yemen mocca. The shop is quaint and warmly decorated. There's a cluster of chairs & a couch around a coffee table or a large table for bigger groups. Aside from that, there's a bar and a few small tables for independent seating. Along with some beans, we ordered two matcha lattes that were high quality. As I studied, there was a consistent trickle of customers coming and going - a sign of a lively business. Since the space is small, it was a little noisy but I enjoyed the ambience. The next time I'm in need of a study spot or a good latte when visiting my family, I'll be sure to stop by again.

I tried a latte on both days a honey lavender and a maple bourbon. The maple bourbon was one of the better lattes I've had in the recent past and I'm not a huge latte drinker. I also tried a bagel with cream cheese and a bagel with the cinnamon butter. The toasted cinnamon was amazing. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to stop in. I can't wait to get back to CA and use the beans I picked up.

Even better right?? Well welcome to Parks Coffee! I've driven past this place so many times on PGBT that I googled them and saw they offered tours. So I immediately booked one and have to say it was well worth the cost. You get to see the behind the scenes and understand more about the process of making coffee. There is even a tour you can request in which you can roast your own bag (details on their website as it may change from when I post this). At the end of the tour you get to try a sampling of their single origin coffees that are paired with bite size pastries from a local bakery, La Casita, that were delicious! The pairings really brought out the notes in the coffee and even I felt like a coffee sommelier! Plus after the tour you get a discount at the coffee shop and it applies to their sweet shirts.
