We couldn't serve a single piece for fear of someone getting injured ! We called to let the bakery know what had happened, but we were transferred to a supervisor named Tommy, who got angry with us and began to cuss at us. Needless to say, we will NEVER, EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM MEIJER AGAIN!. I am just thankful that we found the sharp plastic pieces before any one swallowed them. My Steaks that I paid for ended up in the next person's cart. Store refuses to make it right. I drove 30 - 40 minutes to get there to help out small a business and this is how I get treated. Also they don't always charge you what price is marked. Very shady business practices.

But most of the action is in the second part (back)of the store. The Deli is amazing and they expanded it not long ago to accommodate the clientele. The staff is very personable and helpful. The rest of the discount food is wonderful as well. They post specials on Facebook and also recently the update about the road closure availability. They posted 2 ways to still get to their store and also put up signs along the road. Will continue to but good quality food from here! Also they do have more than just food.

The store itself could use a good update as it's sort of drab-looking and outdated. The variety of things they offer is decent. If you are in the middle of cooking something and need a simple ingredient, it's great to run there quick and grab what you need. Now for regular stocking up grocery shopping, I do not do that shopping there. Prices are a little too high to do that. Fresh meat selection there is good and sometimes they do offer really good deals on certain items.

I love having a place like this so close to where I live. They have a great selection of candy,…read moresauces, spices, cheese, deli meat, cookies, and so on. Most of the people who work there are some of the nicest people I've met. I usually stop in to grab the cheese pizza pretzels, the cereal marshmallows, and something from the chocolate aisle. My friend who usually goes with me loves their hot cheese cups and the sauces they have to offer. The dip mixes are great too and the baked goods on the rack towards the back are tasty! Sometimes the prices are a little higher on some things but it's a very clean store and just fun to visit.

I will tell you that one of the most impressive things about Old Thyme Pantry is that it has an extensive candy section... two aisles worth. Moreover, the candy isn't the factory made stuff... that said the candy can be a little hit or miss. My mother did not like the sugar wafers for instance and i disliked the sea salt fudge. Yet at the same time, the orange slices were very good and the chocolate covered raisins were to die for (def better than Raisinettes!). The store also sells soup mixes, local honey, jams, jelly's and fresh meat. They also have a Deli. I bought some Deli items and again hit or miss... some of the items i didn't like but their was this chicken one that was delish. Cool store, one that looks to be owned by mennonite/amish? Definitely would be willing to give it a second try in the future... and one you should try as well.
