Gay bar?? Ok it is an establishment that caters to the gay community. It's a Resturaunt right across the street from the Coliseum! And bar, in Rome (for us Americans) is the equivalent of a sidewalk cafe or small Resturaunt in the U.S. the menu was very contemporary and was about 30 pages long. We were so happy with our food that some other patrons started a conversation and before you knew it we had been talking for an hour or so. The waitstaff was attentive and very polite. While it isn't exactly a club or a gay bar you would find in the states, it is definitely where the gays of rome come to socialize!!! All of the restaurants around it open up to the outside and it almost forms a little square where you can socialize outside, have drinks, and sit at tables all while gazing at the coliseum. We had dinner here and loved the food. The adult beverages are good. I had the Blue Hawaiian Colada and Amaretto Colada. Both tall and I thought well priced. I had the beef and mushrooms and it was really good. The potatoes where really good as well. My partner had the spaghetti bolognese and loved it. Also the staff where very friendly! We also stayed above the restaurant at 2nd floor and got a discount for staying at the hotel. They do check your room key. So only hotel guests get the discount. read more

First and foremost, this place is such a delight! We chose to go here for breakfast (not only because we are members of the LGBTQIA+ community but also because our tour was at the Colosseum at 11 and it is literally across the street). Our server's name was Stevie (Steven T.) He was such an absolute sweetheart. Since we only speak English, he was quick to assist us and recommend great things from the menu. I highly recommend the Classic or Specialty breakfast. Both were delicious and came with a cappuccino. We enjoyed him so much, we chose to come back to the restaurant for lunch after our tour just so we could spend some more time in such a relaxing and welcoming environment. This place was meh. Came for Halloween so it was pretty crowded... bartenders were kinda rude and full of themselves. One of them gave us the side eye while we were trying to order. Music was good, and a bunch of people were outside and hanging out in front on the street. Drinks were mostly juice--paid 6€ for maybe a sliver of vodka and mostly juice and ice cubes. The vibes were super bougie & metropolitan. Via San Giovanni is the gay street of Rome so there were a bunch of other cool places around there. This place felt exclusive and it felt like they knew they were the shit & the "it" bar. read more

Little gay bar on gay street. It gets busy in their outdoor patio after about 11pm. The drinks are mid range. The staff is friendly but not really on top of things. The mixed drinks aren't that great. Location is great right next to the colosseum. All age ranges and a good mix of straight and gay clientele. read more

Less of a gay bar and more of a gay restaurant. Staff was friendly and attentive and English-friendly. The pomodoro pasta and the steak were both fantastic, as was the Bacardi cocktail, but what really made the place was the atmosphere. Definitely can't go wrong here. Yet despite whoever you take home that night, the staff at Coming Out still remembers who you are the morning after!
