I had an excellent experience while getting an MRI at CRA. The staff is absolutely wonderful. CRA definitely gets an A+ for customer service...at least in person. I did have a bit of trouble finding the right person to speak to on the phone. I'll say that the two women women working at the receptionist desk during my visit were extremely nice. Setting an appointment was a breeze, and CRA provides an option to complete all of your paperwork online before your visit. Checking in was also a breeze. Although I arrived about 20 minutes before my check in time (just as a just in case since I was a 1st time patient), they let me start my MRI a bit early, which was great. Just like the women at reception, the MRI team were super nice too. The facilities were quite clean and looked maintained. However, I was a little concerned that the warm water in the restroom was white even after running the water for a couple of minutes. CRA/medical park has a decent number of free parking spaces, which is becoming more rare these days, so that's one less thing to worry about. Actually, the parking situation is why I arrived earlier than my check in time, because it seems impossible to find free parking in this area. The medical staff vary from adequate to great. The front desk staff also vary from pleasant and competent to quite rude. What is motivating me to write this review is because we received a check for a bit over $100 from them. We assumed this was a refund after being overcharged, and of course medical billing is arcane so who knows what it's for. Months later, they cancel the check, fail to tell us, and we get the money pulled out out of our checking account and charged for the privilege by our bank. Thanks a lot, CRA. I'll ask my doctor to find somewhere else to refer me. read more

I had always given Community Radiology a 5 star rating in the past, but things seem to be slipping over the past year. For example, they cancelled my appointment to soon and when the insurance came back the appointment had already been cancelled by Community Radiology. And just yesterday I went for an X Ray which is now a walk in appointment. Their web site should say that you need to arrive before 4:00 for a walk-in X Ray and that the technician leaves at 4:30. The website only says that Community Radiology closes at 5:00 pm. I could not find anyone to talk to when I called to see when I should arrive for the X Ray. read more

There's no good way to get around having a mammogram. I can't say, "It was great!" No one likes getting their boobs squashed between two plastic bricks. The great things about this location though are 1) their friendly staff , 2) weekend and evening appointments and 3) ease of making an appointment with no month-long wait time. That's right. I called last week and was able to get an appointment less than a week later. They saw me on time. It only took about ten painless minutes. I left with one less chore on my list of things to do and also a pink nail file and breast cancer awareness water bottle to boot! read more

Terrible place. Do not bother. I called and was told by the friendly person responding that I had a 9:30 appointment and to show at 9am. Apparently whomever booked the appointment screwed up and did not actually book my appointment. If they can't have a competent scheduler the rest of their service is likely also not capable. Community Radiology Associates - Don't waste your time - Diagnostic Imaging Near Me - Silver Spring, Maryland

One of the reviewers of this facility seems to have had a very bad experience, and I can understand her very low rating. But in fact I've used this service many times for procedures ranging from an ultrasound to an MRI, and never had any problems like that. My only complaint is that there are some procedures that require advance appointments and others that can be done on a walk-in basis, and nowhere that I've found where they say which is which. However, today I had an MRI done and what happened was that I walked in and was told that this required an appointment -- and yet, they were able to schedule an appointment for 1 pm the same day (It was after 10 in the morning)! So I was able to just go for lunch and come back afterwards, not much less convenient than if they could do it on a walk-in basis. Another thing that was somewhat problematic is that this time they wanted advance payment of the $100+ co-pay -- and fortunately, today I had enough money in my account that I could just use my bank ATM/debit card to pay it. On every other occasion they simply billed me later; I don't know why this time had to be different. But these negative things are relatively minor. I certainly would not think of giving them a 1-star rating; however they do influence my decision to give them 4 rather than 5. read more

I have visited Clinical Radiologists for an MRI and routine, and follow up, Mammograms. The appointment time is always respected, and if they are running behind they let you know right away - they don't make you wait and then mention it. The techs are terrific. The facility is well kept and clean. They will give you everything you need for follow up quickly and upon request. Results go very quickly to your doctors. Parking is ample and available. One star is too good for this place! My husband was there for an MRI of his knee. First, when he called and asked if they have an open MRI, they said yes. He asked if his head had to go through the machine and they said no--just his knee--and it would take about 30 minutes. (he is extremely claustrophobic!). So he gets there and somebody came with a wheel chair to assist him to the MRI, but the guy REFUSED to put my husband's feet on the foot rest. He told him, "just hold your legs up". Can you imagine worse customer service, or less safe? But it got even worse. It was NOT an open MRI and they said it would take 3 hours--a far cry from 30 minutes. There is no reason to go there with so many other radiology places in the area. read more

I arrived early to drink the barium required for my procedure, which is supposed to be drunk in advance, but they did not give it to me until I had already been there for at least 15 minutes (I was in the middle of filling out forms, so they knew I was there). I had to wait over an hour, maybe 1 1/2 hours. The chairs are horrible--all the seats are sprung. I mentioned it to someone who worked there, because I was switching chairs trying (unsuccessfully) to find a comfortable one, and this person said many clients complain but the company (Radnet, who owns a whole network of these around the country) will not do anything about it. Another employee said sitting in those chairs was like sitting on a toilet bowl (without the seat!)--true! When you have to sit there for a long time, it is painful on your whole spine and especially your thighs. After my procedure, the technologist used a type of clear plastic tape that is way too strong / sticky to hold a sterile gauze pad on my needle stick spot. When I removed it, it not only hurt, it caused a line of bruises across my inside elbow. There is a better, stretchy, cloth tape that sticks to itself and doesn't hurt. It must cost more and this company seems too cheap, since they won't even get decent chairs. UPDATE: I was contacted by the company due to the complaints in my review and we had a conversation. Based on that, I have decided if they fix the chair problem, I will adjust my review accordingly. The people here are good and the clinical care is good here, based on my experience. 2nd UPDATE: I came back in October for another procedure. Despite their going to the trouble of figuring out who I was and calling me to express concern about my previous complaints, the chairs are exactly the same! No change! 3rd UPDATE Jan. 2016: NEW CHAIRS! YAY! read more

Very impressed with their service, bedside manner, and follow-up. I went there for a mammogram and breast-ultrasound. First, I arrived 1h30 before my scheduled appointment hoping they would fit me in earlier. They did! Without asking any questions! I had to wait no longer than 10 minutes. Second, my P.A. hadn't filled out the exam request correctly, so it was missing the ultra-sound request. The admin personnel were very patient in helping me get a hold of my P.A., talking to her, and getting my ultra-sound done even without the correct request. All of the exam professionals (the one doing the mammogram and the one doing the ultra-sound, plus the assistants who take you from the waiting room to the exam room) were super courteous, solicitous, and had a very reassuring manner. A mammogram always provokes some anxiety, but their quiet smiles and calm demeanor made all the difference. They gave me my results in writing right after it was all done, and later I received the results by mail. My P.A. was notified on the very same day. (Luckily my results were all clear, so that helps of course, but regardless it was nice to have such prompt and clear documentation.) I will definitely come back if I need other exams. I know that they have different offices for different types of exams (right next to each other, but each with separate reception rooms, staff etc.) I wonder if the negative review was about one of the other offices. I have nothing but positive things to say about the mammogram office. read more
