We got a pretty good deal at the Commodore for one night's accommodation. Located on the sea front, it is the traditional, ex-grand seaside hotel. It's large and clearly used to be very nice indeed, but has become a bit shabby.
Good location though (not sure there are many bad locations in Cobh), staff were friendly and the room was really big. Shower wasn't great and facilities a bit dated, but it certainly did the trick- and I do like a lot of space, so that was fine by me.
Parking is available for free- you need to put down a deposit on the fob. The carpark is round the corner and quite small (more of a scrapyard than a carpark) so could get difficult if there are a lot of visitors trying to use it.
We didn't eat at the hotel, choosing to go to one of the local cafes instead. If you get a good deal, it serves its purpose well. read more
