A sure fire gem. This modern Mexican restaurant is by no means your local Mexican joint, its special. My family found ourselves in south beach without a dinner reservation and our hotel, the Moxy, suggested we check out Como Como. We were able to get a reservation and after eating there we were shocked. This place should be booked out weeks in advance. The ambiance is special, the service incredible (our server, Michael was an All Star) and the food is unique and delectable. It's sharing friendly, a great date spots, or a fantastic place for foodies to try great ingredients prepared in a unique manor with care and attention to detail. Hands down the best rack of lamb I have ever had. Kudos to the entire team both front of the house and back. Y'all rock! read more

My husband and I ended up in como como because we really wanted to go to mezcalita, we heard really good things and we LOVE mezcal. But they ended up closing it for good according to the hostess. As far as the food, it's authentic Mexican, good flavor just not something I'm crazy about coming back for, tiny portions as well. The restaurant is located in a cute boutique hotel, the vibe is nice, you dont have to be over dressed, and after you can swing by the rooftop. But like everything in south beach, you pay for the location. This restaurant is Extremely over priced for what it is, not wowed enough to drive back here. UNLESS mezcalita opens up again. Such a cool concept and one of a kind, there's really nothing like it in Miami so not sure why they closed down. If they marketed it right I know for a fact it would be a huge hit. it was our first time at Como Como and it was just fantastic! From the time we were greeted at entry until we left, the staff was very friendly and attentive. the food was freshly prepared and executed with precision and originality. Ok lets be honest, it's over priced. The salmon & the pescado appetizer were enjoyable. The sides of corn & potatoes a complete waste of money. I enjoyed the table side Caesar salad. Our server however was horrible. I looked down at the menu to ask a question and she was gone. She never asked if we needed anything after our food was brought out. She didn't explain the menu. I was in South Beach vising from NYC and stayed at the Moxy South Beach. We ate one evening at Como Como and in all honesty, it's some of the best seafood I've ever had! Stopped by Como Como for the Wednesday happy hour and did not regret it! Amazing deal - $2 oysters and $10 martinis and the vibe in the lounge area is great. We ended up staying for dinner because we loved it so much and had some amazing seafood - delicious whole fish grilled with red and green sauces, which reminded me of being in Mexico City. Went to Como Como for the first time for dinner with my husband and had an amazing experience. The food was delicious - incredible seafood like nothing else in Miami where you can watch them cook it over an open fire right in front of you. We got the Tikin-Xic and loved watching the whole fish being unwrapped from the banana leaf! Also some really special cocktails - we ordered a purple cocktail that had a bubble popping right on top of it. Loved the vibe of the DJ on Friday night and overall amazing service. read more

So disappointing. It's a very pretty restaurant, but... Seated in the lounge for cocktails before dinner, order a dozen oysters. "Dressed oysters" had a small dollop of flavorless green sauce. No napkins, ask, they bring us a stack of paper cocktail napkins. Downhill from there. Caesar salad is prepared table side with a "grand show" a la Disney, including unnecessary descriptions of every step. Result is just drenched in dressing (was removed from our check.) Order branzino at $30, server suggests whole snapper at $60. Order a pinot wine at $75, server suggests a different bottle at $300. My wife orders Camarones al Ajillo, warned that it was "spicy." Result was not only not spicy, not much flavor at all. My branzino was fine, corn side dish quite good. Check arrives, (a) 18% service charge is automatically added to check, and (b) the $75 wine is now $100. Explanation given is that "we are adjusting our prices, just didn't get to that wine yet." Wonder about all the guests that don't fully review the checks. Really mediocre experience, and definitely not what one might expect for $300. read more

Stay away from this wannabe "hotspot". What a joke. Our reservation was cancelled on us and we were turned away because they were understaffed. The restaurant was mostly empty and they couldn't seat a party of 4 on a Wednesday's night! How about calling your reservations ahead of time so they don't show up. Every other restaurant on mIami beach is packed every night. Why do you have trouble finding employees? Why even take reservations if you can't honor them? read more

This place was super nice! Had a dinner party and everything was perfect from the food to the service to the drinks. The GM David really makes you feel at home. Finally when your done eating you can head to a little speakeasy in the backroom and have a cpl more drinks and dance the night away! SCAM WARNING!!! I had visited this restaurant before and LOVED the food and the mixology program, so I invited my friend who was out of town to join me. Due to this restaurant being located in Miami Beach, it has 18% gratuity added to the bill- and up until that point 18% was great and we settled our bill down the middle. The next day they had added OVER $100 in additional gratuity to our credit cards. We've tried contacting the restaurant multiple times to be directed to a voicemail box that is full. From the moment we pulled into the valet parking behind the Moxy (valet is at 915 Collins Court, Google map it, the alley between Washington and Collins- $18 with restaurant validation) the staff of the hotel valet and the restaurant was very helpful, courteous, and accommodating. They spent money on restaurant design and the room is very nice, maybe not Miami chic but, thoughtful, interesting, and warm. Andy at the bar made me one of the best Gibsons I've ever had and was very nice. Our waiter Neil was my brand of thoughtful, attentive, and yet, easy going. The guacamole seems overpriced but was outstanding. Start with a single portion for a group of four and see if you want more because there are a lot of good sharing items. The pulpo carnitas (flash fried octopus) was deliciously noteworthy in a town where every restaurant serves octopus. The rest of my group eagerly ordered the Negro oysters and even though I don't care for oysters, I tried one and these were phenomenal. The gorgeous and deceptively simple Acapulco ceviche was so clean, fresh, and with a kick. (If you can't take the heat, see if they can do it without the jalapeño) Two of our party ordered a steak to share and while appropriately cooked to order; it was a little dry and it wouldn't be my choice with all of the great seafood options. On the other hand, the artichokes and the mushrooms were simple dishes that were absolutely extraordinary! Our dinner for four was quite spendy. It won't be my regular but, I will be back and for my Miami gourmands, I highly recommend trying it! read more
