We made reservations and went last night. I often find the precursor to a restaurant experience is how you are greeted (or not greeted) when you walk in the front door. They provided an extravagant, warm welcome. We were seated and our server, Logan, was at our table promptly. He explained their drink menu. They do not serve beer, gin, or vodka, but do serve wine and a VAST number of whiskeys. Their specialty drinks are all made with whiskey of some sort. Loan explained all of this and we each ordered one of their speciality drinks that were well made. The menu is large enough to fufill most tastes but small enough to excel and they did excel. Every morsel of food was excellent and our service was, in a word, perfect. Even when leaving we were asked how our meal was and our departure was just as delightful as our welcome. It's a good place to get food with a bit of a Southern edge, plus a good wine list (hence the name) and cocktails. And our meal was good. Everyone found something for them on the menu, even the kids. I got the House Pappardelle Pasta, made with wild boar ragout, confit red pearl onions, roasted garlic whipped ricotta and shaved parmesan. I got a glass of wine too. I'm also a fan of their Louisville-themed wine flights, though it would be fun to see these updated. Our server was pleasant, and we were able to easily book a reservation on their site. LouVino is a good option for a dinner party.
