Okay, so I really like Beige, but it isn't really a Gay Bar. The only thing Gay Bar about it is…read morethe rainbow Absolut bottle behind the bar on the shelf. Otherwise this is a nice higher-end bar to enjoy a cocktail. When you enter, there is a very nice bar area with some white leather (or leather-like) seating. The Italian drinks are fun - we had the Negroni and the Aperol Spritz. Both were perfectly made and great! The place isn't too loud, so you can chill and hang out for awhile. On both nights there was some sort of catered event, so you had to hang out in the front. That was okay, as at least as the space is pretty comfortable. So...if you are looking for a nice place for a cocktail, go to Beige. But if you are expecting a Gay Bar, not so much! That's okay though, we enjoyed the place anyway.

The place recently changed ownership and now it's a "queer" bar. Which is great because Rome…read moredefinitely needs more queer friendly places. The place has a nice set up, it's clean. THE BATHROOMS ARE CLEAN!!! It's a pretty friendly place and it wasn't expensive. For a night out, sure I'll go again but just don't expect anything but the basics from the bartenders. Don't you have to go to school for bar tending?? Don't they teach you how to at least make an aviation??? No, not any of the three guys behind the bar knew what that was. WHAT?! Negative two stars for a bar not knowing how to bar tend. I could have gone back there and done it myself.

Once our drinks were set down, we were abruptly told to pay immediately. The server placed the receipt on the table and said, "Pay now, please." Meanwhile, customers sitting beside us were served drinks, and even food, without any such demand. When we questioned this difference in treatment, management claimed it was their normal policy. That statement was contradicted by what we observed in real time and by conversations with other patrons, who admitted that they had not yet received their check. Being singled out like that is uncomfortable anywhere, but especially in a space that claims to value equality and belonging. I'm sharing this so others are aware and so management understands how actions like this affect people, regardless of intent.

Discriminatory Treatment Disguised as "Policy"…read more My friends and I visited this LGBTQ bar in Rome expecting an inclusive and welcoming environment. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. After ordering three drinks, once they were placed in front of us, the server immediately put down the receipt and said, "Pay now, please," in a rude and abrupt manner. This stood out because customers seated directly next to us -- and others around the bar -- were served drinks and food without being asked to pay immediately. When we raised the issue with management, we were told this was their "standard procedure." That explanation does not hold up. We spoke with other patrons who confirmed they were not required to pay upon delivery, and we personally witnessed multiple groups being served without the same demand. This was not a misunderstanding or a one-off mistake. It was clear, unequal treatment, and it made us feel singled out and unwelcome in a space that claims to stand for inclusion. An LGBTQ establishment should be especially mindful of how bias -- whether conscious or not -- shows up in customer interactions. Inclusion isn't a label; it's behavior. I hope management reflects seriously on this incident and addresses how guests are treated, because no one should feel profiled or disrespected while simply trying to enjoy a night out.

I ordered a margherita pizza and pasta bolognese...I was surprised to see the pizza came out without any basil...I'd been in Italy for a couple weeks at that point and eaten many margherita pizzas- they need basil. I asked that basil be added to my pizza but I personally did not enjoy the overall flavor, which was disappointing. The pasta bolognese was hearty but also not my favorite in terms of flavor. The sweet server noticed and brought over some parmesan which did help a lot. My favorite thing about my experience here was that I was seated outside and had a decent view of the colosseum. Although, I was also being haggled quite a bit to buy things from random street salesmen as I sat and ate my meal. I actually bought a portable phone charger which came in handy. Overall, my bar is more of a place for chilling with drinks but I wouldn't recommend the margherita pizza or pasta bolognese.

Service was fine (we just had a drink each) to get off our feet and rehydrate. Great views and prices felt appropriate for the ability so sit an enjoy a great view while people watching. I would not make this a must stop for a meal or drink but if you are nearby and want a snack and a break this is as good a place as any.
