This is my second visit to Community Radiology and unfortunately my last. A couple of weeks ago, I came here with my daughter and experienced the same issues. Once again, we were told to arrive early for check-in, which we did--only to wait 45 minutes to over an hour past our scheduled appointment time. It took 30 minutes just to be checked in, and once we were finally called back to another area, we waited there for an extended period as well. To make matters worse, the test being performed required a full bladder prior to the appointment. By the time the test actually started, we had been waiting nearly two hours while holding a full bladder, which is extremely uncomfortable and completely unacceptable. If you know your facility is understaffed or running behind, patients should be notified in advance. There is no respect for people's time here, especially for children and for procedures that require specific physical preparation. I will never return to this location. I will continue to support American Radiology in Columbia, MD, where wait times are reasonable and, more importantly, patients are called ahead of time to reschedule if staffing issues arise. I called for an appointment and was told I needed a preauthorization for an mri. I do not. But their insistence delayed my treatment and pain relief. I called my insurer and confirmed ii dont need a preauthorization. called for an appointment and made an apppt right away. The scheduler says some schedulers automatically you need one because UHC is so difficult to work with. Day of scan wasn't any better. the front desk intake woman was RUDE, cold and intimidating, which i assume was her game all along. No need to treat patients like people. the machine was basic, no music or visuals to help you through it, No message asking if I was doing ok, or telling me how much longer the test would take. But they were pleasant and competent. when I left I was given the requested disk promptly. But was told results would take 3 - 5 business days and another 3 for the report to be posted to the patient portal. Find another place to get your MRI. read more

Never received my results. Will not go back to this office. AWFUL. Told to get there early and waited and waited some more. Tech was nice and professional but will not go back and still to this day never got my results for my mammogram. read more

My wife came here for an ultrasound. This establishment has incompetent patient intake procedures. They did not process , and refused to process our insurance and forced my wife to pay out of pocket fully for their services, when our insurance covers most of the fees.... When my wife mentioned that our copay for radiology is $50, the front desk proceeded to tell she either pays in full or that they would cancel her appointment. All they had to do was process the insurance, which was provided ahead of time. On top of this, they did not deliver the result of the ultrasound to her OB.... Our insurance company has been trying to get in touch with them to get them to refund our our money and have come up against the runaround. At best, this is grave, incompetence, at worst, malicious intent . We will be notifying the attorney general. read more

I was hesitant to come back after my last experience; however, I was swayed by proximity to give this place another shot. The waiting room had been completely renovated since I was last here. It looks really professional/nice. I made an appointment for my first mammogram the day before and went with the first available appointment of the day, which is 7:45AM. I uploaded all my required documents the night before my appointment and showed up at 7:25AM. There were already 8 people in the waiting room. Check in is in suite 100. It was quick, I was given a document with a code to check my results in a few days and I was called back by the tech a few minutes before my appointment time. The process was quick. The tech was kind and thoughtful. I walked out the door by 7:52AM. I was very pleased with the experience and will return to this location for mammograms in the future. read more

I think the pictures posted here are from suite 100, not 105 where I waited for my X-rays. The lobby of the building is quite nice compared to the sparseness of this office suite. It was very sparsely furnished. That's ok, because I wasn't there very long. I arrived at 11:30 on a Friday afternoon, and there were only a handful of people in the waiting room. After I signed in, the receptionist gave me some papers that I needed to sign, and she took my co-pay promptly. The technician that was doing my x-rays was the one that took me back to the room. He was very friendly. I had three x-rays of my knee and I was out of there in no time at all. I chose this location because it was on my way home from work and easy access off the Beltway. There is plenty of parking too. read more

We've been here a few times for various x-ray needs for our aging bodies (chest, ankle, knees). On all three occasions we were told that it is a walk-in facility so walk in we did, without appointment. Last year in January the staff were super busy, the interior was crowded with waiting patients, and the wait time was 1-2 hours to be taken back. This time (today) there was only one other person sitting in the waiting area, two front desk staff, and operation seemed fairly smooth. The overall wait time significantly diminished compared to the last few times. So it really does depend on when you go and how many others are waiting to be seen, so it's hard to predict how long you'll be there for. The lobby area is super fancy with marble walls and flat-screen TVs embedded into a cutout in the wall. Some nice facility enhancements! The staff were friendly and competent and wearing face masks. There's an obnoxious ad on loop on the TV that could drive you delirious. You know, when you start memorizing the script! read more

I received a text concerning my appointment at CRA Frederick. I called the listed number at 1-888-601-0943 on November 6, 2024 at 11:46 am. The lady who answered the phone will hear my inquiry but remained silent. I asked several times if she was there. Every time she answered "yes, I am here," but would not comment or answer my question. I asked for her name and she hanged the phone. Extremely poor customer service. read more

I don't have a problem with CRA I'm general, but this location is TERRIBLE!! I hate coming to this one, but because of the tests I needed and the urgency, it was my only option. It is always way too crowded, slow (Updated: More than 2+ hours) and the staff is unprofessional. Avoid this location if you can!!! read more

The people who work here are great and kind and professional. However, corporate could do a much better job with the renovation and upkeep of this facility which serves many neighborhoods and is right off the Beltway. Seems biased that this location is always less appealing than other zip codes in the area. This is unfair. This area deserves more!!! We pay taxes too. read more

My visit to this location for an ultrasound was extremely positive! I was a bit apprehensive after reading other reviews especially related to social distancing concerns. Making an appointment was easy and I was able to be seen the following day. I was advised to text on arrival so I did and waited in my vehicle. I was messaged shortly after advising me to enter. Be aware that they're currently doing construction in the building lobby however the entry is still accessible. Two other patients waiting outside the door and a couple more were in the waiting area. The waiting area was socially distanced and barriers were placed between seats. The employee who checked me in was friendly and helpful. There was also a barrier between employees and clients. My waiting time was short and I was taken back at my appointment time. Nah (radiology tech) was fantastic! She introduced herself and explained the process while leading me back to the room. The MD office had entered the order incorrectly so she explained that she needed to make a correction which she did and quickly returned to the room. We had an engaging conversation during the procedure which didn't take long. I'd return to this location without hesitation! read more

Looking for a radiology center where you another staff member will burst through the door as the tech is performing an ultrasound and your breast exposed and covered in gel? Want to then listen as the tech, who stops her work and leaves you lying there exposed, and the staff member, who burst in, discuss yet another patient in front of you (violating their privacy, too) while you wonder when the heck one of them may come to thier senses and realize they should leave or maybe apologize and leave? In other words, want to ensure that you are treated with zero respect and dignity as a patient? THIS is the place for you!! Unfortunately, Community Radiology has big presence in the area. But there are other options. I'm never coming back here again and will go to The Radiology Clinic in Rockville even though it's three times farther away from my house. read more

service quality has been great. Issue is with billing. Even though I have a good medical insurance plan with a big company they made me pay what they thought my deductible was. Then my insurance company paid 100% of their allowed charge and they claim I have no balance when I should have a credit back for the amount I was charged. watch out for this detail, as the insurance declaration of benefits will stay what was the discounted amount (in-network) and who paid the reminder and how much the patient owes. In my case they showed I owed 0 and that they paid the same amount I paid again at a later date when they processed the claim. This is a double wammer, as not only they got paid twice, but what I paid was not considered against the deductible. They give you a receipt indicating your authorization for them to bill the credit card after the inurance companyadjudicates the claim, but charge the card immediately even before submitting the claim. This happened at their Bethesda office. It was the first time this happened there, but there were a lot of new faces behind the counter, so I suspect untrained staff not following the expected process. read more

Arrive 15 minutes early and fill your forms out online just to wait an hour for your appointment. Don't forget to drink 18 ounces of water 45 minutes before your appointment time, just to sit for an hour past your appointment time. Go to another location, this one is overflowing and extremely slow. read more

Folks, it's almost impossible to get in for an appointment. You are better to have pain and go to ER for ultrasound. You can't just call and see if they have any cancellations or check for open appointments dates without FIRST answering - full name, phone, date of birth , referring Dr name.... All unnecessary if a person simply wants to know " do you have open appointments or cancellation". Ridiculous amount of info to just get one question answered. read more

I came here for an MRI for my knees. I hadn't read the reviews prior to arrival. My appointment was at 6:30 but I was asked to come in by 6 so I arrived by 5:30. I signed standard forms and waited to be called. When I submitted my forms the receptionist didn't say anything so I asked if I should take a seat and be called. She said yes (the staff was very into the Game show playing on tv instead of customers. Secondly, this place is in a shady area but I had physical therapy in the building before and their services were good so I gave it a shot. The wait wasn't TOO bad and once I was called it went quick. The person operating the machine is far more customer service friendly than the desk girls. read more

Good service at location but horrible back office and management. Overcharged on three separate occasions which is fueling this review. Double credit card charges. Over charged at point of service and then they overcharged my insurance company. Takes months to get refunds and an average wait time of 20 minutes to get through to human as they are always 'experiencing higher than average call volume'. So frustrating. read more

My ENT referred me to the Community Radiology Associates office in his bldg.They have two offices on the first floor. Both were packed. I went downstairs thinking I could walk in. I was informed however I needed an appoinment and my insurance required a three day wait. So, I should sign in and would be called up to make an appoinment or I could just call the appoinment line (which appeared to be their preference). There were 3 individuals working the front desk. I waited 40 minutes to make an appoinment. When I was finally called up, just to make an appoinment, the staff was nice enough. I returned for my scheduled appoinment 15 minutes early to complete paperwork, etc. There were three people working the front again. I waited 25 minutes before I was called up to provide ID, insurance info, and update paperwork. I was finally called for scheduled service 32 minutes after my scheduled appoinment. Let's just say customer service is not their forte. And, know that if you receive service here you will need to go on a day you have plenty of time to wait because clearly appoinments make no difference in wait time. I gave them 3 stars because the tech who did the service was nice and patient. Otherwise, it would be more like 1.5. So, just be ready for the front desk experience. read more

I have had several appointments at this location (lower level/ basement) and never had a pleasant experience. There are two females that work the front desk and each of them treat patients like trash. They don't acknowledge individuals that arrive and if someone arrives they tell them to sit down like a dog. I have waited over 30 minutes and was never acknowledged. The individual would just state at the patients while having a conversation on the telephone. Everything is such a chore ....they complain about patients requests as if one has asked the impossible! People come to these facilities due to pain or illness and to be treated in such manner is unacceptable. I will be returning to the Lockwood location. Stay away from from this location unless you want to spend half the day in the waiting room. read more

I've been to the Lockwood drive location and the 2 Olney locations all are well run and treat patients with respect. The location on New Hampshire Ave pales in comparison. The clientele is multi cultural and the staff is multi lingual- still it's not hard to tell when they are openly and loudly scolding a patient for not completing a form properly or bringing the wrong referral. The front desk team openly argue with each other - "why can't you do it?" "I'm doing too many things." There's one office for Sonos and mammograms and another for X-ray, patients are sent back and forth with no communication between the two offices and the patient is peppered with questions they can't answer. In fairness when things go perfectly the staff is nice to the patient- maybe they just need some sensitivity training. Maybe set up an exchange program with other locations to familiarize staff with better ways to cope. Time management in scheduling is a problem as it seems most appointments start late. The technician who did my procedure was lovely respectful and kind. She deserves 5 stars. read more

They can't tell you if radiology tech who will be doing an intimate mammogram is vaccinated or not! Called three times to ask. Informed their policy is not to ask. So someone who is potentially unvaccinated will be up close and personal for 10 or more minutes in a tiny room? These folks don't care about our health. Last year the waiting room was way overcrowded and people were packed in like sardines. Ugh. Stay away! read more

Crowded lobby during a pandemic- seats were NOT 6 feet apart and had flimsy plastic barriers like that would do anything? Felt very unsafe.

Do not go here! I went here for a CT scan with contrast. The provider couldn't find my veins for the IV and started to PUNCH my arm to try to get the veins to appear - this isn't the first time there have been issues finding my veins, but no one has ever punched me before! As she was unsuccessful, I was asked to wait several hours in a small changing closet for another provider to try to give me the IV. The next provider did not move me to a real patient room, but rather stood in the entry way of the closet and just shoved the needle into my skin and poked it around unsuccessfully until I passed out. I then gained consciousness to find cockroaches running across the floor. The provider looked at me and jokingly said "where did those come from?!" I finally got the IV but it was placed in my hand and I was told to hold my hand during the procedure as the hand isn't usually used for this procedure and it could start to swell dangerously. However, I was not warned that the contrast entering the IV in my hand would be extremely painful. I had called a week ahead to ask if I would need an IV and was incorrectly told that I would not need one, so I was definitely not expecting this ordeal. read more

Extremely poor communication and digital messaging system. Gave us an appointment on a Sunday (which is closed, so I am assuming they meant Saturday), but they sent multiple text messages confirming the appointment for an MRI. Messages never specified date and time of appointment OR address! On Saturday, the txt message said that the appointment was for TOMORROW (in CAPS!). Needless to say, we went to the Lockwood drive location on Sunday, which was closed. Then we drove to the New Hamshire Ave location, also closed! We called, no one picked up the phone and the answering machine did not specify anything about which dats are open or closed. If you have other choices, spare yourself this location. Pure incompetence! read more

The location is convenient. They NEVER see you on time. The wait is typically 30 minutes after your appointment time. And, the never seem to be any urgency to get back on schedule. UPDATE: sadly, I had to go back. It was worse than before. Never again will I go there. It's literally faster to drive 30 minutes somewhere else, because the staff in Rockville is SO much better. read more

Staff were friendly and professional and the MRI experience was great. The post-appointment dealing with their billing office was a nightmare, however. We received multiple bills for the copay, then got a refund check in the mail, and then a letter from a collection agency saying that we owed them more than $500. It is unfortunate that the wonderful medical staff are not backed up by competent administrators who handle insurance and billing. In the end we were left feeling we got scammed somehow and we will go elsewhere in the future. Recommend you do too. read more

My wife visited a couple of CRA locations for services, and we thought the establishment was okay, and the people were helpful and friendly. We are pretty satisfied with the level of care offered by this organization. We are not happy with the level of communication from the billing department and other customer support post-procedure. Miscommunication on many levels, lax record-keeping, and unkept promises, CRA found every opportunity to mess up our requests to resubmit claims to a new insurance carrier. Every time we would call, they would not know what we were talking about, and every time the new phone operator assured us that they would rectify the situation. They constantly say, "it's in the works," call back in 2, 10, or 20 business days, but we are still waiting months later, and the situation has only deteriorated since. All we want to do is pay the correct bill, and CRA makes this a very, very difficult process. We can't recommend CRA for these reasons. read more

I came back here a second time to do a mammogram. The staff was very friendly. As usual they were extremely professional and they got me in and out. This exam can be very overwhelming but they always make me feel comfortable. read more

The company should retrain or terminate the two receptionists working on the morning of 10/3/2019, 7:40 AM, White Oak facility. Both receptionists treat patients worse than cattle in a slaughterhouse. During my visit: They mocked patients who waited for their appointments. They made no attempt to hide their inappropriate remarks. They joked about the elderly not understanding medical paperwork. They sneered at patients with legitimate questions about insurance and medical procedures. They ranted about the 'stupid' father who brought his two kids for an exam, but inadvertently showed up at the wrong office. There's an expected level of empathy and courtesy when dealing with infirmed patients who face the prospect of being diagnosed with a devastating disease; yet, these two receptionists carelessly violate any sense of humanity and respect for the infirmed. Hey, receptionists, if you are reading this post: remember to treat others as you wish to be treated. One day you will attend a doctor's office or diagnostic center. Let's hope they treat you better than the shameful treatment you provided on 10/3/2019. read more

The only reason I'm not giving this place one star is because my technician was pleasant and seemed competent. First, the waiting room for the 101 office is seriously gross. I had to scope out a clean chair, and even then I pulled my dry clean only jacket up so that only my washable jeans were touching the chair. The waiting room is chaos, it's crowded, and I couldn't even hear the questions the receptionist was asking me because it was so loud. This place was pretty bad. The waiting room situation is crowded and confusing. Staff at front don't make it any easier by not being very friendly. The procedures themselves were fine, albeit in a cramped dirty room. I won't lie, if I were a woman I might feel a little creeped out by the awkwardness of the exams. I had a CT with contrast today. Everyone was great. Friendly and professional. Ms. Favor was particularly helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I was able to get my scan done today. My insurance company approved me for a different location. I preferred this location as it is in close proximity to my home. She got in touch with the insurance company and got the approval so I could keep my appointment. The technician that did my scan made sure to explain the steps to me and what to expect. She was very informative. I give 5 stars and would recommend this facility to anyone inquiring. I will continue to use them for any future needs. Also had my mammogram done here. P DiPaola read more

The front desk person was helpful, efficient, and professional. The tech was demeaning, and didn't want to use a protective blanket to cover the parts that didn't need the x-ray. It was super-unprofessional and frustrating. Not what one needs when an x-ray is required. We won't go back. read more

This is a review for a cervical MRI performed at Bethesda Imaging Center on July 17, 2020. Pros: Very quick. I was in and out in one hour. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Good price. Cons: Hard to find due to confusing signage. If you turn off Democracy Blvd. onto Fernwood, it is the first location on the right. Follow arrows to get parking ticket and enter parking lot. Take your ticket with you to pay in lobby of Camalier Building. Parking cost $8 for one hour. read more
