It is a small, but very fun Gay bar. There was a drag show on the night we went. The drag queen got everyone involved and it was a great time. You will have fun, even if you don't speak Italian. They switched back-and-forth between English and Italian to make everyone feel included. read more

Coming Out - Drag show - Gay Bars Near Me - Rome, RM

A great time to be had at the gay bar we stumbled upon while walking around Rome. We met fellow Wisconsinites that we can't wait to see back stateside. There happened to be a drag show the day we went, and Grace was amazing! So friendly and a great performer. The only problem we came across was the space was small, so not a lot of room for Grace to perform, but everyone was able to be so engaged. Loved everyone we met here :) read more

The food and service here was excellent. I highly recommend Coming Out. We'll definitely be coming back when in Rome.

Good food, really enjoyed the lasagna. Price wasn't bad considering it's right across the colosseum. Our waiter wasn't the friendliest (he seemed to have an attitude) but all the other staff were very kind. Really cute interior decor. read more

This place caught our eyes with its fun atmosphere, a solid menu, a witty cocktail menu, and a great view of the colosseum. We ordered a double aperol spritz, the gnocchi al pesto, the clasico and rustic burgers, and the suppli. The gnocchi was amazing, lots of flavor to the pesto and the texture was fresh. The burgers were so juicy and seasoned very well. The cocktails were tasty and refreshing, and received great service. We enjoyed our dinner very much and would go back again. read more

This bar markets itself as an inclusive LGBTQ space, but our experience did not reflect that. My friends and I, all Black men, were visiting Rome to explore this historic city. Once our drinks were set down, we were abruptly told to pay immediately. The server placed the receipt on the table and said, "Pay now, please." Meanwhile, customers sitting beside us were served drinks, and even food, without any such demand. When we questioned this difference in treatment, management claimed it was their normal policy. That statement was contradicted by what we observed in real time and by conversations with other patrons, who admitted that they had not yet received their check. Being singled out like that is uncomfortable anywhere, but especially in a space that claims to value equality and belonging. I'm sharing this so others are aware and so management understands how actions like this affect people, regardless of intent. read more

Discriminatory Treatment Disguised as "Policy" My friends and I visited this LGBTQ bar in Rome expecting an inclusive and welcoming environment. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. After ordering three drinks, once they were placed in front of us, the server immediately put down the receipt and said, "Pay now, please," in a rude and abrupt manner. This stood out because customers seated directly next to us -- and others around the bar -- were served drinks and food without being asked to pay immediately. When we raised the issue with management, we were told this was their "standard procedure." That explanation does not hold up. We spoke with other patrons who confirmed they were not required to pay upon delivery, and we personally witnessed multiple groups being served without the same demand. This was not a misunderstanding or a one-off mistake. It was clear, unequal treatment, and it made us feel singled out and unwelcome in a space that claims to stand for inclusion. An LGBTQ establishment should be especially mindful of how bias -- whether conscious or not -- shows up in customer interactions. Inclusion isn't a label; it's behavior. I hope management reflects seriously on this incident and addresses how guests are treated, because no one should feel profiled or disrespected while simply trying to enjoy a night out. read more

We had a great time at Coming Out! The drinks were delish and our service was quick. We were really excited to hear that a a drag experience was happening on a Monday evening at 10:30pm. We weren't able to attend however. But if you are looking for a drag experience, then Coming Out is a great option. The environment is clean, fun, and feels great! I'd definitely go back. read more

I came out to Coming Out and should have Stayed In for brunch. Pros: The Savory Breakfast was delicious especially the potatoes. Location was awesome - right next to the Coliseum. Cons: The service was spotty. We had to remind them to clean table and took forever to get drinks. The Colocious Pancakes were super dry and cold. I was super disappointed because it's been awhile since I've had pancakes. My reco is go for the drinks and atmosphere and skip brunch read more

You may think it's a gimmick, but it's not. We love to support inclusive neighborhoods and establishments and this bar isn't just Instagram-worthy, it's legit amazing food, drinks, and service. The view doesn't suck either! Yes, we came to the Colliseum for blow job shots and pizza; but we left with an amazing experience that featured the best tiramisu we've had in Italy. The Carbonara was magical. The pizza was crisp, cheesy and delicious. And the spritz - it makes the meal. read more

This is a gay (male) bar located right next to the Colloseum, but they are welcoming to all people! You can get a photo of yourself in front of the bar with the Colloseum in the background. Super cool! The drink I ordered was strong, and the bar tenders were really nice men. I highly recommend! read more

Bad vibes. Server was terrible and condescending. After 14 days across Italy we were so excited to finally sit at a queer bar. He scared us out of that bar after one drink. I would never let one of my servers act like that in my bar (12 years, Hells Kitchen NYC, director of operations). Saturday September 20. 3-4pm read more

LGBTQIA+ friendly restaurant. And right in front of the colosseum. So you know it's gonna be pricey. But it makes sense with the location. Food is ok good. Pasta is finally salty after the past couple days of bland pasta. I understand it's Mediterranean healthy style but personally I just need stronger flavor. This meets my needs. 4/5! Pizza not so much. Still not so used to the cut for yourself standard here. Messier than it normally is. The flavor is not very strong. Texture's great though. 3/5. Wine's quite pricey and tiny portion. But this view worth so much. Staffs' super friendly. An easy choice if you're going to the colosseum. read more

Fun, welcoming, and reasonably priced joint just steps from the Colosseo along Roma's "gay street". While the street is only 300 meters long, Coming Out is hard to miss. The decor pays homage to equal rights for the LGBTQ community around the word with special attention paid to the advancement of equal rights in Rome and Italy, and there are fun horoscopes on the wall. The crowd is international and diverse, and the staff speak English relatively well. The food was reasonable priced, and while not pictured, my companion really enjoyed his spaghetti bolognese. read more

In my search for some LGBT friendly restaurants and bar, this one kept coming up on the top of the list. My mom and I were having a difficult time looking for a place to have dinner and decided to give this place a try. I absolutely love the creative drink names, it made the experience more fun. The food options were also plentiful and I ended up order my favorite dish, the carbonara. I have to say, the food was fantastic and definitely would recommend giving this place a try. I'm looking forward to coming back sometime soon and maybe staying for the evening shows they host. read more

Five starts for the location and view as the outdoor area offers a great view of the Colosseum, especially at sunset. It is quite crowded given the location so plan accordingly. Outdoor service is for food and drink as they turned many away who just wanted to sit outside and grab a drink. Servers were a bit preoccupied and had to be asked multiple times for refills, etc. I ended up ordering the Pizza diavola, and it was average at best with a very cardboardy crust. I was used to pizza done the Italian way at other places I had tried around Rome, so was disappointed in what I got. read more

Oboy! Good spot in a very popular location a block away from the coliseum. We ordered the vegetable pizza with egg plant, mushrooms and fresh cheese and we had no complaints. It was baked to perfection and the size was huge. We also ordered a salad and it was fresh with tomato's, greens and cheese. The service was nice and quick and the place was packed during lunch. Great location in Rome! read more

The food was decent, however the servers were rude. They all had this weird attitude as if they were doing you a favor by serving you. One of the servers asked me to say "please" after we placed the order. LOL. The weird behavior of the server was possibly because we were a family and tourists, but I am not sure. Not recommended for families or tourists. Their are many other good restaurants in the area with good service. read more

Overpriced and the drinks were subpar. This place definitely draws in gay men but not many lesbian women.

Stopped in for lunch after a tour of the Colosseum . Had a blowjob! And a great lunch Highly recommend for a drink and/or some food if you find yourself at the Colosseo. Super fun staff and good food! Had a chicken salad and it was perfect! Especially after eating nothing but pasta for the 4 days prior! Seriously. Fun place and good food! read more

The caffee "milkshake" was served chilled in a martini glass with coffee beans and a sweet foam. The servers were wonderful and welcoming. It was our servers first day and she was super sweet! Came here during the day. I don't know how rowdy it gets towards the evening and night, but Coming Out seems to be a full functioning restaurant during the day, boasting a complete menu. My experience was focused on the coffee. The cappuccino tasted fine but had a weak foam. But so what? I don't feel like Coming Out claimed to earn their laurels from their coffee. When I come to Rome again, I still intend to stop by and support a business that unabashedly supports their community. Side notes: -based on their slideshow, it looks like they have a lot of fun with their halloween celebrations (this is more of a mental note for myself) -Coming Out (at least during the day) IS family friendly. I saw many families enjoying the restaurant. -They DO have wifi read more

Other than the dubious pleasure of supporting a business that is theoretically run by and for queer people, there's no reason to stop here if your objective is food. As many have said, the service is lousy -- or better said -- some of the employees are lovely, and some of the employees are walking around with so much attitude you'd think they were on a shoot for Wilhelmina Models rather than waiting tables in a fairly crummy burger-and-pasta joint. I had the worst Spritz I've so far encountered in Rome, and my hamburger, while tasty, was so raw in the middle that the meat was literally cold. I can't believe that meets health and safety standards. They can't make you an espresso after lunch (in an Italian restaurant????), and, after ignoring you, for most of your meal, the servers still can't be bothered to bring you your check - you have to walk to the cashier yourself and ask for it. I never got to meet the Simona that so many people rave about, but I'm still inclined to think that Simona ought to be giving more of her attention to training employees and improving the food. It's irksome to be drawn into patronizing a place because it's queer-friendly, only to find out that that's mostly a gimmick and that Coming Out is no different than all the other touristy, over-priced restaurants on the Colosseum strip. read more

Can't even give it one star. I was APPALLED at how the server and guy behind the counter treated me, my husband and son when we were there on Sunday September 19, 2021. I asked for a cappuccino and asked if they had a croissant or 'pane tostado' and the server answered with a flat out "No" even though we had seen them serving some type of bread to the table of women next to us. He offered no other options he just pointed and rudely pushed the tabletop menu toward me so I just ordered the cappuccinos which btw were served to us almost COLD. Eventually my husband had to walk inside (we were seated outside) to pay the bill since the server never came back. When waiting to pay my husband's mask broke - both the server and the guy behind the counter looked at each other and LAUGHED then sarcastically asked if he needed a new one. If anything was the most negative side of our visit to Rome was this experience. They were so hateful and unpleasant it turns my stomach to think about it. I know was a gay bar and so what? We did not have a problem with them but yet they apparently had a problem with us... I hope the owner reads this and corrects the behavior of the staff and how to treat customers regardless of sexual orientation. I will be sure to blast this business with this review on every social media site FB, Instagram, Twitter as well as word of mouth. We travel a lot and so do our friends and family. Hope this helps those who may may consider patronizing this business - PLEASE DON'T. They are non-deserving of any success or respect as they give none. Teresita S. read more

Stopped just to grab some coffee and something to eat before we went to the coloseum. Being obvious American when we ordered the waiter was rather cold. Asking for just some simple like toast or bread (asked in Italian- pane tostado) he advised they didn't have bread. We understand being from outside people have certain preconceived notions about other cultures. Since being in Italy and visiting many places, having amazing food, seeing breath taking sights and making friends this was a very bad experience. When we went to pay, thinking we can't really understand what's being said, found it rude to laugh about a customer. read more

Great spot for a quick brunch/lunch/snack break after the Colosseum. Omelets were tasty, cappuccino was decent, but the sandwich was bleh. The prices are acceptable in a pinch. Service was very friendly, though, hence the four stars. read more

So I had an exhausting final full day of sight-seeing planned. My day was going to keep me at some of the "smaller" sights around the Colosseum and then taking a nearby bus to the catacombs. So, I wanted a lunch that wasn't too far away but not terribly touristy. The staff was great and incredibly friendly and it was nice to be in an openly LGBT-inclusive environment. I will totally grab more drinks here. I had ordered an Aperol spritz and some carbonara. The carbonara had a very heavy sauce, heavier than I've had other times in Rome- to the point where it was dripping like a liquid. It wasn't terrible, just wasn't great. I would definitely come back here though for the friendly service and atmosphere. Also, maybe the kitchen just had a single less than great dish. :) Give them a shot if you're in the area! read more

Everytime I come to Roma I stay at the 1st/2nd Floor b/c of the gay friendliness. And just so happens, a gay bar downstairs. Very convenient and very close the Colosseum and other tourist attractions. Drink and food prices are decent and the staff are fun and helpful. Do note: this isn't a dance/nightclub! More like a chill bar or lounge where you can gather with your friends and take in history right outside. read more

Coming Out is a pretty cool gar bar located on Via San Giovanni in Laterano, aka Rome's Gay Street district. They are located just literally outside of the Coliseums's shadow and offer a full bar and food menu. Our group stopped in after an afternoon of sight seeing and were pleased by both the friendly staff and the ultra modern decor. Their menu includes a lot of Italian classics and other dishes as well. The menu is very affordable, with many of the pasta dishes clocking in around €6 and a cappuccino setting you back €1.50. They also serve up some excellent mixed drinks. The crowd was mostly locals during our visit, but I could see it getting touristy, especially with outdoor seating in the summer. If you are planning to stop in for a quick meal and a drink, get there early in the evening. Otherwise, stick around for when the disco starts later in the evening. Overall, highly recommended especially if you are on a budget. read more

I've visited twice. Both times during the day, during the summer (slow season in Rome) so my experience is likely different than others; however, with that said, I think this place is a very cute establishment, with good drinks, good food, and fantastic service. Definitely a nice place to grab a drink right by the Coliseum with great people watching right on the street. read more

It's always sweet to see the Flag anywhere in the world. Just a few steps from the Coliseo Roma, this place serves anyone, not just us. The crowd is always friendly and the staff is very accommodating. They are happy to see their American brothers in Roma. The food is as good as any on the street, and as I say, it's one of ours and it's a rock-toss walk to the Coliseum. Please stop and say "buongiorno" or "buono sera." They'll recognize your accent immediately and smile widely. They'll probably want to know how you found them. The Flag! It's mostly on the sidewalk so you won't miss those great looking Italians walking around like they are the center of the universe. (They are!) read more

The staff is extremely rude, I have asked them about the contents of the pizza and they said "can't you speak english, read the menu"
