I always tell myself I'm never going to buy any more books gee what a lie that is- I stopped in for a lil midnight book date with my fiancé. We are trying to find him a book but instead we got a Harley Pop he doesn't have- it was only $20. He also kindly bought my book which was $18. The man at the counter Jareil was very nice and friendly about the book I got. Everyone here is through the roof kind and knowledgeable about books! I definitely recommend this Barnes and Noble. 10/10 read more

First off the staff at this Barnes & Noble is extremely friendly! My husband and I attended a book signing event for Jodi Benson's new book! Thankfully we were able to call ahead to ask if they were sold out or not. Upon arrival the staff directed us to where we needed to go to purchase a book & receive a wristband. During our wait for the meet & greet we spent some time in the cafe. It was clean and the staff even made my husband a fresh brew of coffee. Honestly he didn't love the taste, but at least it was fresh. The store is very large and has a huge variety on merchandise. They have a massive board game section for example, which is awesome. There are tons of books to choose from in so many different genres! The store is clean and clearly well maintained. We had such an amazing experience at this meet & greet! read more

I have always been a fan of Barnes & Noble and of book stores in general. There is something soothing of walking amongst the aisles of books. These books offer glimpses of other lands, other worlds and other thoughts. You can walk through adventures and live in a time that has been reduced to dust. When you open a book, you open your mind. This particular location has a friendly and professional staff. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here and walked out with several books under my arm. Okay, that was a bit figurative, the books were obviously in a bag that I happily toted out of the store. All in all, I would definitely recommend this particular location of Barnes & Noble and I will give it five stars for my overall experience. read more

Great variety of unique books! I visited on a Saturday and couldn't find parking at first, but there are plenty of spaces around the back of the building. There are lots of fun and interesting books to choose from. The sections are clearly marked; however, I had trouble finding the language section. I approached an employee, and he was very helpful and showed me right away. It would be helpful to have a lookup station or iPad/screen so you don't need to bother employees. I tried to find the section on their website, but it was not listed. Typically, you can find books on Amazon for cheaper, so they do not promote sales. The Starbucks they had was nice with great service, but it didn't live up to the typical Starbucks quality. I ordered the iced pumpkin chai, and it tasted very flat and overly milky. Overall, I recommend coming by for a nice day of reading but avoid the Starbucks. read more

They have a solid stock of mystery/thriller books which are my bread and butter. Today I had the bright idea to take my dog with me, and everyone was very nice to her! I love being able to take my kids into an actual book store and let them explore! They each have specific interests, and the staff is always quick to jump in and guide. They are determined to help their customers find what they are looking for, no matter how difficult it might be. I must also add, they have a great selection of kid friendly dinosaurs books. This place has become one of my favorite places to shop for books and even to study occasionally. Love all the selections and various book accessories I can find here. The staff is always super friendly and sometimes stay at the cafe and catch up on some studying. Now it's not meant for long study sessions as there are not many outlets but the free wifi, coffee and savory snack selections are always great when I need to refuel. It's a great location in Dr. Philips with plenty of parking and even some Tesla chargers close by too. Will be back for sure. read more

I have been shopping at this Barnes & Noble for many years. The staff is wonderful and the store is always organized and quiet. In addition to books they also sell gifts, games and collectibles. They have a book club that you can get information online. The book club book is sold in the stores or online. They meet up monthly on a selected date to discuss the book and this is a great way to connect with the community and meet new friends. Let me start this off by saying I know a lot of people are gonna be like really lady get over it but I'm not. Today was my first time in Barnes and Noble I was excited for a new book store for myself. The selection was okay I did find a few books that I picked up. Now for why I gave this place a 2, there weren't many employees to be able to help find sections but I found what I was looking for. Unfortunately in the section I need I also came across a group of ladies dressed like "school girls" doing a photo shoot blocking the section I was trying to get to. I when to the front desk and said something and was asked if I wanted the employee to report this to management, obviously yes. This is a store not a photo studio. Two female employees came out to investigate but did nothing, looked at the lady's and just walked upfront then went back to wherever they came from. That's a bit disappointing because I still had to wait another 10 minutes for the girls to finish their photos before they wondered elsewhere. So I didn't get to find a book in the section that I originally came to get. I feel this should have been taken care of better and Managed better than just not doing anything at all. read more

I've been coming to this B&N for almost twenty years. Having grown up in the DP area, this was our place for books and media. Nowadays, even with the advent of e books and online shopping, I still prefer to hang out here and enjoy their comfortable seats (in the kids area) and to browse books when my son isn't playing around with the train set. read more

I love Barnes and Noble even if you don't buy anything.. They have great sales as well as if you buy the membership you get additional discounts on everything as well. They have a kids club that you can sign up for and during the summer they have a reading program that can earn your child free books. Who doesn't like free. This one also has a cafe that serves Starbucks items as well, by the way you get your discount in there as well from the book membership. They don't accept Starbucks cards though so that could be a down fall. This location has something for the kids almost every weekend whether it's story time or an author for children's book there. They have a movie and music section as well as old school toys. Which I love to see them I highly recommended coming here to purchase any books read more

Y'all! This Barnes & Nobles is amazing. The Starbucks is lovely. The bathrooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. I think the highlight of my visit was my encounter with Sean. He is this joyful ball of energy. He is so knowledgeable and can find you what ever book you want on record time. (You may also get a seasoned-joke if you asking nicely). Absolutely love Barnes & Noble!! This is a great book store that has many books, magazines, gifts, toys that you can count on. I love to bring my family here on regular occasions. My children enjoy reading books here and play with Thomas train at the children section. Many book stores have closed and I truly hope this book store can continue its business and here for the community. Every time we come here we can see a lot of customers enjoy looking for their book, students are doing their homework, parents are reading books for their young children. They have Starbucks coffee and cafe at this location, It smells so good with the coffee while you are at the book store. Their staff are so friendly and wonderful with any questions you may have. I have always been an avid B&N shopper. I moved to Orlando from Los Angeles & am deeply dissatisfied & disappointed with how the store here is run. I had an order to pick up- already bought & paid for. I went in to the customer service desk where all pre-paid orders were distributed at my home store in LA but the bored & unapologetic girl not doing anything told me to go to the front & wait in a line of 8 parties for the 1 person working the register. What is the point of offering order pickup? I may as well come in to shop. Why couldn't she walk over & help me since she had no customers? After this experience I will not be using this store but ordering from Amazon. Zero customer service. Don't bother with this disaster. read more

My favourite B&N in the O-Town area. We mostly buy all our books now in the eBook format via B&N.com; we use the Nook app on our iPads. But, hubby and I are lovers of books and it's nice to go into a store and take a peek around. This is a nice, large store that has so much to offer other than just books. Tons of novelty items, games, and such. Very clean and well-organized. The employees here are just great... friendly and they genuinely want to help. Even though everything is well-organized, sometimes I still need to be pointed in the right direction. The only negative is the parking. It can be a real pain to find a space. read more

This Barnes and Noble is a really nice location and the books are neat and in order. My biggest gripe however is the lack of titles in the fiction literature section. Everytime I go in with a list of books I would like to purchase, I almost never find what I'm looking for--and it's not like I'm looking for anything obscure, many are classics. Also the prices of the books themselves are crazy. I notice (at least this) B&N mostly carry the larger, fancier versions of books instead of the smaller, normal novel sizes. The bigger versions are always waaaaay more expensive and I don't think it's right that people should be charged $16+ for classic literature that everyone should be able to read...ugh getting off my soapbox now...anyway it is a very nice, newer store and a pleasant place to sit, sip some coffee and read through a good book. read more

I have known many a bibliophile who will scoff at big box book stores. I beg to differ. While I generally look at every new building and question why we need another nail salon or tanning salon or restaurant that will disappear in 12 months, I am always happy to see a new B&N. This particular store is always clean, well stocked and generally full of knowledgeable booksellers. It has an excellent magazine section, a great cafe and a large bargain book section. It also has a good sized music and DVD section (although I suspect those will be gone within a year, just as they will soon leave most stores). One interesting thing that I recently discovered is that the prices in the B&M cafe are much cheaper than the prices at Starbucks. With my Member discount at B&N, I paid $2.48 for a beverage at B&N Cafe this morning. The same beverage is $3.15 at Starbucks. Same Starbucks coffee. Same process. Different price. There is not much more to add, as I suspect that every reader of this review will have visited a B&N before. If you are in DP, this one is conveniently located. read more

I usually by my books online but this is my go-to when I need to check a book out before purchase, read an (or a couple) articles in a magazine, or just need to get out of the house. ie. fight with bf and need some space - but this needs to stay DL. Thanks to the lat night hours - open until 11 pm. I like that it's near some eateries so I can go before or after lunch/dinner. I also tend to find a larger selection of non-fictions here than at the other B&N in the area. read more

Went to this Barnes & Noble looking for one book in specific and ended up with most of my Christmas shopping list completed! LOL They had a great variety (books, toys, gift sets, etc) but to be honest what made the difference to me was their customer service. Simply amazing, courteous knowledgeable and efficient. I was really impressed, and it was not only with me, I mean every associate I noticed assisting other customers they had the same professional attitude, patience and desire to assist. My son who is a Junior in HS is doing virtual schooling due to the pandemic. Since he cannot really focus at home, as expected, his mother and I decided to do a trial run on allowing him to do his schoolwork at a neutral location. We allowed him to go to your location which is located inside of a Barne and Nobles. Needless to say, is that he was kicked out of your location because he " did not " make a purchase. So here are a few things for you people to take it into account for the future: A) He was in listening to the lecture B) He cannot take a break until school is on break. I have been there before and used to study there myself and I have seen people ask for free water and sit there FOR HOURS doing nothing but reading books that would then be returned to the shelves. As you would expect from Barnes and Noble, this is a great location with a huge selection of not just books, but e-readers, magazines, albums and even vinyl. The staff is also very helpful and want to make sure you get the items you're on the search for. They seem to be stocked on a big selection of books (contrary to other bookstores I've previously reviewed) and if they're not on the shelves a staff member will check the back for you. What I liked about this B&N is the way the store is divided into sections, you have a kids sections, a music section, a magazine section, and... wait for it... a Starbucks! WIN! That just makes you want to stay in the store longer than you have planned. Seriously, if you're looking for a "big chain" bookstore or are in need of a book ASAP, because you need it for that same day and can't wait for it to ship, stop here! This is a nice, clean, Barnes and Noble with Starbucks Cafe. I went on a Thursday morning - there were 3 people shopping here besides the staff. Gifts, journals, etc are nicely displayed. Fiction is plentiful and nicely displayed. Where this goes awry is their total lack of organization in the theme sections, I specifically was looking for specific author's history and social studies books and these sections are just a headache! They are not organized by topic or by author. Books about Hillary Clinton are in the WWI section, you can't find anything. I got a headache after 5 minutes of trying to find a current bestselling history novel about european air battles in WWII. Nope, despite their own website saying they had three copies. I gave up. My coffee was tasty though. This place needs real work to get it organized. read more

Three stars is pretty generous for a big box chain store that has choked the life out of the smaller entrepreneurs. This was only my second or third visit to Dr. Phil's Barnes and Noble. I like it better than the one I used to go to on E. Colonial at Bumby. There, they seemed to put the right wing propaganda at the front of the store and make you search through the stacks for anything progressive. (I almost expected them to erect a shrine to Pat Buchanan.) That doesn't seem to be so much the case at this B&N. I guess about 49 of the last 50 books I've purchased have been through Kindle or Amazon mail order, so I don't browse the bookstores much these days. But today I was looking for a "coffee table" book, which I wanted to see, since it was going to be part of my decor. (Sorry Mr. President, you've disappointed me too many times, so I had to put you away). Amazon had a krapload of books on the particular subject I was looking for, but Barnes and Noble had only one, and not an especially good one at that. I finally did buy a lovely coffee table book on sacred places in the world, but that wasn't what I went there for. I lingered for awhile, but would have stayed longer if they only offered some decent coffee instead of Starbuckles. read more

I love this Barnes & Noble location. The store itself is huge and has plenty of nooks to sit and enjoy a book. Even though I'm addicted to my e-reader I love to walk around looking through all the books and getting ideas of what to read next. What I noticed this trip was there were many associates in the store and they were all helping customers find books. It was nice to see such impressive customer service. But due to the changing of times, you'll find more than just books here now. There's a large novelty section where you can find toys and board games. They have a good selection and you're bound to find something obscure you probably won't find elsewhere. There's also a media section with DVDs and music as well as a large vinyl record section.
