I was told by more than one person how great Bill is at WTL. I called and asked for a consultation…read moreon my property for both treatments and pruning. The guy who came for the treatment consultation (Bartlett) was very nice, professional and had answers to my questions. Bill's partner who came to quote the pruning was nice enough but when I asked for a price, I was given a very vague answer that it would cost "X" but "X" wouldn't guarantee that the job would be complete. So I asked 2 more times what would be the cost to complete the job and finally I got an answer but it was 2X! Significantly higher than anyone else. I decided not to go with them. I was disappointed I didn't get Bill. Everyone said he's the honest one. He's the knowledgeable one. I noticed my neighbors aren't using WTL anymore either. Be careful when you sign with them. Make sure you read your contract. Be sure your quote is to complete a job, not just for part.

This company must have been terrific in years past, given how many of my neighbors recommend them…read more Sadly, not anymore. They took down a bunch of troubled trees. First, they screwed up the permit, filing an inaccurate description of the property. Whatever. Then, they failed to show up on the day of the appointment. Annoying, but forgivable. Then they did the work and I paid up. And then, last month -- three years after the job -- the local government writes me to say the permit was never closed. The company promised the village that we would replant seven trees. That seems like a sensible rule, and we will comply, BUT the company never bothered to tell us this and left the permit open. And when I called them to get their help closing out the permit, they ignored me. When I persisted, the guy who did the job, Remy, came out and said this was not his problem. But the village had sent me his permit language on his letterhead promising to do something he never did and never discussed with me. Surely that makes it his responsibility. He reluctantly said he would take care of this and then disappeared. I left messages for the owner, Bill Davies. He never responded. This is shady behavior.

ATLAS TREE SERVICE IS *EXCELLENT*!…read more We had been delaying having several large trees removed from our property--partly due to the exorbitant costs we were being quoted, and partly due to the enormity of the project and concern for potential damage to landscaping on our (and our neighbors') property. The job was also complicated and worrisome because the trees were among ConEd electrical lines. By chance, we had seen an Atlas Tree Service truck while driving. A quick Google search showed a 4.9 (out of 5) star rating with over 200 reviews. We called Antonio (the owner) who came over promptly. He provided a quote and to our delight, his prices were more than reasonable (by a large margin). After a week's worth of work which included trimming all the smaller trees on our property in addition to removing very large trees. Antonio and his crew left without a trace that they were here. His guys (and daughter!) were meticulous in their efforts, hard-working, efficient, professional, and pleasant. Antonio is an honorable man who is extremely experienced, easy, and pleasant to do business with. To summarize, we cannot say enough good things about Atlas Tree Services.
