I have been a patient of Dr. Jalali's for many years and previously had positive experiences. Over the past couple of years, however, I've noticed significant changes in the practice. Appointments often run very late, and visits feel rushed despite long wait times. It has also become difficult to receive certain services or medication support, especially when prior authorizations are required. I've felt that the level of communication and follow‑through has declined, and some issues I raised were not addressed in a timely or consistent way. Because of these changes, I ultimately decided to transition to a different provider. I hope the practice is able to improve its processes moving forward. read more

I love my doctor there, and my issue is not with the doctors. Whoever it is that is supposed to send prescriptions to the pharmacy: what are you doing? I should not have to schedule a new appointment less than a week after the previous appointment to get a prescription that you all said you were going to send to the pharmacy. You delayed my care and I ended up sicker as a result. I have to agree with some of the negative reviews I've seen elsewhere, regarding your for-profit status. You used to be great and I would recommend you to everyone, but I just don't know that I can do that anymore. This is the third time I've had a problem with the prescription and it's been every single time. I had to have a prescription sent from this office, they will try to make me do another appointment just to get it. That's not OK. read more

almost 9 months after seeing Dr. Garren for a serious knee condition, I am no better off than before. She seems caring but as soon as I leave, the caring stops. I was told to be patient, but when you're in pain, 9 months is not acceptable for just trying to be diagnosed. On top of all that, one of their triage nurses, Rashida is extremely unprofessional. Not sure who trains their staff but clearly, they don't do enough to educate them. As of this post I was discharged for expressing my frustration's of not getting any results. I repeatedly requested to deal with another staff member but I was refused. She said she was the boss and if I did not like it there were not choices. I would not recommend going to MedPeds in Laurel MD. they are rude and very unproductive, With the current health care measures requiring peer-to-peer consultations, MedPeds does not do their part. I spent hours trying to manage what Dr. Garren would prescribe only to get ZERO results. Zero! and now I have to start over with another practice. This is about trying to be treated, they are not doing their job. I am not there to be friends with people, I just want to be treated and make the pain go away. The doctor was great, but what I have a problem with is the front desk receptionist. They are usually nice, but this one specific lady, I don't know her name but she was hispanic. Rudest person ever, had an attitude. She acted like she didn't want to be there. looks at me with a stank face like I was the problem when I was nothing but nice to her trying to check out. People like this should NOT be working at doctor offices. read more

This review is directed to the receptionist who scheduled appointments. On 12/24/19, I called to make one for my husband who had a severe rash. His last visit was 9 years ago so he was not an active patient and had to be reestablished in the system. Receptionist offered an appointment on January 22, one month later. I was hoping something sooner like the current week. She didn't seem to see the urgency and seemed annoyed when I called. There was no sense of caring or offering other solutions like seeing the nurse practitioner or other doctors in the office who were not my husband's designated doctor. I found this practice through the recommendation of a friend. I've been here twice now and have been impressed. I have not had a long wait. I'm greeted in a pleasant manner when I check in. I've received prompt follow up calls with all my test results and questions. Never a long hold when calling with a question or for an appointment. All pluses in my book! I see Dr Karen Plunkett Reid at this practice. Love her friendly, easy going demeanor. Things are still new but so far, so good. I had a physical and she was very thorough in her examination. She patient in answering my questions and providing insight and referrals for a couple of issues I've had. I also like that the offices are on the campus of a medical facility so I was able to go get follow up testing right there after my appointment. Very pleased all around so far. read more

I've been going to the practice for almost 4 years. I've been seeing Dr. Reema Jalali and I ADORE her. She never rushes our time, she allows me to discuss anything I have on my mind, and she truly cares. I work in healthcare and I know how it can be sometimes with physicians stacking on patients to meet the need of CMS to get reimbursed. However I feel this is not how MedPeds is ran. To the other reviewers about long waits. I find that if you book first thing in the am or right after lunch your wait isn't that long. However I don't mind the wait when I'm going to have actual time to spend with my doctor. In addition Katherine the NP is great as well. read more

We love Dr.Duncan. And thats it. We've been coming to her for 7 years, and in those 7 years, front desk receptionist has always been consistent... consistently unfriendly and not welcoming. The nurses at the back are ok, could improve in the friendliness department. The wait time is always long. Prepare to alot 2-3 hrs for a check up, about an 40 mins to an hour waiting outside and another 30 mins waiting inside the room. read more

Dr. Rosenthal is so thorough, caring and thoughful. She is very knowledgeable and she takes her time and explains everything to you in detail. I love her. I was worried after Dr. Plunkett Reid left but no worries because my doctor is awesome. The receptionist is extremely curt and has a short fuse when you ask her to do something. She didn't seem to see the urgency and seemed annoyed when I called. I have a bad reaction and the pharmacist is looking to fill a prescription. The pharmacist said that they sent a message to the doctor's office but they had not responded. I called to request that they reach out to the medical staff to respond and the receptionist did not see why she had to do anything additional. I need the medication to be filled but the pharmacy will not fill it unless the doctor's office responds. She would not do anything additional to help or to notify the medical staff to see if they could assist. Management needs to improve receptionist services with better staff. read more

I've never really had any issues with Medpeds and I've been going here for quite a few years now. I switched when I was kid and my pediatrician joined. Then when she left the insurance didn't cover the change so I just stay at Med Peds. I've never really had any issues with the doctors at this practice or the receptionists. I usually scheduled early appt's and can avoid any afternoon craziness. I've had physicals, vaccinations and blood draws with no issues. I can't say I've really bonded with any of the staff here but on the other hand I'm glad I haven't had a reason too. I know every experience can be different but as my ratings shows I'm a fan. read more

I have been going to this practice for about 5-6 years. No matter when I go in, I always end up waiting 45 minutes to be seen. This AM I made an appointment for the first available time: 6:45 AM. I got there 5 minutes late. They took another patient who was early and I ended up waiting for 45 minutes to be seen. Reasonably good doctors but their phone system is a mess, if you return a call be prepared to repeat your information several times before you get cut off. I guess if you have lots of free time this would be a good practice to go to. I do wonder how they schedule patients, though. read more

Dr. Rosenstock is THE best doctor I've ever had. She takes the time to ask questions, she shows interest, she never makes me feel like she needs to hurry to her next patient. I keep coming to Medpeds because of her. I gave only 4 stars because the front desk staff are not the greatest. A lot more training needs to be given on customer service. Not saying you're welcome when I thank you but rather 'mm-hmmm' and then handing up on me without saying goodbye are two of the issue. Speaking in a monotone just tells me I'm boring you. Answering "Medpeds" without saying "how may I help you" or some other form of greeting is also not the best way to start a call. If you don't like your job, leave. There are many others who could do a better job who would love to work there. read more

I have been coming to this Dr office for a really long time and I love Dr. Jalali. She has known my family and I forever! I also really admire some of the other Dr's.....but the staff is very rude! The nurses treated me very poorly when I came in last and so did the receptionists. It seemed like even when I was asking questions they didn't want to have anything to do with me. However I noticed when certain people came in to speak to some of the receptionists, they were super nice. It's really strange! I only like the Dr's and not the staff. It kinda of ruins it, especially when you aren't feeling well and they are just plain rude! Not sure if I recommend this place to everyone but I am partial to the dr's since I've been coming for so many years. read more

Avoid this office if possible!! I had gotten into a recent car accident and called to make an appointment at Medpeds since I did not have a primary care physician. The office refused to see me even though I acquired neck injuries, and minor bodily injuries in the accident!! Here is why.... About six months ago, I missed my first appointment with medpeds, and the office said that because I missed my initial appointment I wouldn't be able to make another appointment with them, ever. I wasn't happy about that, but it was my fault I missed it, so I said all right, I understand. Since my mom and sister use this office I thought they would be slightly considerate and compassionate about my situation and let me be seen with my injuries. No. I was told by the front desk lady that the office manager said she would not excuse my missed appointment from six months ago!!! I could not believe it. I would not recommend an office that lacks such sympathy and compassion for their customers or potential customers. read more

This is where my son's pediatrician, Dr. Eaton,is. We've been going here for 8 years. Over the past couple years we have not been able to even make an appointment with his pediatrician because they are always overbooked. We are now leaving because we can't make an appointment at all to see anyone because they are overbooked with urgent care. The clerks at the desks and that answer the phones are extremely rude as well. We have complained about it multiple times but they can't get organized. So, if your child needs a doctor that will need to see them at random times due to illness or injury, you won't be able to make an appointment here to see their doctor. read more

Greetings, I, my two sons (8,18), my Momma and my sister (adult) have all gone to Medpeds. My mother absolutely loves Dr. Jalali and my sister and I are 100 in agreement that Dr. Rosenstock is one of the best. I read some of the reviews and will say that if you are not satisfied with your doctor, consider going to another one. It's as simple as making an appointment. You don't have to be loyal to any one doctor, it's about your health. The office staff are not "warm and fuzzy" but they are polite and helpful. The other staff do their jobs and I really have no complaints. If you don't like crowds, ask them what days/times are the least busy. Wishing you the best! read more

I agree with the other reviews, there is no since of compassion, understanding or customer service in this office. They constantly make mistakes, apologize and make you pay the price for it. They have rules and they stick to them. One rule is if you are more than one minute late for your appt. you have to reschedule. No 15 min grace period, no excuses. My first time bringing my daughters I was told an appt. time of 2:00pm. When I got there (at 1:42pm) They told me my appt was at 1:30pm and I was late so I had to reschedule. Before I left I tried to make sure all paperwork and ins. info was together for next time. The next week I got there and they said they couldn't see where the insurance had them listed as the primary care physician. They eventually understood that they were listed (1hr later) and that they couldn't see it before because they didn't have their paperwork setup right with the insurance company. After they got that straight, the office manager told me I still had to reschedule because the appt. time had passed! No understanding that I was in a wheelchair and had went to great difficulty to get her there, either time! On top of that the front staff was unfriendly, cynical and unaccommodating. read more

I have been going here for over a year now. My 1 yr old son and I have the same Dr, Dr Eaton and we love him. I have also seen the other doctors for urgent care issues and they have all been really nice and attentive. I don't feel rushed and I rarely have to wait for very long. I've always been able to get my doctor when I call for an appointment. I travel out of the way just to go here for care. These doctors were the ones that found my friend's parents cancers and they are alive today because of them. I would recommend this practice to my friends and family. read more

We've been seen by doctors at Medpeds since my son was 3 days old, in 2006. Dr. Rosenstock was so kind, caring and knowledgeable that I've never wanted to go any where else. My children absolutely love her. Dr. Jalali is great, and takes good care of my hubby. Nurse Practitioner Kathryn Penn is wonderful. She is thorough, super efficient, and really knows her stuff. I don't normally write reviews but I read them regularly for guidance to a certain extent. My family has been patients at MedPeds LLC for about 15 years. While some of the staff attitude portrayed in these reviews are things that we have experienced over the years, there are also some courteous staff and I still continue to go to MedPeds, since every office has its' issues. I am not saying that one should put up with poor customer service, because I don't. There are avenues to lodge complaints when you are not satisfied with a service, though time consuming. What I like about this office is, if a doctor is not to your satisfaction, you can choose another doctor and still stay at the same practice. Also the other medical services in the building makes it a plus and the convenience to my home. Currently, my family sees Dr. Karen Plunkett -Reid and I have to agree with Danielle H. posting of 7/21/2012. Patient education is very important to me and Dr. Plunkett- Reid takes the time to answer question and explain medication uses etc. Love her friendly, pleasant, confident, easy going spirit. My teenage daughter love her too. She also explains things to her like a mother would, which sometimes is needed, since it works as a reinforcement to what parents tell their children. I also have a son with special needs and she changed something he was taking for years, that has proved to be more beneficial. While every doctor might not be a good fit for every patient, I have grown to learn not to go off the deep end over every bad experience. I have seen good review for doctors I wouldn't necessarily give such a review for, but that was that person's experience and again it was a good fit for that person. read more

Go somewhere else and avoid this practice!!!! I am so disappointed with MedPeds. I started taking my son there in December 2011 when he was a newborn. To make my life easier, I also made them my primary care provider. Big mistake. I had good experiences with the medical personnel, but the office staff are lazy, rude, and uncaring. I called this week to get a referral to an opthamologist as I've had a problem with pink eye for almost two weeks at this point. I visited a doctor at a walk-in clinic two weeks ago, and the medicine helped up to a point. The policy at MedPeds is to only issue referrals after a wait of three to five days. I haven't asked for one in almost a year so I'm hardly taxing the office staff with unreasonable demands. They refused to give me the referral saying my insurance required me to make an appointment at their practice before a referral could be issued. I called my insurance company and discovered that was a lie. I called back and they said if I wanted a referral I had to come into their office to be seen for the pink eye. Their physicians are not qualified to diagnose what is wrong with me, and when you come in on short notice for a sick visit you can only see a nurse practitioner anyway, and they are even less qualified to diagnose an eye condition. I shouldn't have to pay a co-pay to get a referral, and the only basis for this "rule" of theirs is greed. I work for a living and shouldn't have to take time off work and pay a bribe to get a referral. I don't think much of a medical practice which delays my ability to get care so they can get even more money out of me. So . . . pick another practice. Seriously. I hope my experience keeps others from having bad experiences of their own. read more

I went to his practice for approximately 1 year and 3 weeks . I started seeing Dr Eden because Dr Joel OLLIE was gone invitan with me seeing Dr Eaton you started giving me some vitamin shots because I was tired one day I went in with the cyst on my face. Even told me it's because I'm fat and that I don't know portion control that something's wrong with me he needs to speak to my daughter she needs to speak to my pastor he needs to speak to someone about me. Saw he told me I need to go to church and pray for then he tells me I can't help you the only thing you're coming in this office for drugs I was only coming for him to get vitamin shots because I was tired and exhausted. I was not coming to him to get drug I am NOT a drug addict I felt so hurt because of his attitude toward me because of the cyst on my face. I might be big but he had no right to tell me and treat me like I was just discussed in his office because I am overweight.. This mentioned not being practiced it does not know how to treat people . If you go to this practice don't see Dr Eaton . Especially if you're overweight. This man wants to get and all your personal business to determine if you're really sick or not. I've been a patient here for almost five years. As the practice has grown the customer service has become nonexistent. The front desk staff has always been friendly and to the point, just how I prefer my medical office. Some of the doctors, however, are another story. Dr. Reema is my preferred physician and she's amazing. She's the sole reason for my star rating. Some of the others are a bit more abrasive and have a tendency to say things that question their common sense. I had a situation where I sought medical help and the doctor out of the blue asked me if I was scared. When I asked her why she even asked me the question, her response was "because I would be". What type of $h1t is that?!?! Overall I've never had too many problems.m but I also experienced one physician who refused to give me a referral for a specialist I needed to see based on symptoms and family history. The doctor did nothing to put my mind at ease or offer a solution to the symptoms I was experiencing. This is a great place for minor medical concerns, physical examinations, vaccines and pediatric care. For adults who may have more serious medical concerns or conditions, or those who want to spend time with a doctor who actually seems genuinely interested in your medical concerns, you may want to do your research first before selecting this practice. read more

I have been a patient of Angela Duncan for 2+ years now and have been incredibly pleased with my experience with this practice and with her. First, MedPeds is one of the premier primary care practices in the country, having received special recognition as a NCQA level 3 patient-centered medical home. They use electronic health records, they have an on-site lab, night and weekend hours, same-day appointments, and they have a patient web portal. The patient web portal is great - I can submit refill requests for my prescriptions, email questions to my doctor, see my lab results, submit appointment requests - all online. When I submit prescription refill requests or email my doctor with questions, I get an email or phone response in a day or less. They recently began offering telephonic visits for those that can't make it into the office in person. When I have needed an urgent visit, I have been able to get a same-day appt. My wait time in the waiting room is minimal - usually no more than 15 minutes and often only 5 minutes. They recently moved to a renovated suite which is beautiful and comfortable. Dr Duncan is great. She does a very thorough exam - from my head to my feet -literally. She has a great bedside manner. She patiently listens to all my questions and answers them to my satisfaction. Don't let these other reviews of one-time bad experiences turn you away from this practice. I promise you won't regret it! read more

Two stars is being nice. I been with them since 2009 but ever since they expanded they have gone down hill since. The front counter staff is very rude and the nurses and don't even mention the horrible time waiting for you to actually see your doctor. I spent about an hour waiting for my doctor to show up and when she finally did she spend no less than 5 minutes then left. When you call you ask questions or even go to the office to pick up prescriptions the staff is very rude and have ZERO costumer service!!! My experiences with MedPeds, over the course of a year, have been basically good (not perfect, but good). The bad: we (spouse and I) have found their office staff to be somewhat disorganized, and they seem to be crowded most of the time, even with their move to the new office. But we've never found them to be discourteous. The good: I've been seeing Dr. Plunkett Reid, and have been very pleased with her service & manner. I'm sorry we're moving away (to Virginia) because finding a doc you like can be an adventure. I also like their on-line access and record-keeping. I recently moved to the area and simply needed a place to get my prescription monthly. I guess that was just too much for them. A couple weeks ago I requested a script on a Monday morning, then followed up Tuesday morning to see when I would be able to come by and pick it up. I was told that I would receive a call by the end of the day. By 4:30 I had still not received a call so I called into the office. Their phone turns off at 4pm, so I had to go through the after hours line, which also had no answer, so I was forced to leave a message regarding my very necessary prescription. I received a phone call at 5:20 saying that it was ready and that I should come by before 6. So I left work a bit early, and arrived promptly at 5:45. When I arrived I was told that the script was not there and that no one called me.They made me come back early the next morning, and even then they were so disorganized that they still didn't have it, making me late for work. Monday of the next week I received another call saying that I would receive a call later that day. Of course I did not, and had to leave work early and physically go to the office in order to get my script. When I arrived it was still not ready, and was talked to the office administrator who instead of apologizing, rationalized their position, then told me "We are not a good fit for everybody" To which I responded, "I only needed a script monthly, if you cannot handle that, then what can you do?" I have never come across a doctor's office so poorly run and disorganized. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. read more
