I have been to Meijer's several times since moving to Ohio. It is not the usual grocery store I go…read moreto as it is located in Lima,OH and it's about 40 minutes from my home. I do come here on occasion, mostly because it sells items I cannot find in my local grocery stores in town like mojo, Cuban coffee, and other items necessary for me to make food from my culture. Meijer is kinda like Walmart, just nicer. It sells clothes, home decor, garden, pet food and items, and has a drug store. The supermarket is rather large and has a huge flower section. I enjoy shopping here, the only issue I have is with their pickup. It is handled by Shipt. The one time I tried it, they postponed the pickup 4 times! And the last time it was done last minute after I had already made the trip. Not everyone lives a short drive away. If I drove 40 minutes, I better have my items. Besides their pickup problems, it's a good grocery store and one I will return to.

I'm in there daily and absolutely love their hot dogs. Here lately the fountain pop doesn't seem to have the right mixture so it has a weird taste.

Professional Complaint Letter Subject: Urgent Complaint…read moreRegarding Harassment and Verbal Abuse by Store Employee - Ruler Foods (Date: Jan 22, 2026) To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report a serious incident that occurred at your Ruler Foods location on January 22, 2026, at approximately 6:15 PM. I have been a long‑time customer, and I have never experienced anything as disrespectful, hostile, or unprofessional as what took place during this visit. I attempted to purchase a pack of pretzels that was displayed for $4.00, but it scanned at $6.99. I informed the clerk, Matt Munier, who went to check the price. He confirmed that the sign showed $4.00 but stated it was "in the wrong location" and refused to honor the displayed price. When I asked to speak to the manager, he claimed he was the manager and walked away. Another clerk, Helen Robinson‑Godsey, approached and asked if I needed assistance. As I explained the situation, Matt walked by and loudly stated that I "must have been drinking," which is completely false and inappropriate. Helen then called the Assistant Store Manager, Lydia Tenwalde, who corrected the issue and honored the displayed price. As I was leaving, Matt stepped away from his register and began yelling multiple derogatory names at me, including calling me several types of "bitches" in front of other customers. He then escalated the situation further by saying, "When I become manager, you Black bitch, you'll be the first one not allowed back in this store." This was racially charged harassment, verbal abuse, and a direct threat of discrimination. Other customers witnessed the incident and were visibly upset by his behavior. I requested that Assistant Manager Lydia contact the Store Manager, Chris, but he refused to come in. I am requesting the following: 1. A full investigation into the conduct of Matt Munier 2. Appropriate disciplinary action 3. Confirmation that customers will be protected from this type of harassment 4. Follow‑up communication regarding the outcome No customer should ever be subjected to this level of disrespect, hostility, or racial abuse in your store. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and addressed promptly. Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, Rita M. Totty Lima, Ohio Ritatotty12@gmail.com

The prices are high at times so you have to watch that when purchasing from there. The staff is usually always super friendly and very helpful. The store itself could use a good update as it's sort of drab-looking and outdated. The variety of things they offer is decent. If you are in the middle of cooking something and need a simple ingredient, it's great to run there quick and grab what you need. Now for regular stocking up grocery shopping, I do not do that shopping there. Prices are a little too high to do that. Fresh meat selection there is good and sometimes they do offer really good deals on certain items.

So I buy a new one anyways because I need it. Come back in next day show them where it says one year warranty, with receipt and everything tell them about the night before. I love having a place like this so close to where I live. They have a great selection of candy,…read moresauces, spices, cheese, deli meat, cookies, and so on. Most of the people who work there are some of the nicest people I've met. I usually stop in to grab the cheese pizza pretzels, the cereal marshmallows, and something from the chocolate aisle. My friend who usually goes with me loves their hot cheese cups and the sauces they have to offer. The dip mixes are great too and the baked goods on the rack towards the back are tasty! Sometimes the prices are a little higher on some things but it's a very clean store and just fun to visit.

I had been wanting to go to Old Thyme Pantry since i moved to the area and i finally got my chance…read moreover a month ago. I love trying new foods and going to mom and pops as much as i can. I will tell you that one of the most impressive things about Old Thyme Pantry is that it has an extensive candy section... two aisles worth. Moreover, the candy isn't the factory made stuff... that said the candy can be a little hit or miss. My mother did not like the sugar wafers for instance and i disliked the sea salt fudge. Yet at the same time, the orange slices were very good and the chocolate covered raisins were to die for (def better than Raisinettes!). The store also sells soup mixes, local honey, jams, jelly's and fresh meat. They also have a Deli. I bought some Deli items and again hit or miss... some of the items i didn't like but their was this chicken one that was delish. Cool store, one that looks to be owned by mennonite/amish? Definitely would be willing to give it a second try in the future... and one you should try as well.
