I have been to Meijer's several times since moving to Ohio. It is not the usual grocery store I go…read moreto as it is located in Lima,OH and it's about 40 minutes from my home. I do come here on occasion, mostly because it sells items I cannot find in my local grocery stores in town like mojo, Cuban coffee, and other items necessary for me to make food from my culture. Meijer is kinda like Walmart, just nicer. It sells clothes, home decor, garden, pet food and items, and has a drug store. The supermarket is rather large and has a huge flower section. I enjoy shopping here, the only issue I have is with their pickup. It is handled by Shipt. The one time I tried it, they postponed the pickup 4 times! And the last time it was done last minute after I had already made the trip. Not everyone lives a short drive away. If I drove 40 minutes, I better have my items. Besides their pickup problems, it's a good grocery store and one I will return to.

Last thing I needed, was having to do another drive to get it. So i stopped by the Kroger in Saint Marys. Its not a bad supermarket, its a lot like other Krogers. The difference, their selection is more limited. It especially sucked that their deli did not carry Boar's Head meats, like the other Krogers I have been too. I never tried "Private Selection", but once you had the best (Boars Head), you don't go for the rest... Another thing is the prices seemed a little higher, for example on the flowers. I got some of the other things I needed and went on my way.

I have nothing but good things to say about the level of help I've received. Kaylee in Hardware has gone above and beyond, and Justin behind the service desk has been of great help. Most of the employees have been super helpful, whether I need to find something or get something loaded into my car. I also get my prescriptions from the Walmart Pharmacy. The people working behind that counter are knowledgeable, courteous, and pleasant - always. I might not be able to find every item I need, but with COVID that's pretty much the way it is everywhere. Kudos to the Wapakoneta Walmart for doing what they can, and providing a safe environment in which to shop.

Each Meijer in FTW has its own layout. I appreciate this one still having an in house Starbucks. I was in fairly early, but produce was stocked, along with the rest of the store. Even though the hours are diminished, the stocking has not been affected. The staff doesn't have much interaction, but I don't mind, especially at that time of the morning. The produce is fresh and really good looking. I prefer this stores layout.

What a pity because Walmart, Kroger, and others seem oblivious to the basic moral structure needed for a healthy economy which promotes a healthy society. I have since come here a few times to buy some essentials, milk, chocolate, some microwave dinners, soda, etc. Not much I can buy since I am living out of a hotel with no kitchen except a microwave. I have walked around a bit and noticed their food is much cheaper than it was in Miami... especially it's produce section. It also has a fairly large section for alcohol. I am used to only having an aisle for wine and one for beer in my old grocery store back in Miami. They also sell hard liquor here, which is a change that surprised me. I will know more about it as I buy more often from here, especially food/ingredients I can actually cook. Still it's my neighborhood grocery store and like I said, the people are very friendly.

Really mixed feelings in regards to this Walmart. The staff who work here are possibly the nicest,…read morefriendliest, most helpful Walmart employees I have ever dealt with. You ask them for help and they will actually stop what they are doing and direct you where you can find what you are looking for, if they don't know they ask someone or look it up. Very different than in other Walmart's I have been inside in Florida... where you are lucky to find an employee outside a register and they do not help you. Also when you live in an area where it gets really cold... you love the fact Walmart will actually bring your groceries to your vehicle. Nevertheless, I do notice that often when I come in here the store shelves are sparse. For example, I recently came last weekend into the Walmart because I needed to buy a litter box and litter for my cat. There were almost none left and the litter area was also starting to run out. I then tried looking for hard food for my cat, and her brand ,Science Diet, wasn't even sold. It's either that or I just couldn't find it on the shelf. If the shelves were full more often, I would definitely give this place a much higher rating.
