I underwent physical therapy for my shoulder pain at this location. Excellent team and atmosphere. Today I saw Dr Christopher Combs for the review of my MRI. He was a friendly professional. He thoroughly explained my test results, He listened to all of my concerns and answered all of my questions. He never rushed the appointment, or made me feel like I was "caught up in an assembly line practice" which can sometimes occur with overbooking. Ultimately, he treated me with injections which demonstrated his skill level, as I barely even felt them in either shoulder. Thank you Dr. Combs for helping to make feel better!! Customer service is dead. I've been trying to talk to my Dr or his nurse for 4 weeks. I've called 9 times, left 8 messages, spoke to an assistant once and appeared in the office to leave another message and I've yet to have any return calls. read more

For over a year I was in pain and I was told it was sciatica, which I do have but the major problem was my hip, it had deteriorated so much that my right leg was 2 inches longer than my right leg and I went to Drs, urgent care and even emergency, but no one could figure out what my problem was! I decided to find my own surgeon and that's when Dr. Combs took correct X-ray's and found that my hip needed replacing. He did a fantastic job and corrected the leg length and I am now in physical therapy and so thankful for this fabulous surgeon!! I feel like he saved me, I was beginning to feel extremely depressed until I met him! I am no longer in pain!!! read more

I had my post-op appointment one and a half weeks after my surgery to have a pin put into my left pinky to correct a swan neck deformity caused by repeated injuries/trauma to my finger(sprains from playing basketball and martial arts training in my younger days) that first limited the flexibility of that finger and eventual led to locking of the finger in a position that looks something like the neck of a swan. A titanium pin was inserted into the finger to straighten it out into a more functional position even though full mobility of the finger will never again be possible. Traffic due to construction on the off-ramp caused me to arrive a few minutes late but the young lady at the front desk didn't make an issue out of this. I waited about 10 minutes before I was called to the back to go over some relevant information, remove bandages and stitches, take my blood pressure, and take a few more x-rays. Dr. Ahn came to my rose after about 10 more minutes. He reviewed my x-rays and explained what steps I would need to follow in the upcoming weeks. Dr Ahn has proved to be an excellent doctor and is so much more professional and personable than Dr. Kim. and Dr. Slutzky in Torrance that Optum used to send me to. I was unwilling to have any surgery done by Twiddle Dee or Twiddle Dum because of their rude behavior and horrible office staff. My experience with Dr. Ahn and his staff at this location and the other office on Downey Ave has been like night and day compared to the bozos at Orthopedic Specialty Associates on Torrance Blvd. I highly recommend Dr. Ahn to anyone who is looking for a skilled AND compassionate medical professional. read more

This review is for physical therapy only. The staff and physicians & PAs are top-notch. Avoid at all costs the PT here. They do not know what they are doing. Two years now after knee surgery, my knee still hurts because of the bad physical therapy I was given. A week and a half post knee surgery, the head Physical therapist at this clinic gave me a PT exercise that was "too advanced" for the stage I was at, according to the physician. My knee still hurts a lot both when I walk and when I am sitting or lying down. When I first did the exercise that the head PT gave me, I felt something move in my knee and screamed because it hurt so much. I went from little pain and using only one crutch after 1 1/2 weeks post-op to using a walker again for a month. The knee has never been right after that. It moves around. And after almost 2 years it still hurts a lot For the 2nd knee surgery I tried him one more time for 3 or so visits because I could not yet get into the PT I wanted. The same head PT said he was stretching my IT band - again I had excruciating pain - and his PT work made it hurt to walk. The PT I subsequently went to did an hour-long assessment to discover what the issue was & found that the head PT at the above clinic had been trying to stretch my sciatic nerve, not my IT band. Nerves don't stretch. So I had to first deal with fixing the sciatica & then work on the knee. Which is a bit better now, thanks to the new PT clinic. The head PT seems to enjoy giving people pain and his helpers often just sit across the room on their tablets while we patients wait for them to return to help us with the next exercise. A few times I just continued with the next exercise myself because I had memorized it. But I was not sure if I was doing it exactly right. And all patients get the same routine - there is no individual treatment. DO NOT go here for PT. But do go for surgery read more

Very poor customer service. The doctor looked through my MRI on a Thursday and promised that his staff would reach out on Monday to schedule surgery. This did not happen, so after 2 weeks I reached out and left several messages. Since I was getting no response I asked Memorial Care to provide me with a different provider. Once that happened, I guess this place finally decided to call and leave a voicemail. The woman who called insisted that she had tried to reach me several times, but my cell phone did not list her number as a past missed call and there had been no messages left for me. So I am moving forward with my medical care with another orthopedic office. I figure if this office can't even communicate effectively about scheduling, do I want them operating on me knee? The answer is no. read more

The Physical Therapists here are top notched. They are very knowledgeable and have helped my hip pain get resolved. The care has been very personalized and thorough. They take whatever time you need to help get the exercises right. I highly recommend them for anyone who needs help getting over pain. read more

I looked at my records and saw that I paid an amount on the day of my appointment and called the office. 2 hours later I receive a call and was told they owe me a refund. I had a good experience here. The staff on the phone during my initial inquiry were efficient and communicative. The process to verify the location was in network with my PPO took about a day. I got an appointment within a week or two. Check-in that day was easy, the staff were helpful, and Dr. Ahn was informative and great to work with. My one note is the front desk staff member looked really not happy to be there. Like, didn't acknowledge me with a hello or anything and seemed actively irritable. I get that can happen to anyone, but maybe some feedback to consider. I will also say the person scheduling my surgery was very helpful and I appreciated her efforts. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Richard Ahn. He is a very professional doctor, and he took time to answer my questions even though it seems that he and the other doctors here are very busy. I had to have an open reduction internal fixation of a fractured metacarpal shaft in my dominant hand. The staff was able to walk me through the motions of bloodwork and scheduling the surgery at a nearby hospital. This was my first surgery so I was grateful they were there to guide me. I thought the staff was professional and very well-organized. They have a specific person who handles paperwork related to your injury, including disability and workman's comp cases. They charge $25 per form (which I felt was a little pricey, honestly, but I needed the paperwork done for work... what are you gonna do?), just keep that in mind before you go. I have come here a total of 3 times so far and every time I was able to find parking right out in front of the building. Come early to give yourself time to find a spot and you're good. Overall, I would come back here and recommend this place to others. read more

My mother was referred to dr wassef by her primary doctor to be seen as soon as possible. She was given an appointment same day. The team was very professional , caring and took very good care of my mother while she was at the office. Her surgery went very well and considering her age her recovery was excellent and within the expected time. I broke my forearm and after waiting and dealing with my insurance and primary care physician I was able to come here and see Dr. Combs. This office was great; they realized my surgery was needed as soon as possible, they got me in for an appointment right away and scheduled my surgery the following Monday. Dr. Combs explained everything thoroughly and efficiently about the surgery and I felt really confident going in. Everything was coordinated through the medical center and getting my blood work done, he even wrote prescriptions for me that I needed that my primary care physician didn't get to. The office staff also helped me file for disability since I'll be out of work for a couple months, they did that very swiftly. The surgery went well and I am recovering. I was at this clinic today after waiting almost 2 weeks for an appt. The PA ordered an MRI and said he'd prescribe some pain med. An hour later I check my pharmacy and was told they didn't have the Rx yet. I called this clinic and talked to the nurse. She said it would take maybe until end of the day for them to send Rx to my pharmacy. I told her I'm in pain. It sounded like there's nothing she can do. So I waited until end of the day--I called pharmacy and they still didn't have the Rx! Now this clinic is closed and I'm at urgent care trying to find relief for my pain. Im changing doctors. Absolutely terrible service. My appointment was at 1:45 and around 2:30 I here the receptionist saying to assistant "she was here first" and then both of them walked away laughing and joking about how she's going to lose her $5 raise because she made a mistake and put my folder in the wrong area and so they accidentally took the wrong patient first. Then after ANOTHER hour of waiting the doctor meets with me for about 10 min just to tell me I need to go downstairs for me new X-rays and that the nurse was going to give me my referral ram and instructions. I waited I in the room for 15 min until i walked out of the room and pretended I didnt know what I was supposed to do. The nurse then asked my name and then proceeded to tell me she thought I had left. So here I am over 2 hours later waiting to see the doctor read more

I broke my arm in Nov 2022 and was fortunate enough to find Dr. Combs. He was able to prevent me from having surgery and instead recommended that I wear a brace to keep my broken humerus bone in place so that it could heal. Fortunately for me, it worked, and I did not require surgery. I had to wear a brace and sling because my forearm was also affected by the broken arm. In mid-January, I began physical therapy with Mina. While the beginning stages of physical therapy was painful and at times excruciating, I made progress after each visit. I literally started physical therapy feeling broken, depressed and with low confidence. However, once I started regaining mobility and strength and the ability to do small things on my own, my confidence began to improve. Mina gives his patients nothing but the best care. He listens when concerns are shared, and he is very committed to helping his patience recover. I can't thank Mina enough for his encouragement and patience during my sessions. Thank you to the miracle PT. I am still in recovery, but I am in a better place than when I first began. I would also like to mention that the office personnel are professional, courteous, and friendly. They are always warm and welcoming at each visit. Thanks Elena, Nancy and Erica. You rock! The front office staff & telephone receptionists are very unfriendly at this place. My daughter's first time appt. was cancelled the day prior (unfortunately I did not receive the message on my home phone) so we showed up. The appt was cancelled because there was an urgent meeting. Granted, this was not the office staffs fault, but, their attitudes stink. Not one single apology. Their first time appts. are limited. Mondays and Wednesdays ONLY. Strange. I hesitantly re-scheduled the appt. I then asked for a note so she would be excused and they said they could not do that because she was not seen. I said "here she is, you see her". Reluctantly they gave me a note that said she was NOT seen by the doctor. We left the office and I called an hour later and cancelled the appt. with yet another rude receptionist. I'll be going somewhere else. People like this should not be the first face/person you see and/or talk to. Good Luck! read more

I was referred to this office for physical therapy. On my first visit I arrived 10-15 minutes early in case there was paperwork. I was the ONLY person in the waiting room. There were two receptionists sitting behind a long counter, and another sitting behind a short counter across the room. The two behind the long counter didn't look up or even acknowledge my presence. I walked over to the third one, she did acknowledge me but pointed to one of the other ones and said I needed to check in with her. I walked back over and she put a clipboard on the counter and said nothing. I "signed in", again, being the only person in the waiting room. 35 minutes later she acknowledged me, she was surprised that I hadn't been there before and gave me paperwork to fill out. I did ask the receptionist why she couldn't have given me the paperwork when I signed in. Her response, in a very snotty tone was "I'm doing the best I can." As I was filling out the paperwork and they called me to be seen. The Physical Therapist and his assistant were wonderful! If I could give both of them 5 stars I would! My second visit was a week later. I had written down that my appointment was 11:00, I arrived at the building at 10:55 and there was no parking. I waited until a car pulled out and once parked I arrived in the office at 11:08 and the waiting room was almost full. The same receptionist, in a very rude tone, said "you're late, your appointment was at 10:45." She then made another comment that I didn't even hear because her tone was so rude. Again, in the same rude, snotty tone, she said "I'll let you see them." I couldn't believe the comment, or the tone, she'd "LET" me see them. I reminded her that the week before she made me wait over 45 minutes. She again said, "I was doing the best I could, my scanner was broken." Office staff are very unhelpful. I was transferred all around and put on hold for long periods of time. When I called back, I was not put on hold but transferred again. It took forever to get an appointment. Then, the afternoon before my appointment, they called to cancel and we're not accommodating at all to get me a new appointment.
