They give fast service, even for take-out orders. Always friendly and the place is very clean. Today was a small order, one bacon egg and cheese on a hard roll and some home fries. The counter server immediately greeted me and knew I was there for pickup. She accommodated a last minute request for a Diet Coke and rang me out. She didn't miss a beat - offered napkins, silverware, condiments, salsa, etc. Once all set , I journeyed home and thoroughly enjoyed my hot food! The sandwich consisted of a multi-grain hard roll, American cheese, a healthy portion of bacon and one fried egg. Paired this with their salsa verde and it was made my tastebuds dance. Never thought salsa on an American style breakfast sandwich would match, but it was great! Hands down, the BEST home fries I've had in New York State (including "the city"). They appear unsuspecting, but when you place them in your mouth, there's an explosion of flavor that takes over from the boiled red potatoes to the garlic and onion...possibly boiled in broth or stock? Friends and I decided to go out to eat since it worked out that we're all together at the same time. I wanted a breakfast. I was also curious because I know Compadres Diner has Mexican food. They're on Route 9 in Saratoga they're in a very bright adorable blue building you go inside and there's the main Diner and then in the back they have a patio where you can bring a dog to sit outside. I brought my Charlie. Everyone was played when we got in they told us where we could sit and everything was clean and cute and nice. My one friend left because I bought my dog. My other friend and I ordered breakfast. My friend got eggs eyeballs up with a hash that he really liked. I got one egg bacon hash browns and in English muffin. Breakfast was really awesome I also got tea and horchata. The hash browns were lovely I haven't had any in a while. Everything was great. My horchata was awesome. We decided to get lunch because there's a mouse and we didn't want to shop and leave food on the counter until we displaced the mouse. We ordered a Philly cheese steak and al pastor tostadas. When we got home we were tired so my roommate put everything in the fridge. Normally if I know I'm going to eat it later I leave it out so it doesn't get cold. I was worried when I went to reheat it wouldn't be good but it was awesome. We had the tostadas. Roommate had two before me and then there was one left over. It is made with pork and I don't know it's in an Al Pastor but it is my favorite Mexican food item now. [Tostadas Choice of Meat, Black Beans, Lettuce, Tomato, Queso Fresco, and Sour Cream] I'm not a huge Bean fan but everything about this item was amazing and I will be ordering it again. The next day was lunch time and we pulled out a Philly cheese steak. I'd ask for the onions and peppers on the side cuz my stomach doesn't always like onions and peppers but there were some peppers in this though. There was also a container of onion and peppers. I took the fries and the sandwich out and put it on a tower grate that goes in the air fryer and halfway through I flipped the sandwich over so it get crispy on both sides. It's this thing was amazing leftover I can't imagine what it tasted like have you ate it there. And now that I'm thinking about it I really want to get in the car and go and get myself another Philly cheesecake. The fries were awesome they reheated awesome also. Roommate and I were very happy with the entire meal and the service. I would totally recommend people go to Compadres diner for breakfast and for Mexican. I didn't take any pictures there but when I had my yummy Philly cheese steak I took a few pictures of it and it is award-winning worthy. read more

2.5 stars. It's not easy to mess up Mexican food but this place seems to do it. I ordered the tamales which were over-microwaved. Way too much chili powder on everything. Chips were stale. The menu is extensive and has choices for traditional Mexican, Americanized-Mexican and regular hearty breakfast/lunch diner choices. We chose "regular" tacos, traditional tacos (one shrimp and one fish), tamales (which I was most excited about!), chips, salsa and guacamole. Servings are generous-especially the regular tacos and tamales. Traditional tacos are just the right size; the tortillas were a little different but homemade. Guacamole was delicious and so was the salsa. Homemade hot sauces had perfect kicks. I spied some other meals and observed giant fluffy pancakes, awesome looking omelettes and a kid enjoying his burger with fries. Service was friendly and fast. Wishing them long lasting success!! A very nice family small business here in Gansevoort, NY. Been eating there for the past couple of years. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food is always good. Every time they make their homemade chicken noodle soup, I order it plus take a quart container home. Today my family and me celebrated my 75 birthday. Very pleased by the way they were able to seat us in their outdoor tables. Six adults and twin four year old girls. Great breakfast and a great time by all. Love Compadres! read more

I'm not sure how to rate this place. We all had Mexican dishes and was an odd mix of American and Mexican cuisine. Two people had the burritos that came with coleslaw and pickles. One other had "taco salad" (will explain quotes in a minute) and me and my husband had faijitas. Also got small chips with guacamole for a couple guests. The guacamole was not flavorful but the chips were ok. Nothing to write home about there. The "taco salad" was taco shells filled with "taco meat" of your choice and with lettuce and tomatoes. So not the traditional taco salad we are used to but just tacos with different toppings. The burritos I heard were good. Not huge and came with coleslaw and pickles. So again not your traditional faire. I had fajitas and they were odd. Contained red and yellow peppers, "mushrooms" (which gave it non Mexican taste) and onions. It came with side of black beans (unflavored) and Mexican rice (bland). I ordered steak and the whole fajita mix was finely chopped so again not what I'm used to. I'm not sure I would venture here again. The flavors were mostly under seasoned and the presentation didn't really make the food seem appealing. Definitely not a place I would go out of my way for. My husband was eager to try this restaurant assuming it would be traditional Mexican food on par with Taqueria Guadalajara in Ballston Spa. Alas not even a little bit. Most of the menu spans breakfast-lunch-dinner of the usual diner fare with a smattering of "Mexican" dishes all available with fries for an additional charge - new one on me; not the extra charge - fries? as a side to traditional Mexican cuisine? We started with chips(semi-stale) and a small dish of very liquid salsa. My husband had enchiladas verde with chicken; arrived with a giant pile of rice and black beans and three bland enchiladas buried in shredded lettuce. I had tostadas; fried tortilla base so hard it could sub for a clay pigeon, dry, unseasoned ground beef topped with shredded lettuce, mozzarella cheese(?) and sour cream. Bland and didn't feel like traditional Mexican. Good size crowd with kids eating breakfast for dinner, adults ordering mostly American fare. Dinner for two with tip and a glass of cold(no!) If I could give 0 stars I would. I placed an order for pick up for 3 salad bowls. Only 1 was supposed to have steak in it for mine. Mine and my mom's both had steak in it. My mom cannot have red meat. When I called compadres to let them know what happened and asked if they could remake it. The woman I spoke to said I needed to bring in all three bowls so she could see there was steak in it. I had already eaten my bowl and my co worker had just eaten hers. They said they didn't care and they needed proof that two bowls had steak in it. We brought all of the food back. I will never eat here again read more

Went for dinner the other night and we were pleasantly surprised. My 8 year old got breakfast-pancakes, bacon, fruit cup and it was a generous portion. Fruit cup was actually cut up fruit in a cup. I was expecting the usual canned stuff in syrup, so I was impressed. He also got a half Caesar salad, which was excellent. Needed to ask for more dressing, but it arrived quickly and he was happy. We'll definitely go back for breakfast sometime. Now for my Mexican food, it was just ok. My go to is chile relleno and it was slightly soggy and way too much unmelted cheese inside. Flavor wasn't terrible, but also not amazing. Rice and beans were very bland, unfortunately. I don't think I would go back for that again. A family diner right here on Saratoga Road in Gansevoort (Wilton) New York. The people there are very friendly and make all homemade food. Not expensive and a nice place to have Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. My wife and I have had all three. Rosa who is the waitress there is very friendly and very accommodating. Their coffee is fantastic! I drink my coffee black with no sugar. I want to taste coffee and not all the stuff that hides the flavor. If you want a great and cheap place to eat, go to Amigos. They are in the process of changing the name to "Compadres". Personally both my wife and I like the name "Rosa's". Easy to remember and a perfect name for this establishment. But this is my opinion. The people are great, the food is great and it's local not the big chain companies. I had the eggs Benedict and my wife went with the corned beef hash and eggs, very delicious and can't wait to go back.
