If I ever owned a collectibles store, I would want it to look exactly like Gods & Monsters. This…read moreplace is impressively clean, fun, and thoughtfully laid out. Everything is where it should be--grouped by theme or franchise--so browsing feels more like exploring a curated pop culture museum than digging through clutter at some grungy and junky comic shop. The selection is fantastic: from comics and statues to posters, small plush, otaku, Pops, action figures, high-end collectibles, and more! Whether you're a gamer, a movie buff, sci-fi fan, or just love cool merch, you'll find something to geek out over for sure. The staff? Genuinely great. Friendly, welcoming, and super knowledgeable without being pushy. You can tell they love what they do, and it will make your experience that much better. You can actually have a real conversation with these guys! I am so tired of visiting stores that hire snotty, vacant, or indifferent employees. You DO NOT have to worry about that here. Oh, and they've got a geek bar inside the back of the store. Seriously. It was a bit too early in the day for me to grab a drink but it looked awesome the way it was decorated, so I'm definitely coming back with my wife some evening (and hopefully soon!). Plus, they're open late--huge win. Also, the location is perfect... right off International Drive and not far from Universal Studios. Whether you're a local or visiting Orlando, this is a must-stop spot. Highly recommended.

We needed a costume for Megacon and ended up at Gods and Monsters, what a fun little spot! Parking…read morewas easy and plentiful, and the store is tucked inside a cute covered plaza. The staff was very friendly and helpful, which made the visit even better. While we wish they sold more masks and costume accessories, we were pleasantly surprised by how many cool items they did have. The store is very clean and well-organized. Highlights included the giant Gremlins and Pokémon vending machine, though sadly it was out of order, it was still fun to see! We also noticed a neat speakeasy out back that we definitely want to check out next time. Overall, this is a great spot for any nerd, collector, or cosplayer. We really enjoyed our visit and plan to come back!

I arrive soon after they opened and interacted with the employees immediately. I was told and if I need anything to just let them know, and I just said, dice. They appointed me to the back of the store and told me where they would be. I wandered them back and took a look at their selection. I immediately found a set that would fit the bill for this occasion. I looked through a bunch of the store before having someone get them from the cabinet for me. I felt that I did really good because I only bought one comic book. I love these stores because everyone is friendly that works in them and I can always find way too many things that I want to buy. If you have young children that are struggling to start reading, you should consider starting them on comic books and getting them to actually read the words in them because it has been proven that children who start with comic books tend to learn to read younger, and then read throughout their lives . Obviously, you should only buy things that you feel are safe for your children, and there is always something to fit that bill.

Great store for comic and anime enthusiasts, friendly staff and very clean store…read more Price wise it's ok some stuff can get expensive especially the anime toys. There is tons of anime and comics to look at here and it's very convenient with other stores near by to complete your Christmas shopping.

I haven't actually been here since my boyfriend and I broke up; however, I was in the area at beauty master and I decided to stop and see what they had and I'm so happy I stopped. I spoke to Gabe at the counter when he rang me up all the opened Funko's or four dollars so I snagged Mr. Oogie boogie. I will be cleaning him up and dusting him off and then I will be bedazzling him. Most of the comics I got besides from the two dollar comic were $.50 apiece and then he also bagged them up and put a paper backs in them as well for me. They sell them for I think $.15 apiece for the bags in the bags; they also own the store next-door, which is called last pack magic it is a trading card game store. If you are ever in the area, Mike's comics and collectibles has a wonderful selection of $.50 comics as well as comics that come out now I highly recommend stopping here. Gabe was super nice and gave exceptional guest service. 10/10

The store itself is huge! You can definitely spend a lot of time here. It's also a great spot to get you out of the heat. The front of the store where we entered had some toys and stuff, and as you got further back you'd find authentic Japanese items. I bought a fan here; they have chopsticks; little Japanese tchotchkes. You can even buy a kimono here! This store is really quite large, bigger than most of the stores I visited in the Disney World parks. Toward the back is a ton of candy and Japanese sweets. I bought lots of fun treats to share with friends and family, including the sakura KitKat that's hard to find outside Japan, I think. The staff were very friendly. They wrote my daughter's name on something we bought--perhaps the fan--in Hiragana. There's also a Kidcot stop right outside this shop (near the candy section), so you may want to check to see if that's still the case to give the kiddos something fun to do.
